Overwhelming Talent

"No matter how tight the defense, in my eyes, it's nothing but paper." Evan Lin's eyes brimmed with disdain as he cut into Class 3's penalty area like a lone blade.

"You think I'm just for show?" The Class 3 goalkeeper snapped back to his senses, his face twisting as Evan Lin sprinted toward him, anger flaring up.

This blatantly provocative charge made it clear Evan Lin didn't even see him as a real goalkeeper!

The keeper lunged at Evan Lin like a starving wolf, diving for the ball at his feet.

"Trash." Evan Lin snorted coldly, stepped forward with his left foot, and flicked his heel at the side of the ball, stopping its forward roll for a moment before sending it spinning sharply in the opposite direction.

The goalkeeper had already closed in, stretching out both arms and using his body to completely block the ball's path forward.

"All just ants. Even if you try to block the ball with your body, it's pointless." Evan's right foot moved forward in a strange motion, his left drew back, and the ball was now positioned between his legs.

Almost at the exact moment the keeper arrived, Evan clamped the ball between his legs, bent his knees, and sharply flicked the ball up from behind—then nodded it with his head, sending it past the stunned goalkeeper and straight into the net.

Silence.

The whole stadium went dead quiet.

Two goals in less than ten minutes.

Evan Lin turned, glanced at Ethan Yi standing not far away with a dark expression, slowly gave him a thumbs up—then tilted his head and pointed his thumb down.

"Damn! Is Evan Lin some kind of monster?" The stands erupted in heated discussion, everyone completely floored by Evan's solo run and insane skills.

"Even if a national team player came here, they might not be able to break through so many defenders alone and score right under the keeper's nose!" a guy shouted, eyes wide with excitement.

Mia Chen sat in the rest area, her pretty face flushed, swept up by the electric atmosphere.

One man with the ball, charging forward alone.

This was one person challenging an entire soccer team!

"So strong!" Yolanda Fang propped her chin, too shocked to say anything else.

"This kid's ball sense, technique, and that swagger in every move!" Coach Peter sat bolt upright, eyes blazing with rare excitement as he stared at Evan Lin.

"Amazing! Absolutely amazing! I never expected a place like this to have such a genius player!" Coach Peter was so excited he was almost rambling, itching to share what he'd just witnessed with his soccer-mad friends overseas.

Those soccer-crazy guys would absolutely lose their minds over this.

"Kickoff!" Ethan Yi shouted at the goalkeeper, who was just now getting up off the ground, his voice a little fired up.

"Evan Lin! I was just fooling around before. Now I'm going to show you my real strength!" Ethan Yi glared at Evan, his eyes burning.

"Real strength?" Evan Lin sneered. "What a joke."

The goalkeeper booted the ball way downfield.

Evan Lin pounced like a hunting leopard, sprinting straight for Ethan Yi as soon as he got the ball.

"Go Ethan Yi!"

Several Class 3 players rushed Evan Lin, trying to buy Ethan Yi some time.

As long as Ethan Yi could reach the other half and fire off a long-range shot, who cared how good Evan Lin was?

If Evan couldn't catch up or get the ball, Class 3 would still win!

"Just stay put! Stop right there!"

Three burly players barreled straight at Evan Lin, trying to block him with their bodies.

"Idiots." Evan Lin curled his lip, not even thinking about slowing down, and accelerated.

Bang.

The three players crashed into Evan Lin—and the next instant, it was like they'd slammed into a wall, rolling backward across the turf.

But Evan Lin only moved faster, charging straight for Ethan Yi.

"Max speed, freakish physique! If he wanted, he could definitely rule the entire pitch in the future!" Coach Peter jumped up, eyes blazing as he watched Evan tear across the field, his voice shaking with excitement. "This kid's got the potential to be a King of the Green Field!"

From his angle, it looked like everyone else's speed had dropped to a crawl—only Evan Lin moved like a gust of wind.

The gap between him and Ethan Yi was shrinking fast!

"Evan Lin! There's no way one guy can beat my whole team! Today was supposed to be my solo highlight reel!" Ethan Yi glared at the goal thirty meters ahead, face twisted with anger. "This was supposed to be all about me! You ruined it!"

"Thirty meters—let's see you stop this shot!"

The ball hadn't even settled yet when Ethan Yi planted his left foot, then swung his right leg up for the kick.

"Ethan Yi's going for the shot!"

"There's no keeper in the goal—what's the point of defending? Even if Evan Lin's got insane skills, how's he supposed to stop a whole team by himself? Total pipe dream."

"Go Ethan Yi!"

The stands buzzed with chatter.

But just as Ethan Yi struck the ball, sending it soaring in a beautiful arc toward the goal, the distance closing fast...

Evan Lin was still more than twenty meters behind the ball.

"No way—at most two seconds and the ball's in. Evan Lin can't catch up." Several people shook their heads at the scene.

If this shot went in, the rest of the match would be a foregone conclusion.

All Class 3 had to do was keep this up—Evan Lin would never catch the ball, and every time their keeper got it, Class 7's goal would get hammered again.

"You can't catch up, Evan Lin!"

"Doesn't matter how good you are—against a whole team, we'll wear you down!" Ethan Yi smirked, watching Evan Lin sprint past, chasing the ball with everything he had.

"Wait!"

"What's he doing?"

In the stands, everyone stared in surprise at Evan Lin's movement.

"Holy crap! What's he even kicking?" Someone shook their head, eyes wide, trying to see what Evan Lin was doing with his foot.

But before they could figure it out, the ball—which was about to rocket into the net—suddenly changed direction!

The ball!

The ball smashed into the crossbar!

It bounced straight back out!
