Rona Muir's heart softened.
She had always seen Lucas Lin as her little brother.
Now, seeing him begging her to stay, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.
So, without thinking too much, Rona Muir sighed and said, "Alright, but just this once."
"Yes, yes!" Lucas Lin's eyes lit up. "I'll go make you dinner!"
Rona Muir didn't have time to stop him before Lucas Lin happily rushed into the kitchen to get to work.
With nothing else to do, Rona Muir could only wait in the living room.
Her gaze unintentionally swept over the display shelf on the TV wall, where an open photo album lay.
Rona Muir couldn't help but pick it up and flip through it.
The photos in the album traced Lucas Lin's growth, from his swaddled infancy onward.
Rona Muir was stunned when she saw a photo of a radiant woman holding three-year-old Lucas Lin.
For some reason, Rona Muir felt that her features resembled the woman's.
No wonder Lucas Lin relies on and trusts her so much. Could it be that he sees her as a substitute for his mother?
This child really makes one feel sorry for him.
Obedient like a child.
In the later photos, Lucas Lin was still as handsome as ever, but the sparkle in his eyes was gone.
Towards the end of the album, there were only some professional photos taken for his company.
Although they looked nice, they lacked the breath of everyday life.
Obviously, apart from work, he was too lazy to take photos anymore.
Lucas Lin worked quickly and soon finished dinner. He said to Rona Muir, "Dinner's ready! Sorry, I didn't have time to arrange for fresh vegetables to be delivered by property management, so I just made do with what we had. Tomorrow, let me treat you to a proper meal, okay?"
