Serena Feng's indifferent expression left the three Wang men puzzled. Caleb Wang, unable to hold back, blurted out, "Serena Feng, aren't you happy for my brother? His eyes have regained sight, and you healed him yourself."

This is such a joyful occasion—why does Serena Feng seem so calm about it?

Caleb Wang was baffled.

But seeing William's hopeful gaze, Serena changed her tone: "Of course I'm happy. William, congratulations on regaining your sight. From now on, you never have to worry about being unable to see again."

Serena instinctively reached out her right hand for a handshake, but halfway there, she realized it wasn't appropriate and instead placed her hand gently over William's eyes to examine them.

But seeing William's hopeful gaze, Serena changed her tone: "Of course I'm happy. William, congratulations on regaining your sight. From now on, you never have to worry about being unable to see again."

Serena instinctively reached out her right hand for a handshake, but halfway there, she realized it was inappropriate and instead placed her hand gently over William's eyes to check them.

Her actions startled everyone around.

Could something be wrong?

"What's wrong? Miss Feng, is something wrong with Ling'er's eyes?" Edward Wang Su was more anxious than anyone.

"No problem. Your condition is excellent, but you stared for too long just now—your eyes are a little tired." There was some redness in his eyes, but nothing serious, and no sign of corneal inflammation.

The recovery is remarkable. At least her three days of near-nurse-level care have paid off.

"Open your eyes." Serena Feng took out a bottle of eye drops and placed a drop in each of William Wang Jinling's eyes.

"Close them."

"So cool and soothing. Serena, you really are amazing."

You’re not exactly how I imagined, but in my eyes, you’re still the most beautiful.

I’ll never forget—the very first person I saw in my life was you!

William shut his eyes, keeping his emotions in check.

"I’m your doctor; this is my job. Keep this bottle—whenever your eyes feel uncomfortable, use a drop. But remember: for the first three months, don’t overstrain your eyes. No reading, if you can help it. You’ve got a long life ahead—don’t rush it now."

"What a delicate bottle. What’s it made of? It looks so refined." The transparent bottle and clear liquid were things he’d never seen before.

"That’s a secret. And don’t worry about the price—the eye drops are included in the thousand gold taels you already paid." Serena smiled softly.

William felt his heart skip at her smile, and awkwardly closed his eyes again.

"Serena, a thousand gold taels? Seriously? Is your treatment always this expensive?" General Warren Yu gasped.

He didn’t even own a thousand gold taels in total.

"That’s why you should be glad—I just waived your lifetime medical fees." She’d never charge a friend so much. The fee for William was to keep the Wang family from overthinking.

In the familiar darkness, William’s composure returned. When he opened his eyes again and saw Serena’s smile, he couldn’t help but praise her: "Serena, you should smile more. You’re truly beautiful when you do."

When Serena didn’t smile, her cold beauty was intimidating, unconsciously pushing people away.

"Thank you for the compliment. I’ll try. But can I trouble you with something, Young Master?" She wanted to smile every day, but her profession—and her current situation—meant she couldn’t always wear a cheerful face.

"Huh? What is it?" William saw the confidence in Serena’s eyes dimmed by sorrow, and felt a pang of sympathy.

He’d forgotten the immense pressure Serena bore to cure his eyes; forgotten the crowd outside, waiting to pounce; forgotten that a woman had given her life for this operation.

Serena looked away from William, turning instead to General Warren Yu. "If there's nothing else, let's go out. General Warren, I'll need your help for what comes next."

William felt a flicker of disappointment, but he knew the bigger picture mattered more.

Serena only remembered people's titles when she was delegating tasks. General Warren Yu was used to her bluntness—if she ever acted polite, he'd find it strange.

"Don't worry, nothing will go wrong. I've already sent word to the palace about William's recovery. With Ninth Royal Uncle on our side, no one will dare cause trouble." There was a hint of menace in Warren's eyes.

......

Serena Feng, William Wang Jinling, Edward Wang Su, Caleb Wang, and General Warren Yu strode out together. As they reached the front courtyard, the sound of noisy shouting from outside reached their ears.

"Serena Feng, are you afraid to come out and face us?"

"Fraud! Serena Feng is just a swindler who cheats people out of their money and their lives."

"Ha! That arrogant girl thinks having General Warren Yu as her backer means she can do whatever she wants? How naive. She's about to pay for it now."

"I'm getting too old for this—actually believed a little girl could cure the young master's eyes. What a waste of time."

"Serena Feng probably ran away ages ago. We've been waiting here for nothing."

......

For three days, everyone inside Feng Manor had been tense, and those outside were just as anxious. Today, the fate of many people would be decided...

"General Warren Yu, have your men open the gates." Serena's expression turned cold, her eyes glinting with the same icy light she had when she drew her gun to kill.

General Warren Yu raised his hand, and two soldiers rushed forward, their excitement barely contained.

They were eager to see the crowd's reaction when they finally laid eyes on the Wang family's young master.

With a loud creak, the tightly shut gates of Feng Manor finally swung open, just as everyone had been waiting for.

"They're coming out! They're coming out!" someone shouted, and suddenly the noisy crowd fell silent.

Without needing orders, the soldiers rushed out in orderly ranks, clearing a path for Serena and William and holding back the surging crowd.

Of course, the Master of the Mystic Healer Valley, Imperial Physician Yuan hired by the Hsieh Clan, and several self-proclaimed famous doctors were all ushered to the front row.

"You can go out now." General Warren Yu saw that the way was clear, nodded at Serena, and tactfully stepped aside.

No matter how high his rank, at this moment, the only people the crowd wanted to see were Serena Feng and William Wang Jinling.

Today belonged to Serena Feng alone; this was her moment to shine.
