When Evan Chu stepped into Selena's room, he found several people already gathered at her bedside. As soon as he entered, every gaze shot straight to his arm.
"Evan, you really got your arm back? Am I seeing things, or is this for real? That's just too unbelievable!" Sis Ping exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock.
Evan Chu grinned and swung his arm. "No tricks, it's the real deal—fully restored! Pretty awesome, right?"
"Awesome, seriously awesome! We're all so happy for you. And Selena should wake up in the next couple days—just look at her, her complexion's way better already!" Sis Ping said warmly.
After checking on Selena at the bedside, Evan nodded in agreement with Sis Ping. "Selena's recovery is all thanks to Gavin Wei—he's been incredible. I know we've all worried about her for ages, but now, finally, we can breathe easy."
"Selena hasn't woken up yet, so don't get ahead of yourself! We've still got to be careful and take good care of her," Sis Ping reminded him.
"That's right. Sister-in-law Selena's soul is still fragile—she needs real rest. Once she wakes up and takes the Soul Mushroom, she'll be fine. By the way, boss, how did you even regrow your arm? I've never heard of anything like this!" Gavin Wei chimed in, full of curiosity.
"My arm, huh? It's honestly kind of wild now. Want to see something cool?" Evan Chu said with a mischievous smile.
"If you say it's amazing, then it must be something special. Come on, show us—open our eyes a bit!" Gavin Wei laughed.
Evan Chu saw everyone's eager faces and grinned. "Just don't freak out, okay?" With that, he channeled fire-elemental power into his arm—instantly, it vanished and transformed into a blazing mass of flame.
The sight left everyone stunned; they stared in confusion, unable to grasp how Evan Chu's arm could suddenly become pure flame. Before anyone could react, his arm transformed again, this time into Mystic Ice, appearing before their eyes as a glistening, frozen limb.
Things just kept getting stranger, leaving the group speechless. Evan Chu injected light-elemental power once more, and his arm disappeared into thin air, leaving only empty space where it should have been.
"Evan, what happened to your arm? Don't scare us like that—what is going on?" Princess Ivy couldn't help but cry out.
"Relax, my arm's still here. I just wanted to give you all a little shock—isn't it pretty wild?" Evan Chu laughed.
"Wild? It's downright unbelievable! How did you even do that?" Princess Ivy voiced the question on everyone's minds.
Evan Chu restored his arm and explained, "This is my new arm—it's built from the power of all nine elements, and it's called the Chaos Arm. I went through hell to get it, suffering agony in seclusion, but now the pain was worth it!"
"You're such a freak! Everything that happens to you is just impossible. But honestly, we're all happy you got this heaven-defying arm. Let's settle down, everyone—wait until Selena wakes up before making a fuss!" Faye Knox teased, but her eyes shone with real joy for him.
"Dad, is your arm super powerful now? How did you make it happen?" Ethan Chu asked, eyes wide with awe.
"Tian'er, that's a long story. I'll tell you all about it when we have time, okay? For now, let's stay quiet—your aunt still hasn't woken up, and she needs a peaceful environment to recover." Evan Chu said gently.
The family kept vigil in the room for nearly half a day. Suddenly, Selena's finger twitched—barely perceptible, but most of them saw it. Lynn Chu cried out, "I saw Mom's finger move! I really saw it move!"
"Lynn, I saw it too! Looks like your mom's about to wake up. Let's not disturb her at this crucial moment," Evan Chu urged.
About an hour later, Selena coughed twice, and a faint flush returned to her pale cheeks. She slowly opened her eyes, and Evan Chu gripped her hand tightly, unable to hide his excitement.
"Sel, you're finally awake! You scared me half to death!" Evan Chu exclaimed, voice trembling with relief.
Selena glanced at Evan Chu and then at the others, her voice weak but sincere. "Sorry to worry everyone, and thank you for taking care of me."
"Boss, she's awake, but her body is still dangerously weak. I'll guide her to absorb the Soul Mushroom's soul power—this process may take a whole day. You all should leave for now; once she's finished, she'll be bursting with energy again, so don't worry!" Gavin Wei announced.
Hearing Gavin Wei's advice, Evan Chu felt awkward lingering. "Let's head out, everyone. I've been back for days and haven't visited Frostbane Grand Hall yet. I need to check on the palace's situation—it's about time I asked around."
The group left Selena's room, leaving Gavin Wei to focus on her treatment. At Frostbane Grand Hall, Evan Chu summoned all the key figures of Frostbane Imperial Palace for a meeting.
"Everyone did great in the Immortal–Demon War. We didn't let the realm down and beat back the Demonic army. It was a hard-won victory, but the casualties were heavy. How's the postwar recovery going?" Evan Chu asked from the head of the hall.
"Palace Lord, all postwar matters have been handled. The Demonic army was stronger than ever, but our Immortal Realm pulled off a miracle—winning against the odds. And it was all because you slew the Demonic commander, the Yin–Yang Demon Empress," Blazefire Immortal Emperor reported.
"People all over the Immortal Realm admire you. Many cities have even built statues in your honor—something that's never happened before," Blazefire Immortal Emperor added, his tone full of pride.
"Blazefire, this was your idea, wasn't it? I knew you couldn't help yourself. So, has anything major happened in the Immortal Realm lately? What's going on with the immortal beasts?" Evan Chu asked, half-joking.
"The immortal beasts are behaving themselves now and living peacefully with the Immortal Realm's people. You can rest easy!" Blazefire Immortal Emperor replied.
After Evan Chu asked a few more questions, everyone left the hall. The Immortal Realm was at peace, and Evan felt a deep sense of relief. He wondered if it was finally time to ascend to the God Realm—just the thought put him at ease.
Evan Chu wandered alone to the mountaintop behind Frostbane Imperial Palace, quietly gazing into the distance. Memories of his journey through the Immortal Realm flooded his mind, leaving him unsettled. In the Immortal–Demon War, he'd slaughtered countless Demonic soldiers—and even some Immortal soldiers caught in the chaos. All that bloodshed weighed heavily on him.
He didn't even know how high his 'slaughter value' had climbed. It would be a huge disadvantage for ascending to the God Realm—maybe even cause unpredictable changes during his God-Tribulation. That was what worried him most.
A mountain breeze cleared Evan Chu's mind. "Evan, here you are! I've been searching for you everywhere. Selena's already recovered—who would've thought the Soul Mushroom's power was so strong? She absorbed it all in just half a day!" Yvonne Xuan's voice rang out from behind him, full of relief and surprise.
