Stirring Up Conflict

Seeing this, Evan Yang flashed away—not because he feared them, but because they were simply curious and had come over.

After Evan Yang left for a while, a group of people appeared at that spot.

"Are you sure it's him?" a young man asked the middle-aged man beside him.

The middle-aged man's eyes locked onto Evan Yang's direction and said, "It's definitely him!"

"Didn't expect to run into him here. Let's have some fun with him. Go catch him, we'll follow behind," the youth said with a playful smile, as if he was born to be mischievous.

"Young master, just watch. I'll take him down right now," the middle-aged man sneered.

That man was none other than General Northcliff. Evan Yang hadn't expected to run into them here. At this moment, he had flown some distance and only stopped once he could no longer see the place where he had just killed.

"What a hassle," Evan Yang muttered. Just then, a group of people entered the range of his divine sense.

When those people appeared, Evan Yang noticed they were heading straight for him. "That man in front looks really familiar," he thought.

As they drew closer, Evan Yang realized the middle-aged man rushing toward him looked even more familiar. Taking a closer look, he saw a mark on the man's neck.

"Damn, it's him. And those others?" Evan realized the middle-aged man was Northcliff, so he curiously looked at the others behind him, noticing they all had marks on their necks.

"So they're all from the Fiend Realm. Why are they here too? Crap, they must have spotted me killing someone earlier and followed me." Evan muttered after realizing they were all from the Fiend Realm.

General Northcliff, Sixth-Rank. Evan had fought him before; their speed was about equal, but Evan still couldn't match his strength. So as long as Evan kept flying, he could quickly shake him off.

"His strength should be at least late Divine Spirit Realm, right?" Evan muttered to himself.

Plus, the aura from the others behind him wasn't weak either. Evan estimated they were at most late Divine Spirit Realm or Divine Spirit Great Perfection. After all, no one above Divine Spirit Realm is allowed to enter here.

"So many people—not interested in playing with them." After analyzing, Evan flashed away, reaching his maximum speed.

Northcliff was shocked when Evan noticed him. "Damn it!"

"Why is his speed so fast?" the youth asked in surprise.

"No idea. Last time we chased him, his speed was just as fast," Northcliff said gloomily.

"A late Soul-Gathering cultivator whose speed can rival someone at late Divine Spirit Realm? That's impressive! Chase him—I want to know how he can be so fast," the youth said, delighted.

'Young master, I'm afraid we can't catch up unless something blocks his path,' Northcliff said helplessly. Last time, he chased Evan from the tunnel all the way to the Human World and still couldn't catch him.

'What are you afraid of? We have five people here. Everyone split up and come from different directions—we must cut him off,' the youth said, his greedy eyes smiling.

The other three obeyed and split up, while Northcliff continued in his original direction. As for the youth, he went from another direction.

'Split up? Interesting.' Seeing them split up, Evan sneered.

He had worried about them attacking together earlier, but now he had no concerns. So he kept flying—once their spiritual power ran out, he could deal with them.

That was Evan's initial plan.

Unfortunately, these people weren't simple. Each had prepared some pills, and whenever their spiritual power dropped, they took more pills.

Watching like a fierce tiger, Evan muttered, 'Damn, so many pills—what kind of people are these?'

Evan locked onto them with his divine sense and found that two were obviously stronger and slowly approaching him. If things kept on like this, they'd catch him soon.

Just then, Evan spotted a group of people. 'Aren't those Fenn Family members?'

He looked: on one side were Fenn Family people, behind him were Fiend Realm people. He had been wondering how to escape, but now he had a plan. With a flash, he flew toward the Fenn Family group.

The Fiend Realm people had no idea why Evan changed direction, so they changed direction too.

As he neared the Fenn Family, those cultivators were originally searching for gems, but suddenly saw a man rushing toward them.

Evan, dressed as a beggar, smiled at them and flew directly overhead.

'Isn't that the Genius Pavilion disciple wanted by the clan?' one person exclaimed. The others listened and looked closely at Evan.

After confirming it was Evan, they all started chasing him. Those who hadn't reacted yet listened to their companions, dropped what they were doing, and joined the chase.

'Evan, stop right there!' shouted the Fenn Family cultivator flying in front.

The rest also shouted, obviously wanting Evan to stop. But Evan was so fast, they could only follow behind.

What started as just a few dozen people soon grew to hundreds, and eventually over a thousand Fenn Family cultivators chasing Evan, cursing at him as they went.

