The Handsome Man of the Future

Lily Evans saw through Cynthia Wu's worries, took her hand, and said, "Cynthia, don’t fret. The spice issue is just a temporary setback. Once we figure out the cause, we’ll find a solution."

Cynthia Wu sighed and nodded, "Let’s hope so."

After Mark Hunter and his wife bid farewell to the manor, Lily finally had a moment to relax. She sat in her room with Belle, massaging her tense brow.

"Princess Consort, the young heir is hungry and crying," a maid reported from outside.

Only then did Lily remember she’d been so busy she’d forgotten about her son. Now, Charles Hayes was fed by both Lily and the wet nurse. When Lily was out, the wet nurse handled feedings, but when she was home, she insisted on nursing him herself.

"Princess Consort, go tend to the young heir. I need to get back to take care of Connor. My mother-in-law’s watching over him, so I’m not worried," Belle said, rising to leave.

"Belle, your mother-in-law really is dependable. Thanks to her help with Connor, you’ve been able to lend me a hand." Lily and Belle left the room together, each heading off to find their own child.

Lily lifted the curtain and entered the room, but didn’t hear Charles crying. To her surprise, she found Alexander Hayes holding their son, somehow managing to calm the fussy child.

"This little rascal always behaves for his father," Lily said with a smile, taking her son from Alexander and starting to nurse him.

Seeing that pale expanse, the hungry Prince of Qin gulped so loudly that even Lily heard it.

Lily’s face flushed. She quickly turned away and scolded, "Hold it in! Are you planning to steal your son’s food? Honestly, you’re a prince—try to have a little dignity."

Alexander Hayes burst out laughing. "This little brat’s been monopolizing his dad’s wife since birth. When he’s older, I’ll toss him into the army and see how he fares!"

"Nonsense! Charlie’s health is frail—he couldn’t handle army life," Lily shot back, giving him a glare.

"Darling, a man needs an heir for his legacy. If you give me a few more children, I’ll spare Charlie from military training," Alexander said with a sly grin.

Lily's face turned even redder. She couldn't be bothered to bicker with Alexander's teasing. After feeding her son, Alexander expertly took the baby, held him upright in his arms, and gently patted his back to help him burp.

Watching Alexander care for their son, Lily saw that he was becoming more and more skilled. Changing diapers, bathing, dressing, burping Charles—he did it all with practiced ease, not at all inferior to Lily as his mother.

There are many men who always say that men aren't attentive and can't handle caring for babies, but Lily didn't think that was true.

As long as someone is willing to learn and put in the effort, anyone can master caring for a child. It's just that some men are lazy and afraid of hard work, unwilling to look after their children, always making excuses and pushing all the dirty, tiring chores onto the mother, leaving themselves free of responsibility.

Lily glanced down at her son. Charles Hayes was growing fast, his features delicate and bright, with a mischievous glint in his eyes—just like his mother.

"He’s going to be a handsome young man," Lily said softly.

Alexander grinned, "With a mother like you, of course he’ll be good-looking. As for me, I’m just the henpecked husband in this family!"
