Everything

12/15/2025

The dark clouds slowly parted, and light streamed down from the sky, shining upon the city before my eyes. A beam of light fell upon the desolate ground beneath my feet.

"Am I dreaming?"

I asked softly as a gentle wind brushed my face. Tear stains still clung to my cheeks, and beside me, the Earthly Soul smiled faintly.

"This is reality, isn't it!"

Stunned, I watched everything unfold. The sky seemed to split open, the dark clouds vanishing one by one. Wherever the light touched, the ruined city instantly returned to its former bustle—I could clearly hear the sound of cars, and from the street below the hillside where I stood, the lively marketplace. To the left was the university district, and from afar, crowds surged.

Wherever the light shone, everything was restored. My emotions surged, yet for some reason, I felt a deep sadness. The phone rang, and I answered.

"Roxie, are you alright over there? We're in Gourd Village, and everything's back to normal!"

I murmured in response, my throat tight with emotion. Through the phone, I could hear clear cheers. Gripping the phone tightly, the tears that had vanished began to flow again. I crouched down, sobbing uncontrollably.

The Earthly Soul sat beside me, placing a hand on my shoulder—silent. Everything before my eyes was real. Ethan Zhang had done it. Though I didn’t know what would happen next, he had vanished completely.

The nightmare was over. The place where I stood used to be an apartment building, but now only a patch of weed-strewn wasteland remained. It all felt like a dream, yet I was lost and at a loss.

"Where do you plan to go?"

After a long while, I asked. The Earthly Soul shook his head.

"Let's help them first. The Underworld probably no longer exists. Even if we can restore everything in the living world, it's nearly impossible for the Underworld—because time is different for the dead and the living. Choosing the living was exactly his way. What about you, Rachel Lan? What will you do?"

I shook my head. I could no longer sense Lan Yin's presence—it had been so strong before, but now, nothing.

Juchen's Instinct had already left my body. The Coexistence Instinct remained, but the instinct Ethan Zhang entrusted to me at the end—I wasn't sure what it was. Yet it quietly slumbered within me.

"Get ready, Rachel Lan. What exactly do we have to face next?"

The Earthly Soul said, and I nodded. It wasn't over yet. Though the gods had left, they were still watching this ruined world of Yin and Yang. And in this war, the Immortality Society had gained something.

A chill, accompanied by slowly falling red spider lilies, and Isabelle Frost appeared before us. There was an indescribable sorrow on her face—I'd never seen her look this way before.

"Miss Yi, is everything alright in Hell?"

The Earthly Soul asked with a smile. Isabelle Frost shook her head.

"The Six Paths of Reincarnation have collapsed. I will gradually rebuild the new Reincarnation Passage!"

With that, Isabelle Frost gently slid past us. I called out to her.

"Miss Yi, what about John Chou and the others?"

I asked, and Isabelle Frost shook her head.

Though I still held a sliver of hope, no one remained. Suddenly, I sensed a fierce ghostly aura. As I turned, I saw a rift open before me, revealing the desolate Underworld—ruins everywhere. Behind me, the Abyssal Hell still smoked with dust. Beneath the black-green sky, many ghosts survived, and everywhere, cheers rang out.

It was the sound of victory. Isabelle Frost gripped Lady Meng's staff, her face set with determination. Countless green lights sped toward us, like fireflies—growing ever brighter.

Suddenly, memories flooded back—my first outing with Ethan Zhang, in that village where humans and ghosts coexisted, and the drifting green lights we saw. Waves of strong ghostly aura descended.

One by one, Blue Wraiths landed solemnly before Isabelle Frost—elite troops under the Ghost Sovereigns. More and more Blue Wraiths arrived. They had survived, but none looked happy, especially Vivian Maple, whose eyes brimmed with tears. Beside her, Noah Grimm tried to comfort her.

"Please help me. John Chou often told me—someone must do these things. We must rebuild the Reincarnation Passage!"

Many Blue Wraiths nodded in agreement. Among them, I saw a beautiful woman in white silk, accompanied by Serena Jing, Basil Bertram's niece. The woman's smile carried deep sorrow.

"Even if we win, nothing can truly come back."

Ronan Wu smiled as he spoke. Many glanced over, but the Blue Wraiths remained silent. Behind me, several sharp currents swept in.

As I turned, the Ghost Painting Book Immortal descended slowly, followed closely by Deathcurse landing beside me.

"To live again—it's truly unexpected!"

I pursed my lips and shook my head. Isabelle Frost glanced back at me.

"Take care!"

I nodded. She turned into a streak of red light, drifting away. As the lights fell, they began to change—clusters of red spider lilies bloomed with the scattered glow, and soon I saw a sea of red spider lilies swaying in the air.

Many Blue Wraiths looked over, saying nothing. Cao Wanzhi and Victor Duan seemed to want to speak to me, but just nodded and left. More and more Blue Wraiths disappeared, following Isabelle Frost.
