Grace Framed for Harming the Celestial Empress
"Lucy!" Grace called out. "I've never had any beef with you—so why are you trying to frame me?"
"Miss Grace, you handed this bottle of medicine to the Celestial Empress yourself! I was standing right there! If you hadn't given it to her, how could she have swallowed it without a second thought?"
"Grace, was it really you?" Vivian Xiao strode over, eyes blazing with murderous intent.
"Princess, I was treating the Celestial Empress—why on earth would I harm her at such a crucial moment? That would be asking for death!"
Vivian Xiao scrunched up her brows.
Grace did have a point.
"Your Majesty, it must have been Grace who harmed the Celestial Empress!" Lucy suddenly got worked up. "The Empress used to adore her, but later... for some reason, she couldn't stand her anymore.
The Celestial Empress even said she would never allow Grace to stay in Drake Abyss, or remain by Crown Prince Evan Xiao's side!
So she probably held a grudge and took this chance to get rid of the Empress! Your Majesty, you have to stand up for the Celestial Empress!
Did she just admit it that easily?
But Grace suddenly piped up, "But I have medicine!"
The Celestial Emperor helped her up and asked, "Qingke, are you all right now?"
The Celestial Empress shook her head. "Lucky for me, my Thunder Spirit Root recovered this morning. Otherwise, I would've been a goner today."
"What?" The Celestial Emperor blinked in confusion. "Your Thunder Spirit Root recovered this morning? Then what did Grace just give you?"
"That was the Phantom Revival Pill, which can make the Soul Core appear dead," said the Empress.
"So what exactly are you playing at?" the Celestial Emperor pressed.
The Celestial Empress shot Grace a complicated look. "A few days ago, Grace noticed my pulse was off and discovered someone had been drugging my daily Frostheart Dew. I wanted to see who was behind it, so I played along!"
Grace smirked and replied, "I've got nothing to say!"
Sophie Shang shot Grace a surprised look.
She confessed just like that?
But Grace suddenly piped up, "But I have medicine!"
"You have medicine?" The Celestial Emperor raised an eyebrow. "What kind of medicine?"
A sly grin tugged at Grace's lips. "Medicine that can bring the Celestial Empress back to life! When the time comes, whether the Celestial Meridian Pill bottle was given to her by me or Lucy tried to set me up—let the Empress herself spill the tea!"
"What?" The gods all gawked at her, stunned.
Lucy’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.
Grace strolled over to Evan Xiao and handed him a pill.
Evan Xiao took it and popped it straight into the Empress’s mouth.
"Just follow this sequence and tap her acupoints," Grace said, handing him a piece of paper.
Evan Xiao did exactly as she said.
Moments later, the Empress coughed—and actually woke up!
The gods were so thrilled, they nearly threw a party.
The Celestial Emperor rushed over to help her up. "Qingke, are you okay?"
The Celestial Empress shook her head. "Lucky for me, my Thunder Spirit Root recovered this morning. Otherwise, I would've been a goner today."
"Wait, what?" The Celestial Emperor looked baffled. "Your Thunder Spirit Root recovered this morning? Then what did Grace just give you?"
"That was the Phantom Revival Pill—it makes the Soul Core look totally dead," the Empress explained.
"So what is all this supposed to mean?" the Celestial Emperor asked, still confused.
The Celestial Empress shot Grace a complicated look. "A few days ago, Grace noticed my pulse was off and figured out someone had been slipping something into my daily Frostheart Dew. I wanted to catch the culprit, so I played along!"
