Sophie Mo returned home, thinking about what happened today, and immediately felt a headache coming on.
Back in school, she actually knew about David Zhou’s feelings for her, but she just wasn’t attracted to him.
Feelings are something you can’t force, especially as the eldest daughter of the Mo Family—there’s no need to make herself settle.
She thought that after more than ten years apart, that innocent first love would have faded away.
Unexpectedly, she was the only one who let go—David Zhou never did.
If she guessed right, today’s lunch was clearly arranged by David Zhou just for her.
Wherever she showed up, David Zhou would find a way to be there too.
This kind of affection was just too overwhelming—she really couldn’t accept it!
Sophie Mo lay on the sofa, rolling back and forth, hesitating about whether to explain things to David Zhou, when suddenly she got an email.
“Miss Mo, you must stay calm when you read this email!” The sender was someone from the Mo Family, who’d been keeping an eye on the King Family.
Sophie Mo’s gaze instantly darkened as she calmly opened the email.
Attached to the email were several photos showing Julian King walking side by side with a beautiful woman. In the pictures, Julian seemed very attentive, even brushing away her wind-blown hair.
The two looked extremely close, without any sense of distance or awkwardness between them.
Sophie Mo let out a cold laugh and replied to the email: "I want all the information on this woman."
A short while later, another email arrived, this time with all the detailed information about the woman attached.
After reading through everything from beginning to end, Sophie’s eyes grew even colder.
Looks like Mrs. King is getting desperate. Just to have another grandson to inherit the family business, she’s even resorting to tricks like this.
Does she really see herself as some old lady from the past?
Trying to find a concubine for her son?
Heh.
Looks like she still doesn’t know how powerful the Mo Family is, huh?
Sophie Mo immediately picked up the phone and dialed a number: "From today on, terminate all business cooperation with the King Family. Yes, all of it. Withdraw investments from any ongoing projects. Any projects that haven’t received funding yet, cancel them all. I’ll explain things to my brother myself."
After hanging up, she called Mo Zixin: "Brother, just giving you a heads up—I might be divorcing Julian King."
Mo Zixin put down his pen the moment he got this call from his sister.
Seeing this, Yujie immediately picked up the signed documents and left the office.
"What happened?" Mo Zixin waited until the office was empty before asking.
"The King Family has been acting up lately. I guess Mrs. King thinks I’m easy to bully because I have a gentle temper—she’s trying to find a concubine for Julian." Sophie said calmly. "I didn’t want to bother you with this, but she’s gone too far lately, and I’m done indulging her. Brother, if I really get divorced, will you take care of me?"
"Isn’t that obvious?" Mo Zixin’s pale blue eyes flashed with annoyance. "The King Family really has been out of line lately. Want me to help you teach them a lesson?"
"No need, I’ve already ordered to end all cooperation with the King Family. If anyone’s going to slap them in the face, it’ll be me. I just wanted to let you know." Sophie Mo isn’t the type to be a pampered princess who only gets protected—she has her own ways of handling things.
"Alright, do whatever you want—your brother supports you. If Julian really does something that outrageous, I won’t let him off." Mo Zixin said in a low voice.
Let’s keep this from Mom and Dad for now. After all, Shaohuai is still young." Sophie said softly.
"I understand. Is Shaohuai with Xixi right now?" Mo Zixin’s voice softened.
"Yeah, I feel at ease with Xixi helping out." Sophie laughed lightly. "Brother, remember—you promised not to step in unless I can’t handle it. I have a feeling this isn’t as simple as it seems. Someone is targeting me, so I have to respond accordingly. Only then will I know what their next move is."
Mo Zixin chuckled as well. "Got it."
After hanging up, Mo Zixin tapped the desk and said to the person standing nearby, "Sophie is still too soft-hearted. Pass down the order: all companies with close ties to us are to stop working with the King Family. The King Family has had it too easy these past years, living comfortably off the Mo Family and forgetting who’s really in charge. If we’re going to play this game, let’s make it convincing!"
"Yes, President Mo." The assistant nodded. "The biggest partner with the King Family right now is the Yin Family..."
"Then let Charles Yin know. President Yin hates improper family conduct, so he’ll probably support this." Mo Zixin’s lips curled into a slight smile.
"Understood." The assistant turned to carry out the order.
Mo Zixin pushed his chair back with a flourish, exuding authority.
In this world, no one could bully his little sister and get away with it!
Since the King Family insists on digging their own grave, let them suffer a little!
Right now, the King Family is busy trying to have more kids, completely unaware that disaster is looming.
By the time they realize what’s happening, it’ll already be too late.
After Sophie Mo finished her swift and decisive arrangements, she lost interest in explaining things to Zhou Lide.
