First Visit to the Yun Family

1/4/2026

Cecilia Gu heard Sylvia Ran's words, and a cold smile surfaced in her heart once again.

If Charles Yin hadn't instructed her, Sylvia Ran would never have said such a thing, right?

Charles Yin was listening on the side as well, and he made no move to stop Sylvia Ran. Clearly, this must be what Charles Yin wants.

What's the point?

Even if they didn't flaunt their love in front of me, I'd still know to keep my distance.

The only reason Charles Yin is keeping me around is because I didn't treat Sylvia Ran nicely, isn't it?

So now he's feeling sorry for her...

Heh... Seeing the truth so clearly, it really does chill the heart.

But it doesn't matter anymore.

I'll wish them well.

Cecilia Gu didn't look up at Charles Yin, and so she missed the fleeting spark of joy and hope in his eyes.

"Mm, I don't need anyone to take care of me. I'm fine, I can handle everything on my own," Cecilia replied calmly. "So I won't take up any more of your time—have fun!"

After saying this, Cecilia picked up the food box and turned away without hesitation.

A flash of triumphant satisfaction crossed Sylvia Ran's eyes.

Charles Yin's shimmering gaze darkened slightly, a sense of being abandoned making his good mood vanish instantly.

Cecilia... why has she become so cold?

Charles Yin took a step forward, wanting to ask Cecilia Gu what exactly had happened to make her so cold in just one day.

But before he could say anything, Sylvia Ran blocked him, anxiously saying, "Oh, my memory! Charles, didn't Joe Qi ask us to grab some wine from the cellar? If we don't go soon, they'll really be waiting forever! Let's hurry. Today is Joe Qi's wedding, after all—let's not hold things up."

Without giving him a chance to refuse, Sylvia Ran pulled Charles Yin away.

Charles Yin looked deeply at Cecilia Gu's retreating figure, determined to have a proper talk with her.

He really didn't like this feeling.

He's always the one who gives up on others—how could he be the one abandoned?!

Cecilia Gu carried the food box back to her room. Looking at the delicate pastries inside, she felt a warm glow in her heart.

Because this box of carefully crafted pastries had successfully melted Cecilia's distant feelings toward the Yun Family.

Honestly, just that thoughtful care for her and the baby's health—even if a stranger did all this for you, you'd be moved.

Let alone the Yun Family.

Yesterday, when she toured the Yun Family's old house, Cecilia Gu actually found herself admiring them quite a bit.

Now that the Yun Family was actively showing kindness, if she didn't respond, she'd really be too cold-hearted.

But these pastries really are exquisitely made and beautiful.

They're even prettier than the ones from last night.

Each pastry was crafted to look like a delicate flower.

Even if you just displayed them as art pieces, they'd still look gorgeous.

There was a knock at the door outside.

Cecilia Gu looked up and saw Rona Muir coming in with two maids, each carrying four big boxes. They quickly set up a whole table of food for her.

"Worried you'd go hungry, so I had the chef make a special meal just for you," Rona Muir said, noticing the delicate pastries in front of Cecilia and exclaiming, "Wow, these are gorgeous! Can I try one?"

Cecilia Gu smiled and pushed the plate toward Rona Muir. "Take whichever you like."

Rona Muir didn't stand on ceremony, carefully picking one up with tweezers, admiring it for a while before reluctantly popping it into her mouth.

"Mmm, this is delicious! So good!" Rona's eyes lit up with praise. "This is the prettiest, best-tasting pastry I've ever had! Compared to this, everything else is just weak! The chef here may make fancy-looking food, but the taste is nothing like this!"

Cecilia Gu nodded in agreement.

She's eaten plenty of so-called gourmet meals by now.

Those dishes really were a feast for the eyes.

But compared to the Yun Family's pastries, they just couldn't measure up.

Honestly, do those chefs have the Yun Family's medical expertise as a foundation?

Even if someone could make medicinal cuisine, do they have such high-quality herbs?

And even with the best herbs, do they have the Yun Family's ancient recipes?

No wonder Max Mo said this was truly one of a kind in the world!

After eating one, Rona Muir's face lit up and she waved at the two maids who'd brought the food. "Go on, go on, tell Shang Ke I'm not coming! I'm staying here to eat with Cici!"

Rona Muir hugged the food box and happily dug into the pastries.

"Since you love these so much, why not come with me to the Yun Family tomorrow as a guest?" Cecilia Gu said with a smile. "You can eat as much as you want there!"

"To the Yun Family?" Rona Muir paused mid-bite. "What for?"

Cecilia told Rona Muir about what happened today, gently stroking her belly as she said, "Since we've eaten their pastries, of course we should go thank them in person. Besides, you know how busy they'll be tomorrow. No one will have time for someone like me who prefers peace and quiet. So I might as well go out and visit the Yun Family. If you'd rather join the excitement, I'll just go by myself."

