"Hank, I know you have a lot of money, but that's your money—it has nothing to do with me."
Hank Chu shook his head.
Money? With him looking like that, he still has a lot of money?
Lily Yan sneered, utterly contemptuous: "You guys seriously think having a few thousand or tens of thousands makes you rich?"
"Let me tell you! Young Master Wu's family has assets over a hundred million! Hundreds of millions! Do you even know what that means? And you still act like you're some kind of rich guy? What a joke!"
Lily Yan kept shouting.
She was dying to use her sharp words to make these guys understand the massive gap between them and Ryan Wu, and realize just how insignificant they really were.
No matter how fiercely Lily yelled, Evan Lin didn't even bother to glance at her.
That made Lily Yan feel even more frustrated inside.
Getting ignored again and again by a guy who was obviously a 'poor dog'—so bluntly, so completely—sent her emotions spiraling out of control.
If Evan Lin had lost his temper and cursed her out right then, Lily Yan might have felt satisfied.
But Evan's total indifference—acting like she didn't even exist—hit Lily Yan right where it hurt.
"My money is your money. Money's just a string of numbers to me."
Evan Lin patted Hank Chu's shoulder. "Alright, enough talk. Let's go check it out together."
"I'm curious too—curious what kind of girl Hank Chu actually likes. Can't let this trip be a waste, right?"
Hearing Evan's words and seeing his encouraging look,
Hank Chu finally nodded.
They hailed a taxi by the roadside and headed toward North Hill Aviation University.
"These... these poor dogs, Young Master Wu will show them what it means to be asking for death!"
Gary He, supported by Lily Yan, hadn't dared say a word until now.
That toss from Evan Lin really did a number on him.
But he wasn't stupid.
Even though Lily Yan kept provoking him, that guy didn't seem to care at all, and didn't look like he planned to do anything.
But Lily Yan was a girl, after all.
Gary He wasn't dumb enough to mouth off again at that moment.
Otherwise, if that guy gave him another beating, he probably wouldn't make it back in one piece today.
"If these guys were really rich, would they still be taking a taxi?"
Gary He forced himself to stand up. "Help me to the car."
"Damn it, I'm going back to campus. I want to see with my own eyes how these idiot mutts get wrecked!"
He cursed under his breath, face pale, eyes full of viciousness.
"Xiaoyu, maybe you should go to the hospital first?"
Lily Yan looked at him with concern. Gary He's family had money too—not as much as Ryan Wu, but he was still pretty well-off.
Lily Yan couldn't land a listed-company golden bachelor, so she settled for fishing for second-gens like Gary He instead.
"Hospital? Forget it!"
Gary He shook off Lily Yan's hand. "Get in the car!"
"Today, Young Master Wu's older brother, Ethan Wu, is giving a talk at our school. With both Young Master Wu and his brother there—his brother's already a pilot for NewAir Airlines! Just one word from him can decide whether our grads get into NewAir or not!"
"That kid actually wants to cause trouble on our turf? They're seriously dumb—dumb as dogs! And I'm working for Young Master Wu. If I get beat up, that's slapping Young Master Wu's face! I want to see those idiots crash and burn with my own eyes!"
Gary He rattled off a whole string of threats, then his back started aching again, making him gasp for air.
Lily Yan didn't dare say anything more and hurried into the car, afraid Gary would floor it and leave her behind.
Up ahead, inside the taxi...
"We're just going like this?"
Will Han was seriously nervous. Glancing at Evan Lin in the front seat, his heart pounded: "Last time we tried to go to North Hill Aviation University, we got blocked at the gate."
"That security guard isn't exactly easy to talk to..."
Will Han might not be the brightest, but even he could tell Evan Lin wasn't simple.
Still, he wasn't sure—was Evan Lin really stronger than Young Master Wu?
After all, Young Master Wu had a listed company backing him!
Ordinary people have no idea what that kind of terrifying wealth really means.
Will Han admired Evan Lin's skills, but a lot of problems can't be solved with fists alone.
Sure, maybe they could just fight their way in from the front gate.
But that would definitely get ugly.
"You're right, we can't just go like this. Let's hit the mall first."
Evan Lin glanced at Hank Chu in the back seat through the rearview mirror. "Today is going to be a huge day for you, so you need to clean yourself up."
"Look at yourself—what do you even look like right now?"
Evan Lin shook his head.
Hank Chu was filthy, with stains and traces of alcohol all over him, and his face was grimy too.
The car stopped at the mall. Evan told the driver to wait, then led Hank Chu inside.
As they went upstairs, Evan Lin pulled out his phone and made a video call to Violet Tong.
"Ah!"
Violet Tong, busy flipping through documents at Angel Epoch Corporation and trying to adapt to her new job as fast as possible, jumped out of her chair when she saw Evan Lin's video call coming in.
She answered with an excited face.
"Hey!" Violet Tong greeted Evan Lin, full of excitement.
"Are you free right now?" Evan Lin got straight to the point.
"I'm free!" Violet Tong didn't hesitate at all. She still had a mountain of documents to review, but for Evan Lin, she was always available.
It felt almost like those imperial concubines in the emperor's harem, always waiting for his arrival.
Hank Chu and Will Han, sitting beside Evan Lin, saw the incredibly beautiful, radiant face on the phone screen.
Violet Tong was the younger sister of Violet Xuan, and she herself was stunningly beautiful.
But with so many pretty girls around Evan Lin, she didn't stand out as much.
Now, seeing her on video, Will Han's eyes went wide, and Hank Chu's heart started pounding, both of them stunned.
"Do me a favor—help my friend pick out an outfit."
Evan Lin aimed the phone camera at Hank Chu, who was standing there.
When it came to men's fashion, Evan Lin really wasn't any good at it. Let the pros handle the pro stuff—Violet Tong was the first person who came to mind.
"Go wash your face and rinse your hair first. I'll pick out the clothes—just buy whatever I tell you to."
Violet Tong was decisive and agreed right away.
"Here, take my phone. Where's yours?"
Evan Lin looked at Hank Chu, who snapped back to attention and quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket.
It was a pretty beat-up phone, with a cracked screen.
It was on silent, which explained why Evan Lin hadn't been able to reach him earlier.
"Go wash your face first. Take my phone to pick out clothes, and lend me yours—I need to make a call."
