"You dare be so insolent in front of Miss?"
Bryce Gu stepped forward, his gaze icy as he looked down at Faye Zheng on the ground, his expression anything but friendly.
Faye Zheng was chilled to the bone by Bryce Gu's gaze, gritting her teeth tightly.
"Sorry."
Yvonne Zhu looked at Faye Zheng and sighed again.
She felt apologetic—even if she wanted Faye Zheng to slap her back, Bryce Gu probably wouldn't allow it.
This scene made the group of rich heirs hang their heads, even those still groaning in pain forced themselves to stay quiet, afraid a single sound would draw Evan Lin's ire.
"Now that their business is settled, it's your turn."
At this moment, Leo Li's face was turning purple from lack of oxygen, but Evan Lin's grip was precisely controlled—ensuring Leo wouldn't die from suffocation.
"Slaps should be symmetrical. Only then do they look good."
Evan Lin shook his head. "I've put up with you long enough. You didn't appreciate it. These slaps are just to help you remember."
"I was wrong... I... I was wrong!"
Leo Li kept begging for mercy, scrambling over to try to hug Evan Lin's leg, but Evan Lin simply kicked him away.
"Now you realize you were wrong?"
Evan Lin looked at him.
"I know, I know! I never should've tried to mess with you, Evan Lin!"
Leo Li kept begging for forgiveness.
These second-generation heirs might be used to fighting, but none of them had ever seen someone with Evan Lin's kind of strength.
Just now, Evan Lin kicked Eric Yang flying and then used Leo Li as a human club to knock down the rest. That was already shocking enough.
While Evan Lin was squeezing Leo Li's neck, Leo felt like he was on the verge of death. That terrifying feeling of suffocation was enough to crush his pride.
What’s more, it looked like Yvonne Zhu and Bryce Gu were both standing on his side now. Who knew how this guy from the sticks could actually get Yvonne Zhu to listen to him?
Right now, all he wanted was to get out of here and wait for Master Yan to come back.
"It’s good you know you were wrong."
Lin Yi sneered, "Go over there and slap her three times."
"You!"
Hearing Lin Yi’s words, Faye Zheng—who still hadn’t recovered from Yvonne Zhu’s three slaps—changed expression again. "Don’t go too far, Lin Yi!"
"Don’t forget, your mom is still in my house! This isn’t something you’ll just walk away from today!"
Faye Zheng shouted angrily.
Her eyes were already brimming with tears.
Leo Li sneered, "His mom's still at the Zheng clan estate. If I'm right, he's already heading there!"
Lin Yi shook his head. "I’ve put up with you long enough. You didn’t appreciate it. These slaps are just to help you remember."
As he finished, he glanced at Leo Li, whose face was full of hesitation, and his tone turned icy. "Do it!"
Leo Li trembled all over at the command, hurried over to Faye Zheng, his face bitter. "Sorry, junior sister. Senior brother has failed you."
With that, he gritted his teeth and struck.
Three more slaps landed.
Fearing Lin Yi would be dissatisfied with his strength, Leo Li struck extra hard, making Faye Zheng see stars. Her anger and humiliation overwhelmed her, and with a rush of blood, she fainted.
"Junior sister!"
Leo Li jumped in fright.
Faye Zheng lay on the ground, the handprints on her face starkly visible.
Her eyes were closed, completely unconscious.
If Leo Li's slaps really killed Faye Zheng, his life would be over too.
"Let’s go."
Lin Yi glanced at the unconscious Faye Zheng, his gaze indifferent. He said this to Yvonne Zhu and Bryce Gu, then turned and walked away.
Once Lin Yi left, the rich kids he’d knocked down started struggling to their feet, groaning in pain.
"Get her to the hospital, quick! If anything happens, we’re all screwed!"
"Leo Li, who the hell is that kid? He hits hard! And what’s with Yvonne Zhu—did she take the wrong meds today? Why is she helping him?"
Yang Zi, who’d finally recovered, struggled to his feet nearby.
Lin Yi had actually held back—if he hadn’t, none of them would’ve survived.
As for Leo Li, back in Whitewood, Lin Yi had already shattered all his muscles and bones. It wasn’t fatal, but soon enough he’d be bedridden for life.
"He’s just the son of some nobody elementary school teacher! What kind of big shot comes out of Whitewood? Total bumpkin!"
Leo Li cursed as he and a few others rushed to carry Faye Zheng to the car.
"Yvonne Zhu’s lost her mind too!"
I’ve heard Master Yan mention it before—Bryce Gu from the Zhu clan is supposed to be a real tyrant. He told me never to mess with him. But Yvonne Zhu? She’s even more domineering!
Leo Li’s voice was full of anger: "I bet she didn’t step in for that kid—she’s probably pissed about her falling-out with Drake Yu from the Southriver Sword Sect. She just wanted to vent."
"She probably just used Faye Zheng as an excuse to blow off steam!"
Leo Li speculated.
"No way. Even if she’s blowing off steam, she wouldn’t go that far with Faye Zheng!"
Someone looked unconvinced. "Maybe that kid’s got some special background? Or he already knew Yvonne Zhu?"
"Special background? Come on, what could a kid from Whitewood possibly have?" Leo Li took a deep breath. "I’ve been to his house, met his mom. Just a regular family obsessed with saving face."
"With his background, he couldn’t touch the Zhu clan in eight lifetimes!"
Leo Li sneered, pointing at Faye Zheng’s swollen face: "See? That side’s from Yvonne Zhu! Maybe she just couldn’t stand Faye Zheng being prettier. Drake Yu even praised Faye to her face once!"
His words made a lot of people suddenly realize.
Women’s jealousy is rarely rational.
Yvonne Zhu’s fallout with Drake Yu, running into Faye Zheng—the girl Drake had praised—if she really got jealous, lashing out was understandable.
"Damn it! Step on it! If something really happens, none of us will get away!" Leo Li cursed.
The driver, terrified, floored the gas pedal.
"So we’re just letting this go?"
Someone grumbled, "Letting some country mutt walk all over us? If word gets out, we’ll lose all face!"
"Let it go? Like hell we will!"
Leo Li sneered, "His mom’s still at the Zheng house. If I’m right, he’s already heading there!"
