The four women found Evan Chu's words strange—how could a piece of clothing possibly have any sort of feeling? It sounded completely ridiculous, but none of them wanted to ask him why.
Evan Chu spoke up, "I know you all have questions in your hearts, and honestly, I do too. This feeling is blurry, but also very real. I can't explain why it's like this, but now isn't the time to get into it. Right now, Frostbane Sect needs everyone working together if we're ever going to become a truly great sect."
"Evan Chu, don't worry, we'll do our best to help you. But since you've recovered, shouldn't you come back to our sects with us? So, which sister are you bringing home this time?" Selena Yale asked.
This was the hardest question for Evan Chu to face. If Selena wanted to return to the Demon Realm, that was impossible and could be skipped; Selena Yale could be considered last. But the toughest choice was between Lynne Nie and Serena Dream.
If he accompanied Serena Dream back to Freewind Palace first, it would look like he was snubbing Bloodfiend Hall. But if he went with Lynne Nie to Bloodfiend Hall, it would seem like he was looking down on Freewind Palace. If only he could split himself in two, it would be so much easier.
The most awkward part was that Lynne Nie was still a virgin. If he escorted her back to Bloodfiend Hall, people might notice—and he honestly had no idea how he'd explain that to the Bloodfiend Hall Master.
Seeing the troubled look on Evan Chu's face, the four women felt awkward too. Selena Yale spoke up first: "You can take the other sisters home. I don't need you to come with me—I'll wait until you're all back, then I'll return to my sect."
"I don't need you to come with me either. You know my situation—even if I wanted to go back, I might not be able to. Evan Chu, just decide if you'll go with Serena or Lynne," Selena said.
"Evan Chu, you should take Serena home first. I'll wait for you to come back before I return. After all, we haven't... you know... yet. If the sect finds out, it'd be super embarrassing." Lynne Nie said, blushing.
"Haha, Lynne, are you just desperate to get into the bridal chamber with Evan Chu? Of the four of us, you're the only one who hasn't done it yet. Are you getting anxious?" Selena teased, laughing.
"What are you talking about? That's nonsense, and you're embarrassing me! I don't have those thoughts, so stop making stuff up!" Lynne Nie retorted immediately.
After thinking for a moment, Evan Chu said, "Alright, I'll go with Serena this time. When we come back, I'll accompany Lynne home. I know this might be unfair to Lynne, but I trust she won't blame me for playing favorites."
Serena Dream wanted to say something, but held back at the last moment. Evan Chu glanced at her and said, "Serena, tomorrow I'll go with you to Freewind Palace. I also want to see how the Freewind Palace Lord reacts to my Divine Dragon identity."
Afterwards, Evan Chu and the women went to the main hall to eat with Heaven Ape, Joan He, and the others. He briefly explained that he'd be accompanying the women back to their sects, and no one had any objections.
That night, Evan Chu didn't have Lynne Nie stay with him. Even though she was the only one of the four who hadn't truly been with him yet, he wasn't in a rush—he'd wait until they returned. So that night, Serena Dream accompanied him instead.
It was destined to be another sleepless night. The two of them battled through several rounds until dawn, and Serena Dream finally drifted off to sleep, satisfied, in Evan Chu's arms.
Early the next morning, Evan Chu got up. He hadn't slept at all, but at his cultivation level, sleep wasn't necessary. He spent the night thinking about his next moves.
By the time Serena Dream woke up, it was already broad daylight. After getting dressed, she and Evan Chu left the room. Evan gave a few instructions to some key people in Frostbane Sect, then left together with Serena.
While flying through the air, Evan Chu said to Serena Dream, "Serena, want me to carry you while we fly? You're really slow—at this rate, we won't get to Freewind Palace until afternoon."
"I just want to fly slowly with you. I love this feeling—right now, you're all mine, and no one else is fighting for you." Serena Dream said with a smile.
Evan Chu didn't say much, and just as he'd predicted, the two of them didn't reach Freewind Palace until afternoon. The gate disciples saw them and immediately greeted them respectfully: "Greetings, son-in-law!" "Greetings, Miss!"
Evan Chu felt a bit awkward—why did these people call him 'son-in-law' instead of Frostbane Sect Master? It was like they were lowering his status a notch, but he couldn't really complain.
Then the two entered the main hall. The Freewind Palace Lord was sitting on the throne, and when she saw Evan Chu and Serena Dream come in, she forced a smile. Evan Chu could tell it was a bit strained.
"Greetings, Master!" "Greetings, Palace Lord!" the two said in turn to the Freewind Palace Lord.
"Evan Chu, I'm relieved you're safe. Your wedding at Frostbane Sect really shook up the entire Azure Tide Ruins. Everyone's talking about you now—no one expected you to be a Dragon Pearl descendant!" the Freewind Palace Lord said.
"I was surprised myself when my dragon form showed up, but it won't happen again. Palace Lord, you won't hold my dual identity against me, will you?" Evan Chu said with a smile.
"Of course not. Serena is like a daughter to me, so you’re naturally my son-in-law. But since you’re a sect master, we can skip some of the formalities. You brought Serena home for her return visit, didn’t you?" the Freewind Palace Lord asked.
"That's right, I brought Serena for her return visit. Palace Lord, you seem troubled. Is there anything I can help with?" Evan Chu asked.
The Freewind Palace Lord smiled, "I'd love your help, Evan Chu, but I'm afraid this is beyond you. It's my own fault for spoiling him so much—now things have gotten out of hand."
"Master, what happened? Is it about Brother Yu?" Serena Dream asked immediately.
"That's right. Yu'er has been struck by an extremely rare gu poison. Even I can only suppress it by channeling Stellar Power into him every few hours. But the poison keeps getting worse—now I have to infuse Stellar Power every three hours just to keep it at bay," the Freewind Palace Lord said helplessly.
"What kind of gu poison did Soaring Feather Young Lord get hit with? Is it the Heaven-Silkworm Gu? If it is, Evan Chu might be able to cure it," Evan Chu said.
"You can really cure the Heaven-Silkworm Gu? That's exactly what Yu'er has! If you can heal him, Freewind Palace will owe you a huge favor!" the Freewind Palace Lord said.
"No need to be so formal—I'm your son-in-law, after all. Come on, take me to see Ethan Fenn. I just hope it's not too late. If the child-gu has reached his heart, there's nothing I can do!" Evan Chu said.
The three of them entered a secret chamber. A yellow-faced, emaciated youth was lying on the floor, groaning. Evan Chu was shocked—he never imagined that the once-elegant Ethan Fenn would end up like this... (Woke up late, will continue later)