The Fiend Realm people were completely confused. They'd just been chasing Evan, but suddenly over a thousand people appeared in front of them, blocking their path.

Especially since no one could fly high here—they could only skim low to the ground. No one knew why, but not a single person flew upward, so the Fiend Realm people had to follow behind the Fenn Family.

Evan smiled, 'Let's see if you can keep chasing me!'

For the Fiend Realm people to catch Evan, they'd have to get around these thousand people, which would delay them.

They thought it was just a thousand people—at worst, they'd go around. But the Fiend Realm people soon looked even gloomier; for some reason, the crowd kept growing.

Evan, at the front, didn't know what was happening either. There had been just a thousand people, but the number kept increasing. Even his divine sense couldn't lock onto everyone, so he focused it around himself to guard against sneak attacks.

An hour passed, and Evan found himself followed by five thousand people. He couldn't understand how he'd suddenly become so attractive, drawing even those searching for gems.

Evan wasn't familiar with any of them—enemy or friend, he just kept flying. He flew at that speed for a whole day. Those without pills stopped halfway, while those with pills kept chasing him like addicts.

The number gradually dropped from over five thousand to a thousand, then just a few hundred, with all kinds of people mixed in.

Evan only stopped when a boundless lake appeared before him.

'Why is there a lake here?' Evan's divine sense couldn't see through the lake's secrets. There was no land ahead, and the pursuers were coming up behind him.

Especially these few hundred people—they were the ones who remained, all at Spirit-God Realm or higher, many at Great Perfection.

Seeing Evan stop, everyone else stopped too, and after looking around, they all showed expressions of anger and surprise.

'Kid, you can't escape now,' sneered the Fenn Family guard.

It's not that I can't escape—I'm just curious where this lake leads,' Evan said with a smile.

'It leads to the Road of Death,' the Fenn Family members sneered.

Just then, the Fiend Realm people caught up. They all looked sour-faced—they'd thought they could easily catch Evan, but suddenly so many people blocked their way.

Among the few hundred people, some were Fenn Family, five were Fiend Realm, and others had revealed themselves as Ninefold Palace members or were of unknown identity.

Evan heard most of them talking about him having an immortal artifact.

When Evan heard their words, he finally understood—they all thought he was being chased by so many people because he had an immortal artifact. In the past, only those who obtained such an artifact would be pursued by so many.

So an unknown person stood to the side and laughed, 'Kid, hand over the immortal artifact and you can leave.'

'Who are you?' a Fenn Family member asked unhappily.

'Why should I tell you?' the man replied, refusing to give the Fenn Family any respect.

Then everyone started arguing, while the Fiend Realm people kept their eyes fixed on Evan.

Evan grinned and said, 'The immortal artifact? It's already been taken by those five.' He pointed at Northcliff and the others.

Northcliff and the others were shocked, especially Northcliff, who shouted, 'Kid, when did you give me the immortal artifact? Don't make things up!'

'Still denying it? I gave it to you a day ago, but you wanted to kill me, so I kept running. Then I ran into the Fenn Family—they have a grudge with me, so they chased me. As for the others, you all think I have an immortal artifact, right? You're wrong. Any immortal artifact I got is with them now.' Evan said convincingly.

His words immediately made those chasing the artifact focus on the five, while some from the Fenn Family and Ninefold Palace eyed the artifact, but others still targeted Evan.

Evan's life was valuable, so whether he had the artifact or not, they wouldn't let him go.

Northcliff and his group now faced everyone's suspicion, and some had already surrounded them.

Standing by the lake, Evan could see the five looking very uncomfortable. The youth seemed ready to explode, his face red but not making a move.

No matter who has the immortal artifact, today we'll capture you anyway!' the Fenn Family member said coldly.

Then a Ninefold Palace member stepped forward, 'He's wanted by Ninefold Palace. You Fenn Family only want his corpse, right? After we're done, we'll hand him over to you.'

'What kind of talk is that?' the Fenn Family member protested.

But Ninefold Palace wouldn't give up so easily.

Watching hundreds of people argue for different reasons, Evan secretly enjoyed it and mocked them, thinking, 'So many people, so many immortal artifacts—how can they split my life?'

Evan was using their goals against them, putting himself in danger so they'd argue. Some clever ones didn't join in, silently tracking Evan's movements.

Enough arguing!' At that moment, a man from the Fenn Family spoke up.

Bold words! Who are you to stop us from arguing?' Everyone looked at the man.
