Chapter 766: Cooperation

The Second Elder shouted loudly, and in an instant, the surrounding Dark Elves slowly began to retreat. One by one, the Dark Elves silently backed away—at this moment, no one cared what the Third Elder had to say.

Even those who originally served under the Third Elder lowered their heads and began to withdraw. They didn’t dare to gamble, nor could they afford to—even the slightest chance was too much. This wasn’t just about one or two Dark Elves anymore.

This was the survival of the entire Dark Elf Clan. Not a single Dark Elf was willing to face another catastrophe just when things had barely returned to normal.

Except for a handful of the Third Elder’s die-hard loyalists, all the other Dark Elves made their stance clear through their actions.

One, two, three...

In less than a minute, the vast majority of Dark Elves had retreated. Only the die-hard loyalists around the Third Elder kept their heads down and didn’t move, while everyone else couldn’t help but follow the crowd and back away.

The Third Elder’s face was dark, his eyes burning with a fiery rage as he glared viciously at Leon, who was wearing a cold smile.

"I don’t believe it. Impossible! Absolutely impossible! How could the fate of the Life Sigil Crystal be in the hands of an outsider? This is your conspiracy! Damn outsider, no one can save you today! You’re dead! I’ll kill you myself!"

The Third Elder was consumed by fury. Seeing the surrounding Dark Elves one after another making their stance clear and backing away—even the Dark Elf Mage Legion that had been tightly encircling them was now opening a path out of the enclave...

A Spellmark on the Third Elder’s body flared to life, unleashing a surge of magical energy. Instantly, sparks appeared in the sky, followed by a cascade of fire...

Countless fireballs, each seven or eight meters across, hurtled toward Leon’s position with terrifying force.

Explosions of flame erupted above the War Ancient Oak, and every fireball that touched its countless branches dissolved into pure fire element.

Yet Leon remained completely unharmed below.

In an instant, every Dark Elf’s face turned pale. Many even shot the Third Elder hostile looks.

But most looked toward Leon, terrified he might truly destroy the Life Sigil Crystal...

Leon stood expressionless beneath the War Ancient Oak, seemingly motionless.

Suddenly, the entire Dark Elf Enclave began to tremble.

In the illusion overhead, the altar formed of living wood shook violently. The Life Sigil Crystal flashed with rainbow light, then, in the next moment, a clear crack appeared across its surface.

In an instant, every Dark Elf felt their strength plummet. The power of their Spellmarks weakened rapidly—within mere seconds, almost every Dark Elf dropped a whole rank, and the weaker they were, the more they fell. Even the Third Elder and Second Elder’s auras faded.

Countless Dark Elves stared in terror at the illusion overhead, every face etched with despair.

And this was just a single crack in the Life Sigil Crystal. If the entire crystal shattered, every Dark Elf in the enclave would lose their power—and within a day, every last one of them would perish...

But the disaster was far from over. The illusion in midair slowly descended, and as the Life Sigil Sanctuary’s image came down, the altar and its surroundings began to materialize.

The altar grew more and more solid, and the scenes around it became increasingly tangible...

When the illusionary world finally touched down, everyone saw the distant buildings crumble in an instant, shattered as if crushed by an overwhelming force...

Part of the Life Sigil Sanctuary had merged with the real world—the ground shook, and space rippled violently.

After a long moment, the tremors ceased. Now, everyone could see that the entrance to the Life Sigil Sanctuary had vanished, replaced by a stretch of overlapping space that spanned several kilometers across the enclave...

This meant the hidden Life Sigil Sanctuary could never be concealed again. The Dark Elves’ greatest secret and foundation were fully exposed—within this vast area, anyone could directly enter the sanctuary.

The upheaval gradually subsided, but the spatial ripples persisted. The overlapping between the Life Sigil Sanctuary and the God-Demon Dominion continued to collide, threatening even greater changes at any moment.

Every Dark Elf’s face was filled with fear. Now, not a single one dared attack Leon; even their magic was suppressed, afraid of provoking him further.

Even the Third Elder’s face showed a trace of bitterness and despair as he glared fiercely at Leon, eyes full of unwillingness and hatred.

