Adulterous Affair, Sharing a Horse

After tidying up, Serena Feng glanced at the still-unconscious coachman and said to Dominic Zhai, "Grand Heir, could I trouble your men to help carry him back to Feng Manor?"

Dominic Zhai didn't particularly like her, but for William Wang Jinling's sake, as long as her request wasn't excessive, he wouldn't refuse. Serena Feng understood these boundaries well.

The coachman's injuries weren't serious. It was just the right opportunity for Simon Sun to handle it—time for him to get some hands-on practice.

Dominic Zhai nodded. "Alright, but..."

Dominic Zhai paused, and Serena Feng, quick-witted as ever, picked up on it. "But what?"

There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world, and Serena Feng didn't think she had anything worth Dominic Zhai's interest.

Dominic Zhai stepped closer and whispered in Serena Feng's ear, "Help me take a look at someone."

"A patient?" What else could she possibly look at, if not a patient?

Dominic Zhai hesitated, then nodded. "Yes."

All the doctors said there was nothing wrong, yet this person had been bedridden for years. That counted as an illness, too. Treating a dead horse as a living one—why not give it a try? Besides, William Wang Jinling kept praising Serena Feng in Dominic's ear, saying she was good at this and good at that.

"Alright. Have your men carry him to Feng Manor, hand him over to Simon Sun, and tell him: this is his assessment." Serena Feng agreed without hesitation.

You can visit the Bloodcloak Guard at any time, but the Grand Heir of Prince Samuel Zhai isn’t someone you can just befriend whenever you like.

Honestly, the last thing she wanted was to treat the powerful, but in a world where commoners have no rights, only by treating elites can you stand firm—and only by treating elites can you make money.

If you want to rob the rich to help the poor, you’ve got to rob the rich first.

The two of them, so close in public, were breaking all the rules of propriety. Yet the woman was striking and graceful, the man imposing and charismatic—they looked like a scene straight out of a painting. Their open, dignified demeanor made it impossible for anyone to see them as vulgar.

When Dominic Zhai’s men brought his horse over, Dominic gave a strong tug and pulled Serena up behind him. The crowd erupted in cheers...

"Maniac." Serena was startled and instinctively leaned into Dominic’s arms.

"Sit tight. I’m not going to take advantage of you. Honestly, with your looks, you’re not my type." Dominic spurred his horse into a wild gallop, holding Serena securely with one hand—confident and utterly at ease.

After recovering from their injuries, Prince Terrence Valen and Princess Yara Valen continued lying low in Eastlyn, taking advantage of the chaos to make shady deals with the remnants of Julius Zhu’s faction. The siblings were in high spirits, discussing when they could openly come to Eastlyn, when they happened to look up and saw Serena Feng and Dominic Zhai riding together.

"Does this woman have no sense of propriety? Is her reputation not already bad enough?" For some reason, seeing Serena and Dominic so well-matched made Prince Terrence Valen’s eyes sting with jealousy.
