First in the Preliminary Round

1/11/2026

Today, Shelly Song wore a crisp white short-sleeved blouse, a dark short skirt, and white flats, giving her an especially pure look.

Her demeanor was slightly aloof, her figure tall and graceful, and her features stunning—together, these gave her an unforgettable presence.

What a beautiful young lady.

As she stepped to center stage, all ten judges were instantly captivated.

Hello, everyone—judges and audience. I’m contestant number 31, Shelly Song. Today, I’ll be performing ‘Autumn Whispers.’

After her introduction, Shelly sat at the piano, gently lifted the lid, and let her jade-like fingers glide swiftly across the keys. A string of beautiful glissandos rang out, instantly drawing a round of enthusiastic applause from the audience.

A faint smile appeared on Shelly’s lips as her fingers began to dance across the black and white keys.

Her fingers were long and elegant, every joint beautifully shaped. When the camera focused on her hands, everyone couldn’t help but marvel at how beautiful they were.

‘Autumn Whispers’ is a slow classical piece, and under Shelly’s masterful playing, nearly all the audience was entranced. The ten judges nodded in silent approval.

Backstage.

Watching Shelly Song on the big screen and listening to her beautiful playing, Evan Xia couldn't help but say, "Your cousin is incredible. She played ‘Autumn Whispers’ to perfection. If you weren't here, the championship would be hers for sure."

Ian Song nodded in agreement, but suddenly felt conflicted. He could tell Shelly cared deeply about the piano competition, far more than she let on. If he ended up taking the championship from her, would she really not resent him?

Although Shelly had never treated him kindly, Ian had always considered her a true younger sister.

Forget it—I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. We'll see what happens in the finals.

When Shelly finished, the applause was even louder than before. The audience was made up of three groups: students from the music academy, local piano lovers, and the contestants’ families.

The host returned to the stage, and the ten judges each gave their scores.

When the average score appeared on the big screen, the host announced loudly, "Congratulations to contestant 31, Shelly Song, for scoring 97 points and taking first place for now."

"Thank you, everyone. Thank you, judges." Shelly Song smiled gracefully and bowed.

As Shelly stepped off the stage, her mother rushed over excitedly. "Well done, Shelly! You're truly your mother's good daughter."

"Congratulations, Shelly," Ian Song said with a smile as he walked over.