To reach this point—it really was just as that damned outsider said. Are we really going to let him leave? I can’t accept it! I can’t! This bastard must die, he must pay for Jairus. My son had the strongest talent in the enclave, he might have reached Sky Rank one day, but now he’s dead by his hand. How can I let him go?

The Second Elder’s face was bitter too—there was no point trying to persuade anyone now. Everyone looked to the Third Elder.

The Third Elder’s expression struggled and shifted for a long time, but he gave no response.

At that moment, a hush fell over everything. Everyone held their breath, waiting for the Third Elder’s move—when suddenly, the distant roar of a wyvern echoed through the air.

Seconds later, everyone saw a troop of Ashen Orcs riding Kodo Beasts charging into the enclave, wyverns screeching overhead, and behind them, a horde of savage Ashen Orc Wolf Riders.

A swarm of Ashen Orcs charged into the Dark Elf enclave as if there were no defenses at all. The War Ancient Oaks guarding the perimeter had already fallen into deep slumber, and the rampaging Ashen Orcs met no resistance as they stormed in.

By the time the Dark Elves realized what was happening, it was already too late...

The strongest defense—the War Ancient Oaks—had all fallen asleep. Nearly all the enclave’s strength had been concentrated here to besiege Leon, leaving the outer defenses dangerously thin. It was the weakest moment in the enclave’s history...

The enclave’s remaining defenses were quickly overrun. The Dark Elves barely resisted before being captured...

A massive Kodo Beast, seven or eight meters tall and over twenty meters long, lumbered forward, toppling every building in its path.

Atop the Kodo Beast sat a sinister-looking Ashen Orc, his throne made entirely of skulls—each one, by its coloration, clearly once belonged to a powerful foe.

His arrogant entrance, complete disregard for anyone, and that wicked throne left no doubt: the Dread Dragon Warlord of the Ashen Orc Tribe had arrived...

"Brewster, my old friend, I’ve come to fulfill my promise—to help you conquer the Dark Elf enclave!"

The Dread Dragon Warlord lounged on his throne of skulls, one hand supporting his chin, the other gripping a bone staff. He smiled warmly at the distant Third Elder, and seeing the state of the Dark Elf enclave, his grin only widened.

That fool, the Flame Dragon Warlord, is probably still wandering around the God-Demon Dominion, and the Black Dragon Warlord—another idiot—must be trying to steal the glory from him...

Who knows how long that prophecy’s been circulating in the tribe? Whether it’s true or not, these idiots are still obsessed with it. When will glory ever be enough? What a foolish dream.

Now that I’ve helped Brewster seize control of the Dark Elf enclave, those two fools—the Flame Dragon Warlord and Black Dragon Warlord—are doomed. Once they’re dead, no one will challenge me for chieftain.

But to make sure Brewster keeps his promise, I can’t let him pull any tricks...

The Dread Dragon Warlord smiled, his mind racing with schemes. Now, swaggering straight into the Dark Elf enclave and openly revealing his intentions, he was cutting off the Third Elder’s escape route.

After years of enmity between Dark Elves and Ashen Orcs, the hatred is known even to newborns. By exposing the plan so blatantly, the Third Elder has no way out—his only option is to seize control of the enclave, with no chance to turn back afterward.

Seeing the Dread Dragon Warlord barge in, the Third Elder’s face lit up with delight.

“Haha, Dread Dragon Warlord, you truly keep your promises...”

I knew only the Dread Dragon Warlord could be relied on. The Flame Dragon Warlord is an upright fool and would never work with me; the Black Dragon is a brute, his head full of abyssal magma. Only the Dread Dragon Warlord is bold enough to be my partner.

Now, it’s clear—he came first to help me seize the Dark Elf enclave, so I get the right to speak first. Later, when I help him take over the Ashen Orc Tribe, how much effort I put in will depend on my mood...

The Third Elder was brimming with confidence, already picturing himself at the very peak of the enclave.

Seeing the Third Elder’s attitude, the Dread Dragon Warlord’s wicked smile grew even wider.

“We’re old friends, after all—I always keep my word. Today, let me help you take control of the Dark Elf enclave. But once it’s done, you must keep your promise and help me seize the Ashen Orc Tribe.”
