To Master This Art, Cut Off Your Own Root Part Two

12/7/2025

It's clear that this Yin-Yang Compendium is really just a rough patchwork of miscellaneous chapters, hardly a complete martial arts system. But the quality? Surprisingly high. In a way, it's a one-of-a-kind, world-class marvel.

It's like a big pile of building blocks, with generations of dedicated masters each adding their own bricks. By the time it landed in Eunuch Chief Yvonne's hands, it still wasn't a finished house, but all the essential materials were finally there.

Even at a quick glance, Jill Young was completely blown away.

So many generations of top-tier masters poured their hearts into perfecting this divine skill—all for one ultimate goal: gender transformation!

That's right, every single author and contributor to this book was a eunuch. Each generation of eunuchs poured all their passion and smarts into it. Driven by the dream of a beautiful, complete, "normal" life, these martial arts masters joined forces to create a legendary masterpiece.

It shatters countless martial arts "laws"—like, what if you run out of essence while refining qi?—and proposes one genius idea after another. Every page radiates wild, mad scientist vibes, and the craziest part? These ideas aren't just pipe dreams.

It can actually be used for gender transition!

A glimpse was all Jill Young needed to finally understand the origin of the name 'Yin-Yang Compendium.' Its original name was 'Yin-Yang Road,' referring to two distinct evolutionary paths.

If you want to 'return to yang'—in other words, become male again—you work hard to build up yang energy, striving toward a miraculous rebirth. During this process, a eunuch would regrow facial hair, get their Adam's apple back, their vocal cords thicken, muscles sharpen up, and even their personality turns more masculine. Their gaze at women? Instantly more predatory.

But if you don't want to be a man anymore, you can take the 'yin road' and dash headlong toward womanhood. Your pores tighten, body hair falls out, skin gets silky, curves soften, your chest keeps growing, legs slim down, waist gets flexible, voice turns sweet, and you become a total softie. Heck, you might even swoon at the sight of a handsome guy.

Yep, the Yin-Yang Compendium really is that magical.

According to the vision laid out in the Yin-Yang Compendium, if you cultivate your yin-yang energy to the highest level, you can genuinely and completely return to your original gender—or transform into the other. You can go from being in-between to becoming pure yin or pure yang.

The endless pain of castration and the ridicule that followed made those Eunuch Chiefs obsessively determined. The Yin-Yang Compendium is nearly complete—just missing two crucial pillars.

The Eunuch Chiefs were powerful, sure, but most became eunuchs as boys, only starting martial arts after their operation. Their internal energy was never truly pure yin or pure yang, so they could never reach the highest level. If they followed the Yin-Yang Compendium exactly, they'd never achieve the results it promised. Worse, they might end up with totally messed-up yin and yang.

But for Jill Young, this problem? Not a problem at all.

Pure yin, pure yang—divine martial arts? Just tell me which one you want!

But beyond all these jaw-dropping effects, what stunned Jill Young most was the Yin-Yang Compendium's deep dive into the differences between male and female internal energy cultivation.

Those psychologically twisted Eunuch Chiefs weren't exactly gentle souls—they used plenty of people as test subjects. So the theories and results in the Yin-Yang Compendium are impressively thorough and practical.

Jill Young and Jiaoniang spent ages discussing "egg refining for qi," digging through piles of gynecology classics, and even brainstorming with Sanmiao about secret internal arts from another world, hoping to find inspiration. But they still couldn't start writing—because starting is always the hardest part. When it comes to compiling female-only internal arts, they're missing years of experience and accumulated ideas.

But the moment Jill Young saw the Yin-Yang Compendium, it was like a lightning bolt cracked through her mind, illuminating all the murky corners.

Suddenly, she realized—the key piece of the future puzzle was right here in the Yin-Yang Compendium.

"To master this art, wield the knife and self-castrate?" Staring at the opening line of the Yin-Yang Compendium, Eunuch Chief Yvonne couldn't help but mutter, "Isn't this the Sunflower Tome..."

"Sunflower Tome?" The Empress caught the name. "It seems you truly understand the Yin-Yang Compendium, blending countless scraps into a whole. Such talent is admirable. From now on, this martial art will have an official name: 'The Sunflower Tome.' Congratulations, you have attained divine skill."

"I..." Jill Young honestly had no idea what kind of face to make at this point.

Old Master Jin's book said the Sunflower Manual was written by eunuchs of the previous dynasty. She'd wanted to hunt down the legendary Sunflower Ancestor, but now—somehow—she'd ended up in this ridiculous situation. It was honestly hilarious.

"So, what do you think about Lord Jia's matter?"

What do I think? Does it even matter? Sis doesn't care about the crown prince battle or national fate—once I'm gone, you all can fight however you want. Right now, the only thing I want is to rush off and tell Jiaoniang the good news. Who's got time for anything else?

