The grain yield here is enormous—enough to feed nearly half the population of the Grant Domain. The road leading in is a broad, straight path between two mountains. The scenery now looks rather bleak: most of the crops have already been harvested, leaving only stretches of black, muddy earth.
Crisscrossing streams divide the fields into patches, and clusters of mud-brick houses are scattered near the fields, stretching into the distance. Far off, silhouettes of people still busily move about.
"Give the order—make something good to eat."
Gus Bull said with a smile, then turned his head. His expression was both cordial and inscrutable, as he watched Bella Liang approach and noticed something unusual about the horse.
"Let's take a good rest today, Yuna Ji. After so many days on the road, you must be tired."
Lan Tang glanced at Aaron Lin’s sharp, grinning face, and a vague sense of unease crept into her heart.
They had just entered the main road by the southern fields when Gus Bull immediately began arranging accommodations. At this, Lan Tang smiled and said:
"No need. There are so many empty houses here—we’ll just pick a few ourselves," Lan Tang said.
Before Aaron Lin could speak again, Lan Tang tugged Stanley Tang’s reins and quickly moved off.
"Assign people to keep a close watch on them. Tonight, we make our move."
"Chieftain, tonight might not be..."
Mark Zou sneered as he spoke.
"We can't wait for the generals from the Wynn Domain and Sage Domain to arrive. Fortunately, Lydia Lien fell ill a few days ago, and Henry Lien has gone back. When the time comes, we’ll blame it on the rioting slaves."
The surrounding generals exchanged uneasy glances. No matter what, the Tang Tribe still had over a hundred people—if they attacked rashly, it would surely cause a major uproar.
"I don't care what methods you use—deal with them tonight."
Inside the central outpost, Aaron Lin stood atop the watchtower, quietly watching as the enemy gathered once more. He felt deeply uneasy; Joseph Qiao and the others had already left, though Joseph Qiao had gone over the key points of defending the outpost with them again and again in the past few days.
"Sigh, Joseph and the others should be arriving soon. Now the enemy is gathering again. My eyelids have been twitching terribly these past few days."
A general spoke, and Aaron Lin nodded.
"Joseph already told us not to act tough. If this outpost can't hold, we retreat immediately. I've already made the preparations—if anything happens, at least we can get out quickly."