"Excitement? Do you really think I want to watch Sylvia Ran and Charles Yin flaunt their love? Please!" Rona Muir said seriously. "I can't stand it anymore. I don't know what Charles Yin is thinking, spending all day with Sylvia Ran. Even if he wants to rekindle an old flame, fine, but until he divorces, he should show some respect to you—the real Mrs. Yin! Shang Ke dragged me away so I wouldn't say anything. I was dying to vent, so I used this as an excuse to come find you. Perfect, tomorrow I won't bother with their drama, let the boss do whatever he wants, I'll go with you to the Yun Family!"

All afternoon, Rona Muir didn't join the others, but instead spent the time in Cecilia Gu's room.

The two girls chatted and laughed, and honestly, time passed pretty quickly.

When Charles Yin came by looking to talk to Cecilia, he found she'd already turned off the lights to rest.

Charles Yin stood outside the window, watching Cecilia Gu close the curtains and turn away. In his narrowed, upturned eyes, there was a hint of something hard to define.

The second day of the wedding.

Cecilia Gu wore a formal magenta gown, her hair styled in a bun adorned with three freshly picked magenta orchids.

Even her jewelry was orchid-shaped.

With her jewelry and outfit, Cecilia Gu looked just like a fairy from a flower garden.

Rona Muir couldn't help but exclaim, "Cici, this elegant look really suits you—you're absolutely stunning! The design of this dress is perfect. If you don't look closely, you'd never guess you're pregnant."

Cecilia Gu replied with a smile, "Yeah, I really like this dress too."

Rona Muir gently fastened a small orchid-shaped bracelet on Cecilia's wrist. It wasn't flashy, but its simple elegance made it all the more endearing.

Max Mo called: "Have you had breakfast? I'm waiting outside."

Rona Muir made a knowing face and said, "No wonder people say most women cared for by Mr. Mo end up falling for him. He's such a warm, thoughtful guy—it's impossible not to like him!"

"Alright, we're heading out now," Cecilia said quickly, ignoring Rona's teasing as she hung up the phone. She turned to Rona Muir and said, "You! If you like him, he's all yours!"

Rona Muir immediately made a crossed-hand gesture. "No thanks, I'm not interested in warm guys!"

Cecilia Gu laughed and took Rona Muir by the hand as they quickly headed out.

Sure enough, as soon as they stepped outside, Cecilia saw Max Mo had already parked and was waiting for them.

Cecilia Gu smiled and said, "Is it okay if I bring Rona along?"

"Of course," Max Mo shrugged, his blue eyes full of gentle warmth. "If Vice President Muir graces us with her presence, the Yun Family will be thrilled."

"You really know how to talk!" Rona Muir sighed and shook her head. "No wonder you and Charles Yin are called the two top male gods in the country! Charles relies on his intense charisma and a face so beautiful it makes women jealous, while Mr. Mo, you win people over with your meticulous kindness!"

"Thank you for your kind words, Vice President Muir. Please, after you," Max Mo said with a gentle smile, personally opening the car door for Cecilia and Rona.

Today, he drove them himself, heading straight for the Yun Family with Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir.

As the car drove away, Charles Yin stood there with a sullen face, his narrow eyes narrowing even more as the air around him grew colder.

Alex nervously approached, shrinking his neck. "Boss, Mrs. Yin just didn't see you come over..."

"Why is she dressed up so beautifully? Where is she going? And she didn't even take her assistant!" Charles Yin's eyes flashed with anger.

Alex touched his nose and said, "Mrs. Yin told Xiao Wang she's going to visit the Yun Family today."

"What!" Charles Yin grew even more agitated. "Why didn't she ask me to go with her?"

Alex quietly wiped the sweat from his brow.

The boss sure gets mad about some weird things!

"Calculate the Yun Family's total assets and buy everything within three days!" Charles Yin ordered coldly.

Alex kept wiping his sweat, cautiously asking, "Won't Mrs. Yin get angry?"

"So what if she gets mad... Never mind, just leave the Yun Family alone for now!" Charles Yin muttered, then kicked a bench on the roadside, sending it flying. Without even glancing at the poor bench, he turned and walked away.

Watching Charles Yin storm off, Alex glanced at the bench, now in pieces, and silently lit a row of candles for himself.

It was actually quite close from K City to the Yun Family.

In less than half an hour, they arrived at the Yun Family's grand entrance.

As soon as Cecilia Gu got out of the car, she saw the imposing, ancient vermilion gates that radiated a strong sense of history.

The stone lions flanking the gates were so old, it felt like they belonged on a movie set.

Mr. Yun and Mrs. Yun, along with several family members, had been eagerly waiting for a long time.

The moment Cecilia Gu stepped out of the car, Mr. Yun, as the head of the family, was moved to tears once again.

Today, Cecilia was so beautiful it almost made people want to cry.

Cecilia Gu smiled at Mr. Yun and Mrs. Yun. "Mr. Yun, Mrs. Yun, I'm sorry I'm late," she said warmly.
