Evan Chu Appears

1/19/2026

On the dueling platform, the Testing Screen has only flashed three times—meaning only three people have completed the Immortal Token task and exited safely. None of those three is Evan Chu. To be honest, Evan isn’t unwilling to come out; he simply has no idea how to use the blood-lead method.

This is what frustrates Evan the most, but he has no choice but to accept reality. At this point, all he can do is wait until the time runs out and he’s forcibly teleported out—a helpless move if there ever was one.

Meanwhile, in Rainbow Court’s Martial Testing Ground, everyone is anxiously waiting. The chatter has never stopped, and what they’re talking about most is Evan Chu—the dark horse of the tournament. But almost everyone thinks he must have died inside. For someone at the God-Lord Realm to survive would be nothing short of a miracle.

Time passes, and as the minutes tick by, more and more people appear on the dueling platform. Each time someone shows up, Zoe Rainveil and Lena Zhong get excited and then disappointed—because none of them is Evan Chu.

Pretty much everyone expected to appear has already come out, but there’s still no sign of Evan Chu. This makes Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil, Blue-Shade God-Venerable, and the others increasingly anxious. Nine times out of ten, Evan must have met with disaster—otherwise he’d have come back by now.

“At this point, no one else is likely to show up. That means whoever entered may be trapped in the Origin Worldstone forever. I know this truth is a little cruel, a little hard to accept. Some of those who didn’t come out might be your friends or your family, but this is a world where the strong prey on the weak. If you agreed to enter, you have to accept the consequences.

Now, I’m going to reclaim the Origin Worldstone. Let those who advanced step forward. This time, Miss Zoe’s husband will be chosen from those who advanced at the God-Lord and God-King Realms.” announced Vice Sect Master Shangguan.

Honestly, Vice Sect Master Shangguan was confused too. Not a single disciple from the Heavenblade Sect’s Qin Tianjian branch had appeared. By all rights, that was impossible—two of them were mid-stage and late-stage God-Emperors. No matter how strong their opponents, it shouldn’t have been possible to kill them all.

Little did he know, when the Fire Dragon went to fetch tokens, it ran right into that late-stage God-Emperor youth—the same one who was Evan Chu’s senior brother. To fulfill the task Evan had given it, the Fire Dragon didn’t hesitate to kill him outright. So naturally, it’s no surprise he can’t show up here now.

“Let’s wait a little longer—maybe someone else will make it out? How about we give it another half-hour? If no one shows up after that, then we’ll choose from those already here. My daughter will just have to accept fate.” said Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil.

Vice Sect Master Shangguan could only give up, but everyone knew it was pointless anyway. They kept waiting, hoping for a miracle.

Sure enough, another blood-soaked youth appeared—but still not Evan Chu. Even so, the fact that someone could show up this late meant there was hope for others, and many people started to believe a miracle was possible.

At that moment, Evan Chu was calmly flying through the sky. He knew that to get out he needed to use the blood-lead method, but since he didn’t know how, he could only wait for the time limit to end. He had no idea how long it had been when a massive pulling force suddenly wrapped around him—he knew this was the sign he was about to be sent out.

The next thing he knew, everything went black and he was sucked into a vortex. In an instant, he reappeared on the dueling platform. Evan Chu’s sudden appearance stunned everyone—no one expected him to still be alive.

Lena Zhong and Zoe Rainveil were the most excited of all. The two girls couldn’t help but smile, and if Master Wan hadn’t pulled Lena back, she would’ve rushed onto the platform to meet Evan Chu face-to-face.

Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil finally relaxed after seeing Evan Chu appear. “Lin Feng, are you alright? Why did you only show up now? How many Immortal Tokens did you get? Why didn’t you use the blood-lead method?” she asked.

A barrage of questions left Evan Chu unsure how to respond. Vice Sect Master Shangguan interjected, “Mistress Rainveil, all these questions are unnecessary. If he’s standing here safe and sound, he’s obviously fine. Maybe he was in some special environment and couldn’t come back until now.

As for the tokens—how many do you think he could possibly get? Without fifty Immortal Tokens, the blood-lead method is useless. Even if he tried a thousand or ten thousand times, it wouldn’t work.”

Mistress Rainveil felt a little embarrassed—how could she have asked such obvious questions? Before she could say anything, Evan Chu replied, “Thank you for your concern, Mistress. I’m not so easy to kill. I did run into plenty of strong enemies, but they all ended up as lonely souls beneath my sword.

I had enough Immortal Tokens ages ago. It’s just that I only recently ascended to the God Realm and didn’t know how to use the blood-lead method. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have come out so late and made everyone worry!”

As soon as Evan Chu said this, the whole arena was stunned. He claimed he’d already collected enough Immortal Tokens—a statement that completely overturned everyone’s expectations. For a God-Lord to snatch tokens from God-Kings is hard enough, let alone fifty of them.

Now, most people were skeptical, hoping Evan would show the tokens for everyone to see. Zoe Rainveil, on the other hand, was overjoyed—if Evan had enough tokens, he could enter the final round, and she could officially choose him as her husband.

Vice Sect Master Shangguan looked Evan over and realized he’d broken through to the early-stage God-King Realm. Shangguan was shocked, and stared at Evan in disbelief. “You actually broke through to the God-King Realm? How many days were you in there? How did you break through so fast?”

“That might disappoint you, Vice Sect Master Shangguan. It’s only because I broke through that I managed to survive—otherwise, I’d have been killed by someone with an axe to grind. After all, I’m carrying auction treasures worth a fortune.” Evan Chu said calmly, knowing Shangguan would catch the hidden meaning behind his words.

“You really are a prodigy—the fastest realm-breaker I’ve ever seen. I’m sure you’ll have a place in the God Realm before long. Since you say you have enough tokens, shouldn’t you take them out and show everyone?” Shangguan said. He was already certain the people he’d sent in had been killed by this youth.

But what he couldn’t understand was how someone at early-stage God-King could possibly kill a God-Emperor. He needed an answer to that, but now wasn’t the time.

Evan Chu’s breakthrough to the God-King Realm shocked everyone. Even Master Wan of Stormtower looked at Evan in disbelief. With talent like this, it would be a shame if Evan didn’t join Stormtower. Master Wan resolved to build a relationship with him—if he couldn’t recruit Evan, at least they could become lifelong friends.

Evan Chu smiled. “Of course I’ll show my tokens—they weren’t easy to get. I wonder how many people managed to advance this time?”
