Lily Bai’s Previous Life

Li Ao: "So..."

"The Chrono Dial requires bloodline tracking—only Phoenix Clan members can use it," Tanya Quinn said. "Since Her Majesty suspects she's Lily Bai, I'll handle it myself."

Before the Empress could reply, Tanya's hand was already pressed onto the Chrono Dial.

The Chrono Dial gave a soft 'click' as its pointer turned slightly.

A shadow flickered in the Empress's eyes, but she struggled to keep her expression composed.

Lily Bai opened her Heaven's Eye and saw a red thread shoot out from the Chrono Dial, attaching itself to her.

Other than that, she felt absolutely nothing.

After a moment, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn said calmly, "Her previous life was not Lucia Lu. She was just an ordinary Celestial Sect girl."

Lily Bai quietly let out a breath of relief.

"Really?" The Empress joked, "Divine Lord, you aren't covering for her, are you?"

"Your Majesty, I have no ties with Lucia Lu. In fact, no one in my entire Phoenix Dominion has any connection to her. If you doubt my fairness, feel free to have another trusted Phoenix Clan member do the test again."

The Empress glanced at Li Ao, who put the Chrono Dial away in his storage pouch.

So, another round then.

"Oh! I almost forgot—the Chrono Dial has already been used once, and this is the second time. If Her Majesty wants to verify again, she’ll have to wait another hundred years." Divine Lord Tanya Quinn added.

Li Ao paused for a moment, grinding his molars.

"Lily Bai, why are you still standing here? You can go back now," Tanya Quinn said, glancing at her.

Lily Bai gave a polite bow and quietly walked back to her seat.

Her legs felt a little wobbly.

After the banquet ended, the Guardian Drake Lord called Lord Faustin aside for a private word.

Lily Bai and Nine Li waited for him outside.

Nine Li stared at the top of Lily Bai's head, his big clever eyes blinking, clearly deep in thought.

"You've been staring for ages—so, has the black cloud over my head finally cleared or not?" Lily Bai asked.

Nine Li retracted his Heaven's Eye, bowed his head in mock seriousness, and said, "Heaven's secrets can't be revealed."

Lily Bai reached out, ready to tug his ear.

"It's gone, it's gone!" Nine Li quickly dodged. "There's just a little black mist left, but compared to that skull from before, it looks way friendlier now."

Lily Bai breathed a sigh of relief.

"Senior Sister," Nine Li leaned in and whispered, "Do you think Divine Lord Tanya Quinn was telling the truth?"

Lily Bai was just about to answer when Lord Faustin came out.

Before they could say anything, Lord Faustin waved his hand, "Come on! Let's go! We'll talk once we're out of here."

"Don't we need to say goodbye to the Guardian Drake Lord?" Lily Bai asked.

"No need. I've already said everything that needs saying," Lord Faustin replied. "Let's go."

The three of them rode a cloud and left the Guardian Drake Lord's estate.

Lily Bai asked, "Master, what did the Guardian Drake Lord say to you just now?"

"He said that after this, Young Master Drake's reputation has taken a huge hit. Even though the Empress and the Azure Dragon Clan haven't said anything on the surface, they're bound to be furious inside. Our Sigil Sect needs to be extremely careful, or one wrong move and we'll be in deep trouble!" Lord Faustin warned.

"Dad, what's going to happen to Young Master Drake? Will he be punished?" Nine Li asked.

Lord Faustin snorted, "What could possibly happen to him? Didn't you hear what he said? He just wanted to force Shenxiao out! All that city-slaughter stuff was done by Lord Noctis."

"He totally ordered it!" Nine Li said angrily.

"If I wiped out a clan myself, but said you ordered me to do it, do you think anyone would believe me?" Lord Faustin asked.
