The Eighteenth Sword Form

2/14/2026

Bruno whipped around and bolted, panicking: "The Western Lands cultivators are insane! Cult Master, they must be out of their minds! Who wakes up an entire city just to use it as a weapon?"

Behind them, everywhere Junwood City passed was flattened to the ground.

The massive city moved like a living creature, striding madly in pursuit, crossing mountains and valleys at incredible speed, leveling everything in its path.

The city was like a terrifying maw, devouring and crushing everything in sight. Not only that, thousands of house-giants inside the city swung entire buildings like giant hammers—anything Junwood City couldn’t chew through would be swallowed and smashed to bits by these giants!

Behind the city, clouds of dust rolled out, formed from all the things it had shredded.

The dust stretched for dozens of miles, so thick you could hardly see anything inside.

The city swallowed everything in front and spat out debris behind; it was easy to imagine what would happen if you were caught by it.

Quinn kept urging Bruno on, and Bruno ran for his life. Suddenly, a great river shot out from Junwood City, snapping like a long whip with a sharp crack.

Bruno dodged frantically, but the river was incredibly agile, lashing wildly and driving him to scramble and hide. His speed slowed, and Junwood City started to catch up.

"Big brother..."

Kira Bear’s voice trembled as she looked back in terror. The ground was shaking, and boulders as tall as a man were jolted into the air. Behind them, Junwood City’s giant gate yawned wide, packed with sharp teeth, snapping shut with a dreadful crunch.

"It’s okay, little sister Kira, don’t be afraid."

Quinn turned around, his Sword Pill floating in front of him. Bruno was being forced into scattershot dodges by the river, nearly unable to evade any longer—he was about to be swallowed by Junwood City.

"Who’s trying to intercept us?"

Quinn stared at the approaching city gate and walls, which rose and fell in waves. Rows of thick, sharp spears jutted out like teeth. He couldn’t help but look puzzled.

"Is it really necessary to mobilize all this just to deal with a Sixfold Primordial Spirit cultivator like me? With Ben Coates’ connections, he shouldn’t be able to deploy a treasure like Junwood City. So who is it that actually wants me dead?"

Suddenly, he thought of someone and smiled quietly. "It must be him—the young master of True Heaven Palace. He lost out to me before when I snatched Kira Bear and her mother from under his nose. We go way back. I bet he’s planning a big surprise for me this time."

Right then, Bruno roared, "Cult Master, this is no surprise—it’s a nightmare! Oh no…"

Another great river shot out from Junwood City’s maw, lashing out with a crack and wrapping around Bruno’s tail, dragging him toward the gaping mouth. Bruno scrabbled frantically with all four hooves, but couldn’t stop himself from being pulled closer.

Kira Bear’s face grew serious, and she piped up crisply: "Dragonfat, be a hero—cut off your tail!"

Bruno was in tears: "Sister Kira, even if I cut off my tail, I still won’t get away. At least let me die in one piece... though honestly, that’s not looking too likely."

The city gate and walls snapped shut like a giant mouth, biting down with terrifying speed. Inside, buildings transformed into giants that smashed everything in sight. Escaping with your body intact was nearly impossible!

Each spear gleamed coldly, as thick as a bowl’s rim—like steel bars jutting from the city walls, but tipped with razor-sharp sword points. Their surfaces were covered in strange patterns; clearly, every one was a spirit weapon!

If you got bitten even once, it’d be like dozens of spirit weapons punching through your flesh—leaving you with scores of bowl-sized bloody holes all over your body.

And with the crushing force of those gates and walls, you’d be pulped in an instant.

Quinn was still dazed, muttering, "But the young master of True Heaven Palace shouldn’t have the power to awaken Junwood City’s spirit. His cultivation might be higher than mine, but at best he’s only at the Seven Stars Realm…"

"Cult Master!" Bruno was dragged into Junwood City’s gaping maw.

Quinn snapped out of it. His Sword Pill erupted, unleashing thousands of sword-lights that whirled and slashed. Eight thousand swords performed the Cloud Sword Form all at once—a truly spectacular sight!

Swords clustered like clouds, swirling around the spears beneath the city wall. Instantly, countless sharp teeth inside Junwood City’s maw were sliced clean off.

But the gates and walls kept biting down. Their crushing force alone was enough to mash anyone into pulp.

Quinn reached out and grabbed the Worryless Sword. He couldn’t unleash its full divine power, but with its sheer sharpness alone, he could cut through anything!

The Worryless Sword gleamed in his hands, piercing through the air with a single point, yin and yang cycling endlessly within.

The Dao Sword’s First Form erupted in his grip—sword-light split into black and white, yin and yang swirling, spinning together like Taiji. But that was only the surface of the technique.

In truth, this move relied on extremely advanced numerology: every dot and line in the Taiji diagram was calculated with utmost precision. Each sword-light’s path hid layers of complex mathematics, embodying the Daoists’ cosmic mysteries.

