Decisive Battle, Severing the Road of Life

2/14/2026

Lady Min's most formidable subordinates were the batch of dead-men she took with her. Those left behind, though skilled martial artists, were nothing compared to Prince Nolan and Sean Xuan—they were worlds apart. Prince Nolan and Sean Xuan didn't fear these people at all. If only this group stood in their way, even fighting their way down the mountain wouldn't be much trouble.

But the Ghost Hall killers were a different matter. There weren't many of them, but every one was elite—their hidden weapons were as fast as Serena Feng's bullets. One black iron shard even sliced open Serena's arm; fortunately, it missed the tendons and veins, drawing only a little blood.

Prince Nolan's martial arts were indeed formidable, but even he couldn't hold out against a dozen coordinated attackers—especially with someone on his back, limiting both his speed and technique.

"Put him down first," Sean Xuan said after trading a blow with the Ghost King. The Ghost King immediately refused to strike again.

Sean Xuan was no match for him.

Sean knew just how dangerous the Ghost King was. Seeing Prince Nolan hampered by carrying Vincent Su, he realized that if the fight went on like this, they would definitely be at a disadvantage.

Prince Nolan found himself increasingly constrained as the fight dragged on. He had considered putting Vincent Su down, but...

It was simply too dangerous.

"Give him to me—I'll support him," Serena Feng stepped forward and took Vincent Su from Prince Nolan's back.

She drew her gun and, supporting Vincent Su, retreated to a corner. Only then could Prince Nolan and Sean Xuan fully unleash their skills.

Anyone who witnessed the miraculous power of Serena Feng's Smart Med-Pack wanted to claim it for themselves. Both Serena and Prince Nolan knew this well, so Serena was always careful, never daring to use the Med-Pack openly—until now.

This time was different. Vincent Su was on the edge of death, and she couldn't let him die in front of her just to protect her secret. Besides, after today's battle, if the Ghost King didn't kill them, they'd have to kill him. If the Smart Med-Pack's secret was exposed, it didn't matter anymore.

"Idiot." Whether it was the medicine working or just his own will, Vincent Su felt his mind clear. Seeing Serena risk everything and expose her secret for his sake, his eyes reddened with emotion.

The last thing he wanted was to drag Prince Nolan and Serena down with him, but in the end, he had implicated them both.

"You're the real idiot. Stay put and don't move. Your wound is festering, and I don't have time to bandage you. I'll just sprinkle some powder to keep it from getting worse." Serena quickly dusted Vincent's wound with medicine. She wanted to wrap it, but there was no time.

After the Ghost King declared he wanted Serena's arm, the Ghost Hall assassins immediately targeted Serena and Vincent. Serena tossed aside the medicine bottle and fired her gun.

Though some Ghost Hall assassins had seen the power of a gun before, these few hadn't truly felt the speed of a bullet. By the time they tried to dodge, it was already too late.

Caught off guard, Serena managed to take down the first wave of attackers. But to her frustration, those behind quickly learned, grabbing corpses to shield themselves and leaving her with no good shot.

"Go, quickly..." As the Ghost Hall assassins drew closer, Vincent Su hurriedly pushed Serena away. "Don't worry about me." Unlike Lady Min's feigned despair, Vincent truly meant what he said.

"We're here to save you. How could we possibly leave you behind?" Serena turned and hoisted Vincent onto her back. "Don't move—I don't have the strength to carry you properly."

At best, Serena could only drag Vincent along as she moved.

His feet scraped along the ground, leaving bloody trails, but Vincent Su felt no pain.

For this life, it was worth it.

Serena didn't drag Vincent very far—just behind a rock. Whether he'd need them or not, she shoved a dagger and a Tiger Claw into his hands.

"Stay put. They won't be coming for your life anytime soon." Right now, she was the one drawing all the aggro; the Ghost Hall assassins wouldn't bother with someone as powerless as Vincent.

Sure enough, as soon as Serena ran, the Ghost Hall assassins chased after her. To catch up quickly, they had to drop the corpses they'd been using as shields, making it easier for Serena to shoot.

Every so often, she turned and fired a shot. Her aim wasn't great, but it was enough to keep them from closing in.

"Damn it." Prince Nolan looked worriedly at Serena. He knew that, with or without the Smart Med-Pack, Ghost Hall wouldn't spare the three of them. But seeing Serena hunted made him anxious all the same.

"Let's finish these guys off quickly, then we can help Serena." Sean Xuan, afraid Prince Nolan would get distracted, quickly reminded him. Nolan nodded, seeing that Serena wasn't in immediate danger, and forced himself to focus on the fight, determined to relieve the pressure on her...

Anyone who saw Serena Feng press her arm and pull items out of thin air would be curious.

"So that's where their weapons are hidden." The Ghost King realized that the chaos earlier was because they suddenly produced weapons. He hadn't understood before, but now it made sense.

"Truly hiding their strength. No wonder that old witch from the Former Dynasty went to such lengths to kill these three. If they survive, they'll be formidable enemies in the future." A chilling gleam of murderous intent flashed in the Ghost King's eyes.

Naturally, this was exactly why the Ghost King found her so interesting.

"I want that woman's arm." The Ghost King licked his lips, greed written all over his face.

Freed from Vincent Su's burden, Prince Nolan fought with complete abandon. The Ghost Hall assassins hadn't expected him to become so fierce; in a flash, several were taken down by his hand.

With the pressure on Sean Xuan greatly reduced, the two joined forces, one in front and one in back, fighting side by side in a bloody battle.

"Such experts are rare in the martial world." As his subordinates fell one after another, the Ghost King remained utterly calm, not even bothering to intervene. His gaze drifted to Serena Feng and Vincent Su, and his interest was instantly piqued: "Interesting." He flicked a stone from his hand, neatly taking out an enemy rushing Serena's way.

Serena glanced at the Ghost King but said nothing, continuing to pull out wound medicine and anti-inflammatory pills from her Smart Med-Pack, feeding them to Vincent Su in quick succession. Seeing the Ghost King block the Ghost Hall attackers for her, Serena pressed further and took out a syringe, administering an intravenous injection directly to Vincent.

"Alright." It was the best choice. After Prince Nolan handed Vincent Su over to Serena Feng, he carved out another escape route, making it easier for Serena to find a place to hide.
