Divine Commanders’ Training Camp

She sat with perfect poise, her aura calm and her expression serene. With a faint smile, she said, "Father, Mother, you really don’t need to worry yourselves! If I ever get married, it’ll be to someone I truly connect with. When I find that person, I’ll let you know."

Quentin Lian and Vivian Lu really did spoil their children outrageously.

What would get you scolded in other families, they actually thought made perfect sense. Nodding, they said, "Of course you should look for someone you truly connect with. If you find someone you like, just tell us."

"You two spoil her way too much," Tanya Lu said.

"If we don’t spoil our own kids, who will?" Vivian Lu replied with a smile.

Tanya Lu took a deep breath and said nothing more.

Just then, a Divine Attendant arrived to announce that Qilin Divine Lord Soren Lann was here.

The whole family quickly got up to greet him.

Soren Lann entered wearing simple everyday clothes and said, "Master, Mistress, whenever you host a family banquet, you always invite your inner disciples. So why am I the only one left out today?"

"How could we dare trouble the great Divine Lord?" Vivian Lu said with a laugh.

"Mistress, if you say that, I’m heartbroken. What, now that I’m a Divine Lord, I’m doomed to be the lonely one no one loves anymore?"

"Oh, come now! How could we ever!" Vivian Lu laughed, inviting him to take a seat. "It’s just that your status is a little different now!"

But Soren just walked over and sat down next to Ryan Lu. "Scoot over," he said.

"Ha! Divine Lord, you may have ascended, but you haven’t changed a bit. I’m not scared of you at all!" Ryan Lu scooted over to make room for him.

"If you’re not scared, clearly I’m not intimidating enough." Soren Lann deliberately put on a stern face. "How about this? Scared now?"

Ryan Lu couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Then Soren Lann laughed too. He looked across at Lucia Lu, his eyes gentle with amusement, and asked, "I heard you two got into trouble again today! You even wrecked the peach grove?"

Lucia Lu: "What do you mean, 'again'? It’s not like we’re always getting into trouble."

"Oh, please. It’s not like you two don’t cause trouble all the time!" Ethan Lu sneered. "You’re both just bored!"

Neither of them dared say a word.

"Father, Mother," Ethan Lu said again. "Recently, Drake Abyss has established a Divine Commanders’ Training Camp, personally overseen by His Majesty, with the Azure Dragon Lord and Guardian Drake Lord in charge of training. The announcement calls for young gods from the three Divine Realms to sign up. I want Ryan to enroll—otherwise he’ll just keep loafing around and causing trouble."

"Divine Commanders’ Training Camp?" Ryan Lu’s eyes went wide. "What do they even do there?"

"It’s for plucking peach fuzz for the Celestial Empress," Lucia Lu said, barely holding back a laugh.

Ryan Lu: "Shut up!"

Lucia Lu: "Father, Mother! He can’t even handle peach fuzz! Without his attendants, he’s basically helpless—he can’t do anything! He absolutely needs to join the army and fix those habits!"

"Who are you calling helpless?"

"Whoever can’t handle peach fuzz, obviously!"

"You—"

"Yes! Good! That’s an excellent idea!" Quentin Lian said. "In times of peace, you kids are way too spoiled. You all need some training! The Drake Abyss Palace Guard Barracks are the strictest place—so all three of you are going!"

Lucia Lu was dumbfounded. "Father! I’m a Spiritual Alchemist—what am I supposed to do there?"

Quentin Lian: "A Spiritual Alchemist is most valuable on the battlefield!"

"Exactly! I’m being forced to go by my own father too! Let’s suffer together!" Adrian Drake looked at them with hopeful eyes.

But at that moment, Soren Lann gently interjected, "If the two senior sisters don’t want to go, let it be. After all, girls shouldn’t be forced into military camps—they’re much too austere."
