Chapter 662: Another Revelation

Strands of colored light danced across the Prismatic Record Crystal, then shot outward, converging nearby to project a three-dimensional scene.

The image revealed a table at least ten meters long, with two figures seated at either end.

One wore a captain's uniform, his signature curly red beard unmistakable—it could only be Redbeard, the infamous pirate captain.

The other man was imposing, broad-shouldered, and enveloped in a voluminous red cloak that wrapped around his entire frame.

Leon recognized him instantly—Emperor Norlick, conqueror of the Blazeforge Realm.

But what truly seized Leon's attention wasn't the man—it was the scepter clenched in Emperor Norlick's hand.

The scepter was crimson gold, covered in intricate patterns. Four prongs at the top cradled a glowing orb, within which countless spells flowed—each moment revealing a new incantation, endless, never repeating.

Leon’s eyes reddened.

"The Spellbook of Ages! That's the Spellbook of Ages!"

Atop Emperor Norlick's scepter, embedded for all to see, was none other than the Spellbook of Ages. Leon knew this artifact better than anything else—every manifestation, every secret, laid bare before him.

The moment he laid eyes on it, Leon recognized it instantly—this was one of the true forms of the Spellbook of Ages.

In that instant, Leon finally understood why no legend in the Blazeforge Realm ever spoke of Emperor Norlick possessing the Spellbook of Ages.

Because the Spellbook of Ages was Emperor Norlick's Scepter—and his scepter was the Spellbook of Ages.

At the start of the projection, Emperor Norlick glared at Redbeard, his eyes burning with fury.

“Redbeard, you have disappointed me beyond measure. We guard Constantine's resting place to ensure his eternal peace—yet you intend to take the USS Dauntless and leave? You would betray Constantine!”

“Constantine chose the Blazeforge Realm as his place of slumber, carved out a demi-plane here, even moved the God-Demon Dominion within. I was to conquer the Blazeforge Realm, you to patrol the demi-plane. And now—you seek betrayal?”

Emperor Norlick was beside himself with rage, every word ground out between clenched teeth.

Redbeard's face twisted with bitterness. “Norlick, it's not that I wish to betray Constantine. If we stay here any longer, we'll die—all of us.”

Emperor Norlick sneered, slamming his palm down and shattering the table to dust. “Nonsense! Constantine would never harm us. I see it now—you think Constantine is lost to his slumber, and so you plot betrayal!”

With a furious shout, Emperor Norlick turned and stormed away.

Redbeard rose and approached the Prismatic Record Crystal, standing before Leon. His tone was flat, but his eyes brimmed with sorrow and defiance.

"Coming here in the first place was a mistake. To get the USS Dauntless out of the demi-plane, I need Norlick's help. Since he refuses to leave, the Dauntless's fate is sealed."

"I can't accept being a mere pawn, a sacrifice. I hope someone will see these words one day, so everyone will know—the so-called Elder Age, the so-called Elder War, were nothing but a contemptible lie..."

As Redbeard finished speaking, the scene vanished completely.

Leon couldn't grasp the full meaning of Redbeard's words, but he did glean something astonishing from the vision.

Emperor Norlick was also one of Constantine's followers!

And by the look of it, a fiercely loyal one...

But Leon was thrilled. He finally knew where the Spellbook of Ages was. Based on the First Mate's Journal, he was almost certain—the Spellbook was hidden beneath the Captain's Quarters!

And since Redbeard said Norlick's help was needed, Leon guessed it must be connected to the Spellbook of Ages as well.
