Princess Ivy didn’t answer. Instead, she poured herself a cup of tea, took a sip, then walked over to Roxy and smiled: "Evan, Roxy isn’t really your sister, is she? If I’m not mistaken, she’s also your woman—not your sister."
Evan Chu wanted to explain, but it was clear he couldn’t hide it any longer. It was time to come clean, so he smiled and said, "You’re right. She’s my fiancée—my first woman, the one I truly love. Are you upset that I lied to you?"
"Lied? I don’t feel that way. A man as outstanding as you obviously wouldn’t have just one woman—I figured as much long ago. Roxy just surprised me. If she hadn’t acted so heartbroken and helpless today, I never would’ve guessed. No sister would show that kind of emotion." Ivy said.
"Ivy, you’ve asked your questions—so what now? You’re not planning to make Roxy leave Nine-Shade City, are you? If you are, then I’ll have to leave too. I’ll never abandon her." Evan said seriously.
"Evan, you misunderstood. Since I’m your woman too, and Roxy is like a sister to me, there’s no way I’d make her leave. But this has to stay secret. We’re in Nine-Shade City and you’re the Prince Consort now—if people find out, the consequences will be serious." Princess Ivy said.
"I get it. After tomorrow, I’m planning to go into seclusion. The City Lord’s Mansion should have a place for that, right? Roxy should go into seclusion for a while too. Honestly, our strength is way too low. If I’d been strong enough today, the Nether Monarch wouldn’t have been so arrogant. Ivy, you’ve reached Ninth-Layer Saint Martial Realm, so you can stabilize your cultivation for now—but whatever you do, don’t cause trouble outside." Evan said.
"Don’t worry. But when you come out, you have to take me to the Beast Clan’s territory. That Beast Clan prince is too hateful—he actually dared to injure Roxy. I trust you’ll get revenge for her, right?" Ivy said.
"Even if you didn’t ask, I’d do it anyway. Beast Clan, Netherkin—I’ll pay both a visit. But now’s not the time, so everyone just be patient! It’s getting late. Roxy, you should head back to your room. It’s our wedding day, so I’m sure plenty of people are watching. I don’t want anyone finding out about us." Evan said.
Roxy gave a faint smile and left the room. Evan grinned and said, "Ivy, I’ve made you suffer today—let me make it up to you. Don’t worry, I’ll be extra gentle this time!"
After Evan finished speaking, he walked toward Princess Ivy, but she just smiled and said, "You want me? Fine—but we have to lay down three rules. If you don’t agree, don’t even think about touching me tonight."
"Heh, you’re really going to play hardball? Then I’ll go find Roxy—haven’t been affectionate with her in ages, and now’s the perfect time." Evan laughed, pretending to leave.
"Don’t you dare! Evan, don’t push me too far—you know my temper. I’ve already restrained myself a lot for you, so don’t go overboard." Ivy said.
"Ivy, I’m just joking with you. So, what are your three rules?" Evan gently pulled Ivy into his arms as he spoke.
"First, you’re not allowed to make me angry. Second, you can’t fall for other women. Third, you must never lie to me! Those are my three conditions—I trust you can handle that, right?" Ivy said.
"No problem with the first one. The second might be a bit tricky—you know I’m definitely going to make Faye Knox my woman, but apart from her, I won’t go after anyone else. As for the third, that’s even easier—why would I ever lie to you? Give me one good reason." Evan laughed.
"I knew you were a hopeless flirt. So, who’s prettier—Faye Knox or me? And who do you love more?" Ivy pressed.
Evan was stunned for a moment—when women get serious, it’s terrifying. "Of course, I love you more! Why else would I marry you? We’ve even consummated the marriage, and I haven’t done anything with Faye Knox yet."
"Fine, I’ll believe you this time! But you’d better be gentle—last time was way too painful! I don’t know why you were so rough; you know it was my first time!" Ivy said, blushing bright red.
After drinking their ceremonial cross-cup wine, the two moved to the bed. What happened next isn’t suitable for children. This time, Evan took his time and was incredibly gentle, making Ivy feel like she was floating in heaven—her moans didn’t stop. Evan also didn’t forget to absorb her Pure Yin energy; although it wasn’t enough for an immediate breakthrough, he did reach the peak of his current realm, making his next breakthrough much easier.
The next morning, Evan was up early. Ivy, exhausted from last night’s ‘battle,’ was still asleep. Evan went straight to the main hall to find the Shade Lord—his top priority now was going into seclusion to break through his realm.
When Evan reached the main hall, he found the Shade Lord wasn’t there. After asking around, he learned that the Shade Lord was in the City Lord’s Mansion gardens, chatting with Zander Xiang, the Beast King, and the Ghost King. It looked like they were discussing something important—even the younger man and woman, and the Beast King’s son, had been sent away.
Evan arrived but didn’t go over directly—he just stood at a distance and waited. Of course, the four rulers noticed him. "Hold on, you guys wait a minute—Evan must have business with me. I’ll be right back!" the Shade Lord said.
After the Shade Lord left, Zander Xiang said to the Beast King and Ghost King, "That kid is far from ordinary. If the Shade Clan fully backs him, I bet that in less than a hundred years, his strength will surpass ours. By then, the whole Netherworld—or at least the Shade Clan—might end up under his rule."
"He’s human—won’t he help the humans rise again? Sure, he’s impressive, but not as terrifying as you claim. Still, to avoid trouble, if we get the chance we should kill him. Just not here in Nine-Shade City—it’s best not to act rashly for now," the Beast King said.
The Beast King was still brooding over Evan killing several of his Beast Clan members. If he got the chance, he definitely wouldn’t let Evan go.
Just then, the Shade Lord walked over to Evan and asked, "Evan, what brings you here?"
"Father-in-law, I want to go into seclusion for a while. You know my strength—after taking a full palm from the Nether Monarch, I realize just how far behind I am. Is there a secret chamber for cultivation in the City Lord’s Mansion?" Evan asked.
"I’m glad to see you so motivated! Here’s the key to my personal cultivation chamber—let the Second Elder take you there. I hope you gain a lot from this retreat!" The Shade Lord said, smiling with satisfaction.
Evan took the key and didn’t waste any time—he went straight to find the Second Elder. He knew he didn’t have much time left; he had to boost his strength fast to finish his mission, and those who’d wronged him had to pay a heavy price...
