Ghost-Human Festival Part 5

It was late at night, and everything outside was eerily quiet. I kept struggling, feeling both burning heat and icy cold intertwining within my body.

Rachel Lan pressed tightly against my side. Her cold body, which had helped at first, now brought excruciating pain.

"Ah..." I screamed, feeling as if something inside me was about to burst out. The pain made me shove Rachel Lan away.

With a bang, a red light flared. The entire table shattered to pieces from my blow. Clutching myself, head thrown back in agony, I watched as red light poured from the left side of my body, instantly dyeing everything around me red.

"Ethan..." Rachel Lan called softly, and a Spirit Veil swept over, wrapping around me.

"Your eyes."

I felt a surge of heat on my cheek. Wiping it with my hand, I saw a smear of bright red.

Turning my head, I saw terror flooding Rachel Lan's eyes. I struggled to suppress the unknown force within me that was about to break free.

I screamed, clutching my head as it throbbed painfully. Numbness shot through the fingers of my left hand. With a ripping sound, the Spirit Veil tore apart. I swung my arm, a blood-red cord whipping out and striking the tower wall with a bang, leaving a huge gash.

Outside, eerie green lights flickered. Collapsing to the ground, my head felt like it was about to explode. Streams of red thread poured from the left side of my body, quickly spreading across the floor.
