Battle Against the Immortal Beast Marshal (Part Three)
Marshal Goldrake was suspicious of Evan Chu’s identity, but right now, he couldn’t afford to dwell on it. His mission weighed heavy: destroy the Immortal Realm’s army, no matter what. Everything else could wait until victory was assured.
“Boy, today I’ll show you what true strength really is. I hope you survive long enough to witness the majesty of this marshal!” Goldrake declared, arrogance dripping from his every word.
“Old man, you talk too much! If you lose today, will you listen to me and stop this war? I want immortal beasts and the people of the Immortal Realm to live in peace. It’s a hard road, but it benefits both sides!” Evan Chu shot back, his tone bold and uncompromising.
“Lose? That word doesn’t exist in my dictionary. You’re arrogant, kid—and maybe you deserve to be—but today you have to die. You’ve blocked the advance of my immortal beast army, so I cannot let you live. If you want peace, defeat me first!” Goldrake replied, prideful and disdainful.
“You said it yourself. I trust you won’t go back on your word. Today, I’ll show you my true strength—I wasn’t using my full power before. This time, I’ll make sure you’re satisfied!” Evan Chu answered, hot-blooded and confident.
Without hesitation, Evan Chu roared, “All soldiers, retreat ten thousand li!” His thunderous command echoed in every ear. Though the warriors didn’t understand why their commander ordered a retreat in the midst of battle, they obeyed without question.
Some soldiers were just about to slay their immortal beast foes, but held back, using instant-shift to quickly leave the battlefield. At that moment, Nolan Nangong, Jade Qin, and Fairy Lynn’s master appeared a few hundred meters behind Evan Chu, but kept their distance.
Marshal Goldrake didn’t know why Evan Chu ordered his troops to retreat, but he could guess the reason—this next strike might be earth-shattering, enough to destroy everything within thousands of li.
Realizing this, Marshal Goldrake was shocked. He shouted to his own army, “All soldiers, retreat ten thousand li!” Instantly, the immortal beast troops began to withdraw. Now, only a dozen or so late-stage Immortal Emperors remained in the sky.
Some leaders left with their teams, determined to witness this world-shaking duel. Confident in their late-stage Immortal Emperor strength, they felt no need to dodge or flee.
Evan Chu glanced back at Nolan Nangong, Jade Qin, and the others, then shouted, “Brothers, leave now! This attack isn’t something you can withstand—trust me!”
Though the distance was great and Evan’s expression couldn’t be seen clearly, the anxiety and urgency in his voice were unmistakable. It was obvious this blow could even slay late-stage Immortal Emperors—a truly unimaginable battle.
Nolan Nangong immediately relayed Evan’s warning. The group, though confused, obeyed and instant-shifted thousands of li away. Now, they could no longer see the two combatants’ attacks and could only rely on divine sense to observe—yet everything was still crystal clear.
“You’re confident, boy—clever enough to withdraw your own forces. I didn’t expect you to be the Immortal commander. That’s a surprise. Maybe only someone like you is worthy to fight me. Let’s begin—I hope you won’t disappoint me.” Goldrake said, eyes blazing.
“I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I just wonder if you’ll live long enough to admire this marshal’s dashing, heroic figure!” Evan Chu retorted, playfully twisting Goldrake’s own words.
Suddenly, a tremendous aura erupted from Goldrake—one that surpassed all Immortal Realm experts. Evan Chu instantly felt a crushing pressure, as suffocating as what he’d faced from the Roc King, nearly forcing him to his knees.
Space domain! That was Evan’s first thought—he hadn’t expected Goldrake to wield such a domain, while he himself had yet to master it. Clearly, Goldrake planned to exhaust Evan’s Immortal Spirit Force with the domain, then strike with a devastating martial technique.
That would put Goldrake in an unbeatable position—at least, in theory. But reality was cruel. Evan Chu pulled several Jadeheart Lotus seeds from his storage ring and popped them into his mouth like candy, swallowing them in one go.
At the same time, Evan’s divine sense scanned the space domain for elements he could resonate with. After a few breaths, he found the metal element and achieved resonance, instantly easing much of the pressure.
Soon, he discovered the fire element and neutralized the fire domain’s pressure as well. All of this happened so quietly that Goldrake, formidable as he was, had no idea Evan had already dissolved his space domain. For now, the domain posed no threat to him at all.
With the pressure gone, Evan Chu felt a wave of relief. He immediately began circulating his Chaos Immortal Force, and the Jadeheart Lotus seeds he’d just swallowed restored more than half of his depleted energy. Truly, a heaven-defying treasure.
But Evan’s supply of Jadeheart Lotus seeds was running low—he’d have to save them, especially with the Immortal-Demon War looming. Still, right now, making Marshal Goldrake submit was his top priority.
Evan frantically channeled all his Chaos Immortal Force into his right arm, which began to glow fiery red. This time, he poured the power of all five elements plus wind and thunder into his technique, determined to strike Goldrake with a devastating blow.
Evan knew that even with this strike, he couldn’t kill Goldrake—he was still lacking Divine Power. Divine Cleave combined with his Unicorn Arm could only unleash a bit more than half its true strength, far from what he’d hoped for.
Goldrake was clearly at demigod rank, his strength overwhelming. Evan had to go all out. His preparations were complete—his right arm was already numb, ready to release a world-shaking attack at any moment.
“So your space domain is nothing special—it hasn’t hurt me at all. Go ahead, unleash your strongest Nine-Heaven Divine Dragon Metamorphosis! Show me how powerful it really is. This might be your last chance, so use it well!” Evan taunted.
Goldrake’s expression was pure disbelief. His space domain could easily kill late-stage Immortal Emperors, yet it hadn’t affected Evan at all. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.
“Fine, boy. I’ll grant your wish—so you won’t regret it!” Goldrake growled, unleashing a terrifying demigod-rank aura. Evan could feel it—this was a power no Immortal Realm expert could match.
But now, the numbness and swelling in Evan’s right arm was unbearable. He roared, “Take this!” and unleashed Divine Cleave…
