Forced, A Scheming Duet Against Serena
The main hall of Feng Manor was thick with killing intent. Everyone held their breath in an unnatural silence—if a needle dropped, you’d hear it. The guards gripped their sword hilts, just waiting for Princess Yara Valen’s command to rush forward and cut down Serena Feng.
If she really did destroy diplomatic relations between two nations, killing her would be justified—and no one would dare object. But that all depended on Serena Feng actually committing such an offense.
Both Princess Yara Valen and Su Wan hoped Serena Feng would keep acting so arrogantly—today, they wanted her to pay the price for it.
They weren’t disappointed—Serena Feng was indeed arrogant. She sat there calmly, with no intention of rising, but that didn’t mean she was ignorant or foolish.
She knew perfectly well what it would cost to disrupt relations between two nations. But she also knew that a country’s dignity and pride outweighed everything else. As long as she stood on the side of national honor, she’d be fine. Serena Feng spoke, word by word:
“Princess Yara? If I’m not mistaken, you’re a princess of Lyndaria, not of the Eastlyn royal family. So what are you doing shouting in Eastlyn? Why should Eastlyn subjects kneel to a Lyndarian princess? Has Eastlyn become a vassal state of Lyndaria?”
Her last sentence was even sharper—a direct challenge.
“Serena Feng, don’t talk nonsense! You can eat carelessly but you can’t speak carelessly. Eastlyn and Lyndaria are friendly nations. I’m here as Lyndaria’s envoy, and it’s only proper for you to treat me with respect.” Princess Yara Valen’s face changed, and she quickly retorted.
“And then?” Serena Feng’s eyelids lifted slightly, her eyes full of mockery and disdain.
Did they really think she was an idiot who knew nothing?
