Ethan Yin couldn't help but laugh.
This is Cecilia Gu!
She always stands from a wise perspective, handling all emotions with reason.
She clearly understands, yet still chooses to pretend she doesn't.
Well, that's fine.
This is the safest way.
So I'll just stay in this safest place and watch her happiness. That's enough.
"Yes, we'll always be family." Ethan Yin quickly looked away after saying this, not wanting Cecilia Gu to see his watery eyes.
Cecilia Gu soon changed the subject and started talking about the company with Ethan Yin.
After a while, Ethan Yin got up and said goodbye.
After seeing Ethan Yin off, Cecilia Gu immediately turned to Wendy and said, "Let's go out for a walk."
Wendy quickly packed up and personally drove Cecilia Gu outside.
Wendy drove slowly. "Madam, what are you planning to buy?"
Cecilia Gu looked at the map on her phone. "Hmm? That's odd. I saw a nice dessert shop nearby on the navigation app, but now it's gone."
Wendy laughed and said, "Why don't we park and check each shop one by one? Madam, we're going to confuse them with all our driving."
Cecilia Gu turned around—she was right.
The bodyguards following behind were almost getting dizzy from all the driving.
"Alright, let's park and look for it on foot." Cecilia Gu's belly was barely showing now, so she walked easily.
Plus, the doctor had advised her to stay active—giving birth to her second child would be much smoother that way.
That's why Wendy didn't stop Cecilia Gu and joined her for some shopping.
After parking, Cecilia Gu put on her sunglasses, with her assistant and bodyguards following behind, strolling leisurely down the street.
She noticed that many shops were watching the live broadcast of a talent show on TV.
Looks like this show really has a lot of participants!
Now, everyone on the streets was discussing who would be chosen by Mrs. Charles Yin, becoming the first ordinary woman to marry into a prestigious family.
The person everyone was talking about was now leisurely enjoying herself, making others envious.
Cecilia Gu wandered around with her phone, turning several times before stopping in front of a tiny shop, exclaiming in delight, "That's it! Newport City has plenty of dessert shops, but ones this lifelike are rare! Come on, let's go in and have a look!"
Wendy quickly followed and opened the door for Cecilia Gu.
As soon as Cecilia Gu walked in, the shop felt cool and refreshing.
This Artisan Bakehouse was very small, just two floors and only a few dozen square meters.
Compared to those big cake shops, it was really nothing.
But every item on display was exquisitely beautiful.
Cecilia Gu leaned in, seriously examining each one, nodding as she looked.
It seemed the owner of this Artisan Bakehouse was truly an expert in art.
Only someone skilled in art could create such spirited works.
Just as Cecilia Gu was about to call for the owner, a figure burst in from outside, brushing past her as they entered.
Wendy was about to speak, but Cecilia Gu smiled and waved her hand.
It was just a little bump—no big deal.
But while Cecilia Gu didn't make a fuss, the other person did: "Hey, what's with you? You bumped into me, you know?"
Cecilia Gu straightened up, surprised. "I've been standing here the whole time. You brushed past me when you came in—how is that me bumping into you?"
The girl wouldn't let it go. "Hey, what's your attitude? You clearly bumped into me! My bag is expensive! If you broke it, could you afford to pay?"
Cecilia Gu felt like she'd heard that line somewhere before...
Wendy got annoyed. "Miss, if you're going to twist things like this, why don't we just check the security footage? Every shop has cameras—it's only fair."
The girl raised her eyebrows, looking arrogant. "So what if I bumped into you? Let me tell you, I'm pregnant! If you hurt me, you'll have to compensate me! My husband is powerful! If he finds out I was wronged here, he won't let you off!"
Cecilia Gu shook her head speechlessly, not wanting to argue any further with this unreasonable girl.
When Cecilia Gu tried to leave, the girl blocked her way. "What, you think you can just leave after bumping into someone?"
Seeing the girl block Cecilia, Wendy and the bodyguards immediately stepped up and pushed the girl aside.
When the girl saw Cecilia had people backing her up, she immediately got upset.
Suddenly, the girl's eyes lit up as she looked out the window. She started waving excitedly and shouted, "Honey! Honey, I'm here!"
As soon as she finished shouting, the girl dashed outside and dragged someone in.
"Hmph, my husband's here. Let's see what you have to say now! My husband is powerful! If you mess with him, you're doomed! Honey, she's the one who bumped into me! You..."
Everyone on Cecilia Gu's side was stunned when they saw who it was.
Cecilia Gu couldn't help but say, "Max, what a coincidence!"
The person who walked in was none other than Max Mo.
Max Mo was just as surprised to see Cecilia Gu here.
"Cici?" Max Mo was stunned. "What are you doing here?"
Cecilia Gu pointed at the arrogant girl, grinning. "Your girlfriend?"
Max Mo's blue eyes darkened. "Don't be ridiculous!"
The girl didn't expect Cecilia Gu to know Max Mo, and when Max Mo denied her, she started shouting, "Hey, what's your problem? How can you say I'm not your girlfriend? Do you like her or something? How can you treat me like this!"

Max Mo looked helplessly at the girl. "Are you done yet?"
Cecilia Gu's eyes flickered. "You two have things to talk about, so I'll take my leave!"
Just as Cecilia was about to leave, Max Mo suddenly grabbed her wrist and blurted out, "Cici..."
Before Cecilia could react, Lisa Li, like a furious cat, pried Max Mo's hand away. "How can you hold another woman? You're mine!"
Max Mo ignored Lisa Li and looked calmly at Cecilia Gu. "Don't get the wrong idea. She's the daughter of a friend of mine. Today is my friend's birthday, and I came to celebrate. He said his daughter was picking up the cake but hadn't returned, so I stopped by to take her home."
Cecilia Gu smiled knowingly.
When Lisa Li heard Max Mo's explanation, she exploded again. "Hey, what do you mean? Are you rejecting me? I don't care, I like you and I want you to be my husband! Hey, you woman, don't look at my husband! He's mine!"
Cecilia Gu looked at the girl, who was only about seventeen or eighteen, glaring at her like an enemy. She just chuckled softly, "Don't worry, I won't compete with you."
Hearing this, Lisa Li finally relaxed.
"Lisa, go home first," Max Mo said to her. "My driver and assistant are outside."
"No!" Lisa Li looked at Max Mo warily. "Are you trying to be alone with this woman? I'm not letting go!"
Max Mo frowned deeply and glanced at Lisa Li.
Though Max Mo usually seemed gentle and refined, when he lost his temper, people could really feel it.
This time, Max Mo was truly a bit angry. Lisa Li, after pouting for ages and realizing it wasn't working, shot Cecilia Gu a glare and stormed off.
After Lisa left, Max Mo looked apologetic. "Sorry, her father was my coach when I trained in the Amazon. She's just a spoiled kid."
Cecilia Gu looked understanding. "I see! She seems to really like you."
Max Mo gave a wry smile.
It's not like he's short on women who like him.
From age eight to eighty, the line could stretch all the way to Hainan Island.
"I'm not interested in kids," Max Mo said with a gentle smile. He instinctively reached out to pat Cecilia's head like he used to, but suddenly remembered he'd given that up, his eyes dimming as he started to pull his hand back.
Cecilia Gu suddenly picked up a freshly made dessert from the table and placed it in Max Mo's hand before he could pull it away.