"Alright!" Eunuch Chief Yvonne agreed without hesitation. The Empress tried to say a few more formal words, but Eunuch Chief Yvonne was already striding away like a gust of wind. This possible original Sunflower Tome was way too important—she couldn't wait another second.

As long as egg refining for qi works out, the grand plan for world domination is all set!

But just as she reached the entrance of the Empress's palace, her ears twitched and she froze. Jill Young turned and scanned the area—she'd just sensed something off.

Suddenly, shouts and screams erupted from nearby eunuchs and palace maids: "Fire! Fire! Somebody put it out!"

Thick smoke and flames shot up and spread with shocking speed—the side hall of Ciyuan Palace was ablaze in an instant. Servants panicked, running and shouting, chaos flooding the air.

Jill Young, however, stayed calm and alert, quietly scanning her surroundings. She cranked up her senses, and suddenly the whole frantic world seemed to slow down around her.

She felt it!

A wave of murderous intent hovered in the air, barely restrained and drifting through the void—almost there, almost not. Jill Young knew: this was an assassin of the highest caliber.

Broad daylight, and yet the attacker struck at the worst possible time for an assassination. Clearly, they either had a special reason or special skills. Odds are, they've got both.

Now the question is: who’s the real target?

The Empress? Liu An? Or—Jill Young herself?

"Gotcha!" Whoosh—Jill Young turned into a blur and shot straight toward the inner hall.

Meanwhile, inside the inner hall, a swarm of maids rushed in, trying to escort the Empress to safety.

"What's all this panic?" The Empress, true to her title, kept her cool—scolding her staff and commanding like the mother of the nation. But just then, the roof tiles suddenly shattered overhead, and a razor-sharp sword beam slashed down toward her head like a falling galaxy.

Boom! The wall burst open, bricks and debris flying everywhere. Out of the chaos, a single finger pierced the void and flicked the sword beam.

The Empress hadn't even processed what was happening when she heard a metallic clang—the sword beam recoiled like a snake in pain.

Someone on the roof made a quick getaway, clearly following the assassin's rule: if your strike misses, flee far and fast.

The clash was over in a flash. Only now did the Empress realize what had happened, her face turning pale with shock. "My dear... this... thank goodness for you..."

"An assassin! There's an assassin!" the maids screamed, and the guards sprang into action. But Jill Young didn't bother chasing after the attacker.

The assassin was just a distraction—not weak, but nothing special, and hadn't even broken through their limits. If you want to bait Liu An, you'll need tastier bait than that.

Just then, Jill Young spun around, her sleeve whipping out with a loud whoosh. In the next instant, there was a sharp crack as a dagger aimed at her lower back was sent flying, embedding deep in the wall.

But nobody saw who actually stabbed with that dagger.

The maids froze, then started screaming again. The Empress, quick-witted as ever, shouted, "Nobody move!" and restored order. She handled it well—any normal assassin would be exposed in this chaos. But looking around, every maid was present and accounted for, no one had slipped away.

It was as if the assassination attempt had never happened at all.

"Now that's more like it." Eunuch Chief Yvonne flared her nostrils, then strode off, moving deceptively fast.

Hall after hall, corridor after corridor—Eunuch Chief Yvonne shot forward like lightning. She suddenly remembered her first chase with Feng Wushang in Bafang City; it felt just like that, tracking a hidden master through scattered clues.

This time, though, the traces left behind were oddly interesting. Hard to spot, yes, but they hovered right at the edge of Eunuch Chief Yvonne's perception, forcing her to go all out to keep tracking.

If Eunuch Chief Yvonne were just Eunuch Chief Yvonne, she'd never notice anything weird. But she's more than that—so suddenly, things got a lot more interesting.

Whoosh—Eunuch Chief Yvonne stopped in her tracks. Coincidentally, she was right in front of the pool where Little Yellow Consort used to soak. Ripples spread across the small lake; the trail ended here.

Eunuch Chief Yvonne darted to the pool's edge, frowning, then relaxing after a moment. It looked like she was going to let the assassin go for now and rethink her strategy.

But right then, the wind picked up.

Whoosh—the autumn wind grew stronger, the air cooled, leaves rustled, and the season seemed to kill all things.

The chill of the wind—and the chill of a sword blade—both swept in toward Eunuch Chief Yvonne.

At the very moment Eunuch Chief Yvonne relaxed, a slender sword hidden in the autumn wind stabbed toward her.

With that strike, the whole world seemed to change. Everything turned black and white, like an old TV, with a surreal, impressionist vibe. Eunuch Chief Yvonne was right at the center of it all.

The sword's energy was only about seventy years' worth, but at the right place and time, it could seriously injure even a master with a hundred years of power.

This sword strike even had a touch of the Heavenly King Phenomenon!
