Looking Back, A Springtime Dream

"Sword cultivators will always sense an insurmountable peak before them?"

Grandpa Blind and the Mute Smith exchanged glances, deciding to keep quiet about having cursed the Pioneer Emperor in front of him. Grandpa Blind chuckled, "Luckily, there's no such peak in the Dao of formations—I've never seen anyone like that."

The Mute Smith shook his head, "Same for forging Dao—I haven't seen such a figure either. You sword cultivators are just too tragic. Strange, why hasn't Quinn ever mentioned this?"

Village Chief, hearing him mention Quinn, replied gruffly, "That kid fears nothing—he can't even sense that peak. And with his rough personality, even if he did, he'd climb up and piss on it! The Pioneer Emperor's sword Dao is just too strong. If his sword Dao advances one more step, it'll be branded in the cosmos—a first for imprinting a postnatal Dao into the universe itself."

Mute Smith and Grandpa Blind were deeply shaken—imprinting a Dao onto the cosmos, reverse-proving the innate Dao, what kind of realm is that?

"Sword Dao, saber Dao, formations, forging—all these are postnatal Daos created by living beings, not innate. But the Pioneer Emperor's sword Dao, cultivated to the extreme, is simply too powerful."

Village Chief said, "Anyone who cultivates sword Dao can clearly sense him—his achievements in sword Dao can't be ignored. I feel he's not far from the peak of sword Dao. Maybe he'll be the first to imprint a postnatal Dao onto the cosmos. If he reaches that step, calling him a Sword Dao Supreme wouldn't be an exaggeration."

Grandpa Blind and the Mute Smith were rattled—the level Village Chief described was simply too high. Even with their own accomplishments, they couldn’t imagine what kind of terrifying insight and creativity it would take to imprint their Dao onto the cosmos itself.

Village Chief sighed, "I wonder how Quinn is doing in Heavenly Court. Just thinking about all the humiliation and trouble he'll face from the gods there makes me..."

His eyes reddened; he quickly dropped the subject of Quinn and changed the topic, "So what brings you two here?"

"Quinn's back!"

Grandpa Blind laughed, "The Butcher just sent word—Quinn went to Yong River Academy two days ago, but Butcher chased him off! He should be arriving here soon."

Village Chief was overcome with emotion, eyes reddening again. "Quinn's back? That's good, that's good... Wait, are you saying the first thing he did was visit Butcher, not us? So he loves Butcher more—after all we did, raising him through thick and thin..."

Mute Smith snickered, "When he comes to see us, we'll be sure to give him a proper welcome!"

Village Chief and Grandpa Blind both nodded in agreement.

The Heavenly Dragon Imperial Palanquin neared Heavenly Saint Academy. Inside, Quinn, God-Queen Langwo, and Shu Jun finally finished refining the Supreme Emperor's divine sense from the bottle, splitting it three ways. Langwo claimed her share, transforming it into her own cultivation and gaining a massive boost.

Especially Shu Jun—having died once, he'd never managed to restore his flesh or divine sense. This time, after refining the Supreme Emperor's divine sense, he immediately rebuilt his physical body.

As one of the Taikoo Creator Three Kings, Shu Jun was shrewd—he knew that refined divine sense was always inferior to what one cultivates oneself, so he poured almost all of it into strengthening his newly forged body!

He shed his former frail appearance, becoming tall and imposing. His sheer physical strength now rivaled top experts of the High Heaven Hall Realm!

Quinn looked on in envy.

They also sorted out the Grand-Luo Supreme Divine Sense contained within the Supreme Emperor's divine sense. Quinn finally filled in the missing portions of the Grand-Luo Supreme Divine Sense he'd obtained earlier—though the Supreme Emperor's divine sense still lacked the cultivation methods for the Heavenly Court.

Still, with an Emperor's Throne-grade Grand-Luo Supreme Divine Sense, Quinn was more than satisfied.

Among his fifteen Heaven Palaces, the Divine Sense Grand-Luo Heaven Palace was especially ancient and imposing, overshadowing the other thirteen Heaven Palaces and nearly rivaling Quinn's main Heaven Palace!

"When the guest outshines the host, trouble may follow."

Quinn frowned slightly, examining his various Heaven Palaces. He felt a vague unease: eight of his Heaven Palaces were incomplete, and the Divine Sense Grand-Luo Heaven Palace was so strong that, if it truly outshone the host, it meant the Supreme Emperor's path was better than his own.

The guest outshining the host is a minor issue; harming the Dao-heart is a major one!

If the Divine Sense Grand-Luo Heaven Palace truly surpassed his main Heaven Palace, Quinn's invincible Dao-heart would be broken. Even if he built his Heaven Court around the Divine Sense Grand-Luo Heaven Palace, he'd just become another Supreme Emperor—never surpassing him.

But if his Dao-heart broke, the greater danger was that he might never recover.

"Grandpa Blindeye, Granny Sue—you two really need to work hard and perfect your Emperor's Throne Arts as soon as possible..."

Quinn sighed deeply, thinking, "If only I could steal all the Emperor's Throne Arts the Heavenly Court has collected over the years and give them to Everpeace. Granny Sue and the others could absorb their essence, connect the dots, and maybe create their own Emperor's Throne Arts. But alas..."