Matters of the heart can wait until later.
Right now, she just wanted to target the King Family’s business and leave them speechless!
The day of the incense appreciation arrived quickly.
Zhou Lide personally drove over to pick up Sophie Mo.
When Sophie Mo appeared before Zhou Lide in a black-and-white patchwork dress, his eyes instantly lit up.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Sophie said as she got in the car, "There’s been a lot going on at the company lately, so I was delayed."
"No, I just got here too," Zhou Lide replied quickly. "You’re always so busy—you should take better care of yourself."
"Got it." Sophie shot him a playful look. "You’re so naggy—one day you’ll make a perfect housekeeper. Any woman who marries you will have it easy."
Zhou Lide gave Sophie a deep look, but just smiled.
The two of them soon arrived at the incense appreciation gathering.

As soon as they walked in, they saw small groups of people sitting together, chatting quietly.
Gao Li spotted Sophie and immediately waved excitedly, "Over here!"
Sophie and Zhou Lide walked over, and Gao Li instantly hooked her arm through Sophie’s. "Zhou Lide, you’re impressive! You actually managed to bring our super-busy Miss Mo! Let me introduce you—this is my boyfriend, Xiang Heng."
Then Gao Li said to her boyfriend, "Do I even need to introduce these two?"
Xiang Heng immediately reached out politely, "No need at all. Both of you are famous! Miss Mo, the Mo Family’s eldest daughter, is the elusive goddess of our circle. And Mr. Zhou is a model in the restaurant business. Even if I don’t know anyone else, I’d never dare not know you two!"
Sophie smiled and shook hands with Xiang Heng. "I’ve heard of you—your family’s in the leather business. Funny, Gao Li loves raising sharks, so when she skins them you get the leather!"
Xiang Heng played along immediately, "So as a husband-and-wife team, we’ve completed the whole supply chain ourselves."
Zhou Lide also shook hands with Xiang Heng. "I’ve always heard about the famous Xiang Family leather goods. Finally meeting you today, I must say, the rumors don’t do you justice—you're much more handsome in person."
Xiang Heng laughed, "Not at all! With President Yin and President Mo here, how could I call myself handsome? Even Mr. Zhou leaves me in the dust!"
Sophie found Xiang Heng amusing and relaxed a lot, then sat down with everyone and looked around. "I never thought you’d actually like this kind of incense appreciation event. I can never sit still for these things."
Gao Li shrugged, "Just something to do when we’re bored. Everyone knows you own countless businesses, Miss Mo, and you’re always busy with work, so of course you don’t have time for this stuff. But it’s nice to play around once in a while."
Zhou Lide added, "Right, it’s great for a little vacation fun. Actually, I invited everyone today because I just got my hands on some top-quality incense and wanted to share it with you all."
With that, Zhou Lide raised his hand and someone brought over several huge folding screens, rearranging the tables on site.
Everyone else gathered around, full of anticipation.
Once everyone was seated in order, someone served tea.
A beautiful woman dressed in a white embroidered jacket and a teal long skirt entered with several young girls. After carefully arranging the main incense—Qinan—and the other tools for today, she greeted the honored guests and began her work.
It wasn’t Sophie’s first time at an incense appreciation gathering, but it was the first time she’d had the patience to truly savor it.
Breathing in the faint fragrance in the air, it felt as if all her restlessness instantly vanished.
Her tense, tired body gradually relaxed, sinking softly into the chair and quietly enjoying this rare peace.
The other guests at their tables showed similar expressions of relaxation.
Gao Li whispered, "If Xiang Heng didn’t love this so much, I wouldn’t have the patience to sit here either."
"It’s not bad to play around once in a while," Sophie said lazily. "It really is relaxing—I get why so many people like it. If only Xixi and Mo Rong were here. Those two talented women could whip up a bunch of poems on the spot for you."
Zhou Lide immediately said, "If there’s a chance next time, could you invite them too?"
"We’ll see," Sophie replied, casually fiddling with the pendant in her hand. "They’re super busy these days."
Zhou Lide smiled, "No matter how busy, you still need to relax. If you get worn out, it’s just not worth it."
Sophie couldn’t shake the feeling that Zhou Lide was especially eager to meet her friends, like he was trying to fit into her social circle as soon as possible.
Was she just overthinking it?
After all, it’s been more than ten years since they last saw each other—everyone’s changed, right?
Just as Sophie was lost in thought, Gao Li spoke up, "The Yin Family’s young madam isn’t someone you can just meet. President Yin is super protective and jealous—he’d take his wife everywhere with him if he could. If you see President Yin, you’ll see his wife. If not, then you won’t."
Sophie smiled, "That’s so true. Charles Yin is ridiculously jealous."
