As soon as he reached the top floor, Shawn Young spotted Minnie Wang sitting on a sofa outside, sipping milk. The moment she saw Shawn, Minnie jumped up excitedly and called out, "Shawn, you’re finally back!" Then she curiously eyed the black-haired female dog in his hand and asked, "Hey, what are you doing with that dog? I don’t like black-haired dogs!"
"Oh, the dog’s for something else. Where’s Senior Felix?" Shawn quickly asked her.
"That old man’s boiling water in the bathroom," Minnie said, pointing behind her.
"Oh—" Shawn walked to the bathroom behind her. From the crack in the door, he saw steam billowing out and filling the air. He pushed the door open and saw a gas stove burning fiercely, several big pots arranged on top, steam churning inside them. Next to them, in a large bathtub, lay Charles Morin, unconscious.
"Ah—Little Shawn, you’re finally back! I’ve boiled several big pots of water just like you asked! What’s the next step?" Felix Eagleclaw asked as soon as he saw Shawn.
"Great! Now I’m going to transfer Charles Morin’s ‘living soul’ into this female dog and seal it for now. That way, the Yan Twins of Terror won’t be able to snatch his soul," Shawn explained.
"Uh—a female dog?! Why a female dog?" Felix couldn’t help but ask, puzzled.
"Well, Charles Morin is a man, so he’s yang, and this black-haired female dog is yin. The ‘living soul’ transfer needs a yin-yang fusion to work, so—for now, Charles will have to put up with being a female dog for a while! Once everything’s done, I’ll help him get his soul back and become human again!" Shawn explained. Of course, he only shared part of the truth; the rest was just to fool Felix. In reality, the soul transfer technique only needed a sentient creature, and the whole yin-yang thing was just a cover.
"Well, fine! I don’t really get all this stuff, so I’ll leave Charles Morin’s life and death in your hands, Little Shawn," Felix said.
"Alright, Senior, please strip Charles Morin. It’ll be easier for me to perform the soul transfer technique!" Shawn said.
"Oh—okay—" Felix replied, and started undressing Charles Morin. In no time, he had Charles down to just his underwear, revealing a skinny, bony frame.
At that moment, Minnie Wang poked her head in, curious to see what was going on. She caught sight of Charles Morin’s scrawny body, her pretty face flushing red. She stuck out her tongue, spat lightly, and quickly retreated to the sofa. Yet, in her mind, Shawn’s chiseled features and strong physique popped up out of nowhere. Compared to him, Charles stripped down looked just like a plucked monkey.
"He definitely can’t compare to Shawn down there—not a real man at all!" Minnie thought wildly, her mind wandering. Just thinking about Shawn’s ‘big weapon’ made her ears burn and her heart race, and she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of anticipation.
Back in the bathroom, Felix looked at the nearly naked Charles Morin, hesitated, and asked Shawn, "Uh—Little Shawn, is this enough?"
"Uh—take off his underwear too! There’s an important acupoint there that I need to seal when I cast the spell!" Shawn reminded.
"Oh, that’s how it works? Alright!" Felix said, and pulled off Charles Morin’s Playboy limited edition briefs. He saw Charles’s limp little member, surrounded by sparse hair, looking utterly unimpressive.
"Sigh—he’s really small down there! No wonder he’s so obsessed with chasing women—I just don’t get it," Shawn said, eyeing Charles’s little ‘bird’ with a look of disdain.
"Little Shawn—can you start now?" Felix asked, feeling a bit sorry after seeing Charles’s tiny ‘bird.’ He remembered seeing Charles naked as a kid, and even after twenty years, that ‘little screw’ had barely grown! No wonder the Morin Family has so few heirs—the real problem is between the legs!
Shawn put aside his disdain—after all, men with ‘big birds’ like his were rare. He placed the little iron cage on Charles Morin’s bare stomach. The black-haired female dog inside sensed something was wrong and began to bark nervously.
Shawn began channeling the Heavenly Firmament Pure Qi inside him, letting his consciousness sink into the sea of illusions. He overlapped his hands, thumbs hooked together, pinkies touching, and the other fingers loosely clasped, forming the ‘Soul Returning Seal.’ Then he started chanting one of the most mystical Taoist incantations from the Taiqing Sect—the Soul Transfer Spell: “Vital energy and yang essence, flames rise crimson, piercing all beneath heaven, entering my body, Mountain Spirit Incantation, universal blessing, five spirits anchored, body ascends immortal, five energies swirling, star shining bright, radiant Taiwei. Black spirit divine, soaring with feathered robe, guarding five gates, pure essence flows, golden gates shine, illuminating the abyss. Within, the White Emperor, called Imperial Spirit, protects and stabilizes, shields my form, cuts off evil, the righteous path clear, palaces orderly, three realms united. Dao aligns with nature, ascends to the purple court, talisman decree, blessings to all life, merit to all, peace to heaven and earth, soul returns to its place—moo ahn en mo yan—Transfer!”
After finishing the incantation, Shawn snapped his eyes open and slowly raised his hands. A beam of purple light shot from his body, swirling in the air, instantly enveloping Charles Morin and the black-haired female dog. Shawn’s hands shifted through a series of mudras. With a muffled “Boom!” Charles Morin’s body shuddered, and a faint white light slowly emerged from his forehead, drifting into the air. It swirled and gathered, gradually forming a humanoid shape—an ethereal soul! It was unmistakably Charles Morin’s likeness, and this soul was the vital ‘living soul’ that governed his life and death.
"Enter!" Shawn shouted, grabbing at the air. Charles Morin’s extracted ‘living soul’ rippled, turning into a stream of white light. With a sharp "Whoosh!" it shot into the body of the black-haired female dog.
"Woof—woof—" The black-haired female dog barked frantically, her body shivering and struggling. Suddenly, she curled up in the corner of the iron cage, her eyes wide and tongue hanging out, looking around in terror.
"Whew—mission accomplished, the soul transfer was a success!" Shawn said, exhaling slowly, his hands lowering as he gathered his qi back to his dantian.
"Uh—It’s done? How can you tell?" Felix asked, stunned.
"Charles Morin—how do you feel?!" Shawn asked directly, addressing the black-haired female dog.
"Woof—woof—woof—" The black-haired female dog heard Shawn’s voice, instantly scrambled up and barked wildly at him, her expression full of frustration and anger.
"See, Senior Felix, now Charles Morin’s soul is residing in this black-haired female dog’s body. She recognizes you—just call her and you’ll see!" Shawn said to Felix.
Felix paused, then called out to the black-haired female dog, "Uh—Chang Hai—are you Charles Morin? If so, bark at Uncle Felix!"
"Woof—woof—woof—wooo—wooo—" The black-haired female dog heard Felix’s call and immediately barked at him, her expression especially miserable and helpless.
