Fleeing Five Thousand Li

1/18/2026

Elder Dominic Dunn, his heart consumed with worry for his grandson, didn't think much along the way and instead flew at full speed toward the rear mountain. Because of this, he ended up alerting a nearby elder.

Just as Elder Dominic Dunn was about to rush into the rear mountain, a figure flashed by and called out, "Elder Dunn, where are you going?"

"Qing'er is in trouble! I have to save him!"

Elder Dunn didn't slow down at all. As soon as he finished speaking, he had already charged into the mountain woods.

Elder Julian Drew, who had asked the question, showed a trace of doubt in his eyes and muttered, Cole Duanmu is in trouble? How is that possible? The Scarlet Flame Sect is the absolute overlord within two thousand li—who would dare break in and kidnap someone, and not just anyone, but an elder’s grandson?

Suddenly, as if something occurred to him, his expression changed dramatically and he shot off like a streak of light straight toward the Scripture Pavilion.

Soon, Elder Julian Drew arrived at the Scripture Pavilion. When he saw disciples lying unconscious all over the first floor, he shouted, "Not good!" and rushed up to the second floor. With a sweep of his gaze, he immediately discovered that both the Flame God Canon and Supreme Sunflame Canon were missing.

"Dominic Dunn, you’ve committed an unforgivable crime this time!" Elder Julian Drew roared in fury. Seeing the two core manuals stolen, he instantly understood that Elder Dunn had fallen for a 'lure the tiger from the mountain' scheme.

The next moment, Elder Julian Drew’s figure flickered and he appeared at the Enforcement Hall, ordering the mountain gates sealed so that no disciple could leave.

"I just hope it’s not too late!"

After issuing the mountain-sealing order, Elder Julian Drew called out softly and hurried straight to where the sect master was.

"What? The manuals were stolen?"

Sect Master Terry Tian of the Scarlet Flame Sect was stunned for a moment when he heard the news, then erupted in fury. The Scarlet Flame Sect had stood for over eight centuries; while not at its peak, it was still a renowned Human sect. If word spread that their core manuals had been stolen, the sect would become a laughingstock.

"No matter what, we must recover the manuals. I don’t care who’s involved—arrest them all! Julian Drew, go spread my orders: First, seal the mountain and conduct a thorough internal investigation. Arrest everyone involved, no matter who they are!" Terry Tian gritted his teeth, knowing full well that the theft must have had inside help. "Second, summon Elder Leonard Longman, Elder Hugo Yule, and Elder Quinn King out of seclusion to assist in hunting down the thieves!"

Hearing this, Elder Julian Drew was deeply moved and hurried to accept the order. Elder Longman, Elder Yule, and Elder King weren’t ordinary elders—they were the Scarlet Flame Sect’s Supreme Elders, Sun-Soul Realm powerhouses.

With Terry Tian’s orders, chaos erupted throughout the Scarlet Flame Sect.

The small town at the foot of the mountain.

Ian Song, who was meditating in his inn room, paused for a moment, then vanished in a flash. When he reappeared, he was already in a small alley.

"Master, the manuals are in hand!"

The waiting female disciple quickly handed over a bundle with respectful deference.

Ian took a look and saw that it was indeed the complete Supreme Sunflame Canon and Flame God Canon. He was a bit surprised: "How did you manage this?"

The female disciple briefly described their plan to Ian.

On hearing this, Ian’s expression darkened. Although the plan had succeeded, it was full of holes. He knew the Scarlet Flame Sect would soon discover everyone involved.

Once the sect found out, their fate would definitely be miserable.

At the same time, he himself would become a suspect—after all, he’d only just arrived here.

If he were alone, it wouldn’t matter; with the Art of Great Teleportation, not even Sun-Soul experts could catch him. But he happened to have the veiled girl with him.

So, the only thing to do now was leave this place.

"Don’t resist—I’m sending you somewhere safe!" Ian said to the female disciple, then stored her inside his Divine Temple. Even though she was just his puppet, she’d risked herself to help him, so he couldn’t just abandon her.

Bang!

Ian kicked open the door to the room where the veiled girl and Chloe Snow were staying and barged in.

"You bastard, what are you trying to do?"

The veiled girl, who had been talking to Chloe Snow, couldn’t help but shout in anger when she saw Ian barge in so rudely.

"We have to leave right now!" Ian said seriously.

"Why?" the veiled girl asked reflexively.

"The Scarlet Flame Sect’s two King-Grade manuals have been stolen!" Ian said.

"You did it?" The veiled girl stared at Ian in shock. She’d long suspected he was up to no good, but hadn’t expected him to actually steal the sect’s manuals.

"No time to explain—just move!" As he spoke, Ian strode over, grabbed Chloe Snow’s arm, and reached for the veiled girl’s arm too.

"What are you trying to do?"

She dodged away, glaring at Ian.

Ian explained, "I have a special divine ability that lets me teleport with others. At our normal speed, we won’t escape, so I have to use it. But to bring someone along, I need physical contact!"

Just then, an elder appeared in the sky above the town. With a thought, his powerful martial perception spread out, enveloping the entire town. Under this force, everyone felt as if they were being seen through, shivering in fear.

"This is bad—a Scarlet Flame Sect expert is here!"

Ian’s face changed abruptly. He reached for the veiled girl again. She, too, sensed the immense martial perception and knew its owner was beyond the Talisman Gathering Realm—most likely a Sun-Soul powerhouse. This time, she didn’t dodge and let Ian grab her arm.

Whoosh!

In a flash, Ian and the two girls vanished from the inn room.

Hmm!

A flash of sharpness appeared in the elder’s eyes as he floated above the town. He stepped into the inn room where Ian and the girls had disappeared, his martial perception radiating outward.

In an instant, he expanded his perception to cover a hundred miles around, but to his surprise, the three were nowhere to be found.

"Could it be them?"

The elder murmured, his eyes flashing coldly. He quickly sent out a message with his martial perception, and within two breaths, Sect Master Terry Tian and two Supreme Elders appeared beside him.

If his cultivation and soul weren’t sealed, Ian could teleport hundreds of thousands of miles with a single thought.

But now, even using the Art of Great Teleportation at full strength, he could only move up to two hundred miles at a time.

Worried that the Scarlet Flame Sect experts would catch up, Ian kept using the Art of Great Teleportation. When his internal energy was nearly depleted, a city appeared before them.

"Is that Sky Roc City?"

When the veiled girl saw the city’s name, her expression turned odd. Sky Roc City was over five thousand miles from the Scarlet Flame Sect—how could they have arrived so quickly? This guy’s divine ability was truly incredible.

"Let’s go—we’re entering the city!" Ian said, releasing the two girls and striding toward Sky Roc City.
