That Punch

12/19/2025

Julian Jue let out a sigh, knowing that even if he charged forward, it would mean certain death. But he no longer wished to live like this. Since death was inevitable, he might as well rush up and land a punch on Barton May—even if it was just a slap, it would be a small act of vengeance.

Just as Julian Jue was about to charge, his eyes widened in disbelief as he saw Barton May kicked flying by Joe Di. What’s more, Barton May was hurtling straight toward where he stood.

Joe Di really did it. How was this possible...

Julian Jue knew this was not the time to wonder how Joe Di had managed it. Without hesitation, he drew the dagger Joe Di had given him, channeling all his true essence into the blade.

Barton May was terrified to find that not only had Joe Di kicked him flying, but he couldn’t even stop himself in midair.

It wasn’t just a suppression of his divine sense, causing his domain to briefly slip from his control—he was still trapped within a thread of Joe Di’s spatial law.

He had to kill Joe Di as soon as possible, or the consequences would be endless.

Seeing that he was about to collide with Julian Jue, Barton May breathed a sigh of relief. As long as an external force intervened, that thread of spatial law from Joe Di’s kick would be broken.

Julian Jue was shocked by Joe Di’s strength. It was said he was helping Joe Di ambush Barton May, but now it was Joe Di who had delivered Barton May right to him. He didn’t even need to rush forward—just raise the dagger. Perhaps this was the easiest ambush in the cultivation world.

The dagger, infused with all of Julian Jue’s true essence, stabbed forward with full force.

The instant Barton May collided with Julian Jue, he sensed a terrifying killing intent sweep over him. He tried to dodge immediately, but he still couldn’t break free from that thread of spatial law from Joe Di’s kick.

"Pfft!" The icy killing intent pierced straight into his back, and then a terrifying surge of true essence exploded at the front of that murderous force.

Not good—Julian Jue had betrayed him. Without hesitation, Barton May triggered the death restriction inside Julian Jue and shifted aside in an instant.

"Pfft!" What shocked Barton May wasn’t that Julian Jue was unharmed after the restriction was triggered, but that Julian’s dagger—of unknown grade—easily tore through his armor, ripped apart his spine, and even shattered his internal organs.

Barton May spat out several mouthfuls of blood, his murderous rage utterly uncontrollable. Even if his strength was cut in half, he could still kill Joe Di and that dog Julian Jue. That dog had somehow removed his restriction, and Barton hadn’t even noticed.

A terrifying killing aura swept over, but there was not a trace of fear in Julian Jue’s eyes. Aside from being shocked by Joe Di’s kick, he was stunned that the dagger Joe Di gave him could even seriously wound Barton May.

Seeing Julian Jue's ambush succeed, Joe Di would never let such an opportunity slip by. Before Barton May could kill Julian, Joe lunged forward—over six thousand blades filled the air, sealing off the space completely.

"A grade-nine blade formation..." A powerful expert on the suspended pavilion gasped. Joe Di could control a grade-nine blade formation, and every blade was a top-tier spiritual weapon—just how strong was his divine sense?

At this moment, even the shocking ambush by Julian Jue and the fact that Joe Di had kicked Barton May flying were forgotten. Everyone was thinking: if they faced Joe Di’s grade-nine blade formation, what chance would they have of surviving?

Waves of blade energy surged forward, and even Barton May was gripped by terror.

All killing intent and rage vanished in an instant. At this moment, Barton May knew better than anyone that if he couldn’t break through Joe Di’s blade formation, he would die here today.

Joe Di had this blade formation all along, yet he held back from using it at the start, only unleashing it when Barton May was thoroughly losing. Clearly, he intended to kill Barton May.

But now Barton May was gravely wounded, with no chance to heal—not that Joe Di would ever give him the opportunity. For a moment, Barton regretted it: knowing Julian Jue was Gerard Jue’s son, why had he kept Julian by his side as a dog?

He’d placed a primordial soul blood restriction on Julian Jue, so how could anyone help Julian break free? Unless that person’s divine sense far surpassed his own.

But he was a grade-ten divine sense cultivator—who could be stronger than him?

Thinking back to when his Yin-Yang Banner couldn’t lock down Joe Di’s space—who else could it be but Joe Di? Barton May didn’t dare think further. That was immortal-grade divine sense!

The Yin-Yang Banner could no longer attack; two streams of Yin-Yang energy barely shielded Barton’s body. He knew better than anyone that with each passing breath, his danger grew.

The grade-nine blade formation spun ever more fiercely, while his strength grew weaker and weaker.

Bai Hong’s face was pale as he stared at the blinding, crisscrossing blade energy above the square. He had never imagined Joe Di could be this powerful.

