Devoured

Just as he was lost in thought, a flash of white light appeared before his eyes, and the weight in his arms suddenly vanished. Ethan Gray snapped back to his senses and quickly pulled the person before him into his embrace. Behind him, Lynn Yee's mouth dropped open, then he abruptly shut it, nearly biting his tongue. His reaction was equally swift as he shouted, "I didn't see anything!" Then, in a flash, he dashed out, running faster than a rabbit.

In truth, he really hadn’t seen anything. He’d been standing behind Ethan Gray, so naturally, with Ethan blocking the view, he couldn’t see a thing. But when Ethan pulled, he ended up glimpsing a fair, delicate arm. He swears he looked away before he could see anything clearly!

No wonder His Highness was so interested in that Spirit Spring—it was all for turning the little kitty into a human!

Yuna blinked in Ethan Gray’s arms, belatedly realizing she’d transformed back into a human. Overjoyed, she murmured, "Big Bad..." and unconsciously rubbed against him. After being a cat for so long, the habit was hard to break. Yuna didn’t see anything wrong with it—at least, not yet.

The long-awaited 'pastry' was right in his arms, completely unclothed, rubbing against him so temptingly. Her soft body was irresistible. Ethan Gray was no saint; in fact, he’d always wondered how to devour this little kitty whole. Naturally, he wouldn’t let such an opportunity slip by.

You couldn’t really blame him for being eager—he was genuinely worried that this little kitty might suddenly turn back at any moment. Clearly, last time had left a psychological shadow.

If that happened again, he’d regret it for the rest of his life. So, better to eat her now than regret it later!

Yuna was left dizzy and dazed by his kisses, her head in the clouds, when she suddenly blurted out, "Big Bad, there’s no bed here." It was a serious issue—she certainly wasn’t going to lie on the ground. If anyone had to, it’d be him.

Ethan Gray nipped her little chin and smirked, "Who says there isn’t?"

Following his gaze, Yuna saw a white jade bed hidden among the waist-high green grass. She froze for a moment, then frowned, "It’ll be cold!"

Ethan Gray scooped her up and carried her toward the white jade bed, his smile wicked. "Relax, it’s warm jade."

Dazed, Yuna nodded. Once placed on the white jade bed, she felt around and muttered, "It’s really not cold—just a bit hard, though."

She wanted to say more, but Ethan Gray didn’t give her the chance, sealing her lips with his own.

With the barrier broken, the Spirit Spring was no longer a secret. After resting, a crowd came searching for the cave, and everyone was delighted at the discovery. Those with martial skills hoped to improve their abilities, while those without just wanted to see what the Spirit Spring was like. After all, where there’s a Spirit Spring, there must be treasures.

But before they could get close, Lynn Yee suddenly flashed out like a ghost, blocking the entrance. He still wore that smile, but his words were full of warning: "If you value your life, don’t come any closer!" He was doing it for their own good—if they saw something they shouldn’t, they wouldn’t even know how they died. And if he let them approach, his own fate would be miserable.

These people already harbored resentment toward Ethan Gray, but because of his status, they didn’t dare act rashly. Now, Lynn Yee was only Ethan Gray’s subordinate, yet he was being so arrogant. The usually high-and-mighty young lords couldn’t swallow this insult. Denied entry, they insisted on forcing their way in!

"Get out of the way!"

"Who do you think you are? How dare you block my path!"

Facing a crowd that looked ready to fight, Lynn Yee kept smiling, but the purple glow in his eyes intensified, growing eerily mesmerizing. Several people who had been about to shout were stunned, forgetting what they wanted to say.

It was only then that Cynthia Qi spoke up, "Everyone just wants to take a look inside, Lynn. Could you make an exception?" Her voice was gentle and soft—no one could bear to refuse her, especially since she’d been so polite.

But anyone who could stay by Ethan Gray’s side was hardly ordinary. Lynn Yee remained unmoved, his voice cold: "Come any closer, and you die."

When that pair of violet-glowing eyes swept over them, the crowd shivered in unison. It was real, bone-chilling murderous intent. He wasn’t joking—if they took one step closer, he’d truly kill them. Though he still wore a smile, it felt icy cold.

Only now did someone recall that the man always at the Demon Lord’s side was the infamous Soul Reaper Envoy, known for his bewitching eyes. Because he was always smiling beside Ethan Gray, people forgot he was a god of death himself.

No one dared meet Lynn Yee’s gaze. The crowd suddenly fell silent, and the atmosphere grew strange.

The young lords stood there, neither leaving nor insisting on entering. They had enough self-awareness—not foolish enough to act now that they’d calmed down.

They were no match for Lynn Yee. Would they really risk their lives? Even if they could beat him, offending Ethan Gray would only bring more trouble.

Meanwhile, inside the cave, Yuna lay weakly atop Ethan Gray, pouting and complaining, "It hurts and I’m exhausted! Big Bad, you’re not tasty at all!"

Ethan Gray’s hand paused as he stroked her back, torn between laughter and tears. Was she actually complaining about him?

He was about to say something when his body suddenly stiffened. "Kitty..." His voice was hoarse, thick with warning.

Yuna ignored him, her eyelids drooping as she rubbed her head against his chest—just like she always did when she was about to sleep. But now, she wasn’t a cat!

Ethan Gray frowned, his Adam’s apple bobbing. Eat or not eat? If he didn’t, he’d regret it; if he did, he’d feel guilty. The little kitty really did look exhausted.

While he was still conflicted, the weight on his body lightened, leaving only a little kitty sound asleep on his chest. Ethan Gray sighed—this time, there was no dilemma.

He reached out and stroked her head, frowning. It seemed that bit of spiritual energy still couldn’t last very long. Would he have to feed her a few fruits every time?
