Outlook, Chatting, and the First Anniversary of Publishing

12/7/2025

Seeing some big-name authors (yep, I mean you, dear Triple Trash—San Zha*) doing monthly outlook posts, I figured—regardless of how good my writing is—I'd jump on the bandwagon and give it a shot myself.

*San Zha (Triple Trash) is a humorous nickname for a well-known author in the Chinese web novel community.

It's already April 2015.

When I started this book, I planned to finish Extraordinary Twins by this month. Looking back now—haha...

I also planned to keep the word count under two million. Looking back now—another big haha...

That's all for my thoughts.

Alright, let's do a quick outlook for April.

The 'Heart Demon Arc' is almost at its end. After the regrets of the Iron Balls Saga, I’m extra cautious not to rush the ending of each arc. But even if I take my time, I reckon I’ll wrap it up by mid-month. When the time comes, I’ll post the proper way to read this arc too—mostly just to boost my own sense of style~~

Once this arc is done, Twins heads into the mid-to-late stages. The plan is to start the seventh arc in the second half of the month. Big plans for Queen Jill, dreams for Maggie Monroe, mysteries about the time-traveling Lady Simone, wild ideas like Refining Ovum into Qi* and spiritual transformation, the Later Dragon, Later Eagle-Shooting, Later Divine Eagle, the late Southern Song era, and a half-imaginary world with little connection to the original—who knows what kind of fun we'll get up to—

*Refining Ovum into Qi: An experimental cultivation method for women, focusing on turning female essence into vital energy. It's a parody of traditional male-focused martial arts tropes.

Just thinking about it gets me all hyped! Honestly, I kinda want to skip this arc and jump straight to the next one! (Classic self-destructive move...)

The seventh arc doesn’t have an official name yet, but the working title is 'Sole Above, Sovereign Below.' I know Twins fans have been waiting ages for Queen Jill, but here’s a heads-up: if you see any scenes that are totally blinding, please take care of yourselves!

Outlook complete.

Now for some random chat:

Dian Niang (nickname for Webnovel.com) just got acquired by Penguin (Tencent, the Chinese tech giant with the penguin mascot), and during this transition, there’s bound to be some hiccups. I figure the next little while might be rough for online security. So set up your security questions, get a safe phone, keep an eye on your wallet, and don’t top up too much at once. Whatever you do, don’t let those evil hackers swipe your good mood.

Finally, right before posting, I realized today is the one-year anniversary of the official upload after passing review!

I’m overflowing with excitement, gratitude, and feelings that are hard to put into words. But I’ll just hurry up and get back to writing—pouring all my thanks into the story is the most genuine way to show it.

Alright, your old pal Maxie* is off to write!

*Maxie is the author's affectionate nickname, derived from his pen name. In Chinese, 'Lao Shou.'