He knew Barton May’s strength well. Barton hadn’t become the number one in the True Domain just by being two minor realms higher. In other words, even if Bai Hong reached the ninth layer of the Domain Stage, he still wouldn’t be a match for Barton May.

Now that Barton May was being suppressed by Joe Di—even if Barton had been ambushed first—given Joe Di’s power and blade formation, Bai Hong knew he was no match for him either.

If Barton May was killed, what would happen to Bai Hong...?

Bai Hong struggled internally, but when he looked up and saw Huan Changzhu’s mocking smile, he sighed and gave up the idea of saving Barton May.

He was certain that if he dared to make a move, Huan Changzhu would intervene under the pretext of upholding the True Domain Genius Trials. At that point, Huan Changzhu would have righteousness on his side, and Bai Hong would have no justification.

Huan Changzhu might not be able to kill Bai Hong, but there was an even more terrifying Joe Di. At this rate, Joe Di would inevitably kill the wounded Barton May.

Once Joe Di killed Barton May, would Bai Hong even survive?

Huan Changzhu was indeed watching Bai Hong. If Bai Hong dared to act, he would use Joe Di’s hand to eliminate him. In truth, even Huan Changzhu was shocked inside. He feared Joe Di, but never thought Joe could kill him. Now, seeing Joe Di’s true strength, it seemed killing Huan Changzhu might not be so difficult for him after all.

Han Wushui clenched his fists, secretly relieved. Luckily, after witnessing Joe Di’s power, he risked offending Barton May to do Joe Di a favor for free. The battle between Joe Di and Barton May made him realize Joe’s strength was still beyond his expectations.

What made Han Wushui uneasy was that Barton May’s strength was also above his estimates. If Barton wanted to kill him, it would only take a few moves.

What made Han Wushui uneasy was that Barton May’s strength was also above his estimates. If Barton wanted to kill him, it would only take a few moves.

Thinking this, Han Wushui shivered instinctively. Joe Di was meticulous and had clearly anticipated a battle with Barton May; otherwise, how could he have arranged for Barton’s own shadow to ambush him? Han had provoked Joe Di at Fallen Ice Mountain and survived—what incredible luck that was.

Zhuo Changgen saw Barton May trapped within Joe Di’s blade formation and shuddered as well. He had previously thought about killing Joe Di to avenge Zhuo Wencheng, but now realized that would be seeking death for the Zhuo Family.

"Crack, crack, crack!" The top-grade blades within Joe Di’s formation were constantly torn apart by the Yin-Yang Banner’s energy, but each time Barton May destroyed a blade, the next would land a heavy blow on him. In turn, his Yin-Yang Banner would be weakened.

Still, Barton May frantically continued to destroy the blades of the Nine-Nine Starblade Formation. Barton was a master of formations, and knew that with every blade he destroyed, Joe Di’s formation weakened a little. If he could escape, he could take a pill to heal.

As long as he could catch his breath, he would be able to kill Joe Di.

Half an incense stick later, Barton May was in despair. He had destroyed nearly a hundred top-grade blades, yet the Nine-Nine Starblade Formation hadn’t weakened at all—it only grew stronger.

Other than Joe Di’s divine sense being unimaginably strong, there was only one explanation: Joe Di had an endless supply of top-grade blades.

He couldn’t figure out where Joe Di got all those top-grade blades, but Barton May knew he absolutely couldn’t wait any longer.

The Yin-Yang Banner had followed him for countless years, but now he could only abandon it.

The Yin-Yang Banner, already shredded and ruined by the Nine-Nine Starblade Formation, suddenly exploded, transforming into countless streams of Yin-Yang energy. These energies contained the aura of heaven and earth, with a majestic and overwhelming force.

Under the terrifying surge of Yin-Yang energy, Joe Di’s blade formation actually stalled—a passage opened up within the blades.

Joe Di was startled, but quickly realized it wasn’t a flaw in the formation or the overwhelming power of Barton May’s Yin-Yang Banner—it was mainly because his true essence was running low.

In that brief moment, Barton May dashed out through the passage.

How could Joe Di let Barton May escape? Letting him go now would be courting death.

Almost at the instant Barton May burst out of the formation, Joe Di stepped into the void, then launched a punch from a bow stance in midair.

That punch gathered all of Joe Di’s true essence and divine sense, unleashing a chain of towering fist mountains.

Peaks clustered and waves raged—the first fist mountain tore through Barton May’s hastily raised domain, the second shattered his true essence shield, and the third crashed into his body.

Beneath the fist peaks, palaces stretching for ten thousand miles were reduced to dust.

"Boom!" A cloud of blood burst across the sky, Barton May’s body shattered into countless fragments, scattering through the air.