Junwood City bit down hard—then, a whole section of wall vanished in the swirling black-and-white sword-light.

Quinn leapt into the air, raising the Worryless Sword high. He summoned his power to recall the swords—eight thousand blades flew to him, clashing and fusing with the Worryless Sword. When the child swords merged with the mother sword, the whole weapon became unimaginably heavy.

This was the Sword Pill’s second form.

The Sword Pill had two forms: one was the pill, the other was the merged Parent-Child Sword.

After merging, the Worryless Sword was so heavy that Quinn could no longer channel any divine power through it.

Quinn raised the sword high overhead—at this point, he could only manage a single move.

Slash!

Slash ahead!

Ahead of him, right behind Bruno, Junwood City had already dragged them inside. A surging river coiled around Bruno, trying to pull him onto the street.

On both sides of the street, house-giants, tower-giants, and building-giants stood ready, each gripping a building, poised to smash down.

At the city's center stood grand palaces—not of wood or stone, but forged from mystic gold, mystic iron, and mystic bronze.

Western cultivators don’t seek to strengthen themselves—they borrow the power of nature, reshaping it as they go. They gather mystic gold and bronze to forge spirit weapons, always striving to make them as powerful as possible.

The palaces inside Junwood City were spirit weapons refined by powerful cultivators—their might far surpassed that of the wooden and stone houses.

These palace-giants also rose, blocking the street’s end, radiating murderous intent.

This scene was absolutely unprecedented—never seen or heard of before!

When Quinn brought the sword down, the shock from the impossibly heavy Worryless Sword instantly shattered the river coiled around Bruno’s tail.

The great river writhed like a snake whose tail had been severed, twisting and trembling through the city.

When the Worryless Sword’s tip struck the street, an utterly terrifying force exploded out—flagstones flew up, a huge crack split the street, and more stones burst apart in midair!

Whoosh whoosh whoosh—

Flying swords shot out from the Worryless Sword’s tip, Quinn’s mana surged into them, and the swords spun forward along the street. Eight thousand swords cut and sliced, leaving house-giants in ruins.

Earlier, when the eight thousand swords were merged, he couldn’t unleash their full power. Now, separated, he could channel his force into each blade.

Countless sword-lights spun like wheels, charging through flying wood and shattered stone, slicing deep into the palace-giants at the street’s end and cutting through the great halls!

Quinn’s arms trembled—this sword strike nearly tore his muscles, broke his bones, and snapped his tendons; half his mana was drained in an instant!

He used Dao Sword’s First Form during Junwood City’s attack instead of Sword Treading the Rivers and Mountains, mostly to save mana. The latter would have consumed even more.

But even so, this one sword consumed nearly half his mana!

Still, the results were spectacular—one sword nearly leveled the entire street. He’d never imagined he could wield such destructive power.

Quinn released the Worryless Sword, driving his remaining mana into it, and the other flying swords shot back from the street’s end.

This time, he didn’t dare use the Sword Pill’s second form; instead, he gathered the eight thousand swords into a round metal ball.

Quinn opened his Glutton Bag and put the Sword Pill away, dazed: "I think I’ve created a brand-new basic sword form—one that isn’t among the seventeen established basics…"

Just now, when he struck, countless swords spun out from the Worryless Sword like wheels, draining a third of his cultivation in an instant. This wheel-like sword move was unlike the seventeen basic forms; the closest was Cloud Sword Form, but that was drawn in a circle using the wrist or the sword’s own tip.

But the sword move Quinn had just accidentally created spun like a wheel—combining the power of a chop, the finesse of a slice, and the agility of a cloud.

This was the Eighteenth Basic Sword Form!

Inside Junwood City, earthen and wooden giants charged forward, and the battered palace-giants at the street’s end rushed in wielding round, golden palace “hammers.”

A great river inside the city roared together, transforming into a giant entwined with water dragons, who swung its fist to smash down.

Quinn was lost in thought again: "But this basic sword form seems to consume too much mana. Not only that, but it also requires a lot of money to forge more flying swords. Most importantly, the flying swords need double-pointed tips for maximum power."

Bruno roared, breathing fire and setting Junwood City’s streets ablaze. Earthen and wooden giants were engulfed in flames. The water-giant formed from the city’s river scrambled to put out the fires, shrinking as it burned.

Quinn kept musing: "But then again, I’ve got plenty of money."

Bruno grew even bolder, breathing fire everywhere and setting the city ablaze. Outside, he’d been chased with nowhere to run, but inside the city he was like a tiger unleashed.

Suddenly, Junwood City lurched to a halt—the whole city stopped dead. All the house-, tower-, and palace-giants instantly reverted to buildings, and the water-giant collapsed into a rushing river.

Junwood City fell silent in an instant, leaving only Quinn, Kira Bear, and Bruno on the ruined street.
