Nathan Yates’s Romantic Entanglement

2/14/2026

Evan Chu swept through the Star-Vault Hall, pillaging nearly three hundred high-grade stars. Each one was worth a fortune. As for the stars left behind in the vault, it wasn’t that Evan couldn’t take them—he just didn’t care for them.

In an instant, the Chaos Trial World was filled with countless stars. Evan’s beautiful wives were so excited they could barely contain themselves. With this batch of stars, they’d soon reach the early Saint Venerable Realm.

When that happens, their combat strength will rise to a whole new level. Only then can they truly help Evan accomplish things in the Dragon-Chen Legion.

After leaving the Star-Vault Hall, Evan originally planned to thank Mason Mansfield. These stars had solved his urgent crisis—even if everyone helped each other, Evan still felt grateful.

But Desmond Mansfield was so startled that he dragged Evan away in a hurry. Forget meeting Mason—even Desmond didn’t dare face his own father. At first, Evan was confused, but soon he understood. Watching Desmond laugh, Evan could only curse him for being so sly.

Turns out, Mason Mansfield did send word to Desmond, telling him to take Evan for a spin through the treasure vault, but never mentioning the Star-Vault Hall. Desmond, being clever, knew that ordinary treasures wouldn’t interest Evan—he only cared about stars.

So Desmond took it upon himself to lead Evan into the Star-Vault Hall. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but the key point is that after making the rounds with Evan, Desmond sneaked back into the family treasure vault and looted it again.

Not too much, not too little—he took all the best treasures, and every single one was among the top ten!

A family thief is the hardest to guard against! No wonder Desmond didn’t dare so much as say goodbye to anyone at home. He just dragged Evan and slipped away—and for a long time after, he didn’t even dare go back. Whenever he needed to send a message, he’d use his subordinates.

It’s not for any other reason—Mason couldn’t find Desmond, so he vented all his anger on Desmond’s father. And Desmond’s dad isn’t exactly mild-tempered; he swore that if he ever caught Desmond, he’d beat his butt to a pulp!

Evan was speechless—Desmond really was... enough to make you laugh and cry at the same time.

Inside a lavish Starship, Evan, Lena Lin, Lance Li, and Desmond Mansfield sat together at a table. This Starship wasn’t ordinary—it was one of the ten top treasures Desmond had swiped from the family vault.

The Starship wasn’t just grand on the outside—it was fast, and used only as many Starstones as a regular ship. On top of that, it had built-in stealth: while traveling through the endless void, it was invisible to the naked eye beyond three hundred zhang, and even mid-stage Holy Emperors couldn’t sense it.

You could say this Starship could sneak right up on any star-region, hide inside, and not be discovered by any expert.

Plus, the ship had its own offensive power. Sitting inside, you were perfectly safe—as long as the attacker wasn’t stronger than a peak Saint Venerable, it could block any strike below that level!

With such a powerful treasure, it’s no wonder the Mansfield Family valued it so highly. Even the patriarch and elders wouldn’t ride it for travel; most of the time, it was just put on display. But now, Desmond had simply swiped it for a joyride.

“So? How much farther? At this speed, we must be close to Nathan’s position, right?”

“Uh... yeah, we’re close. But... maybe... there’s been a little accident...”

Lance Li hesitated, because news had just come in—something had happened on Nathan’s side.

“What happened? Just spit it out! Since when are you so wishy-washy, Lance?”

“Throne! I honestly don’t know how to say this. Here, I’ll just hand the message stone to the strategist and let him explain.”

Lance looked helpless as he handed the message stone to Desmond.

Desmond’s status had already changed—he was now the Dragon-Chen Legion’s official strategist. His orders represented Evan’s will, and on ordinary days, he was Evan’s equal.

Right now, since Lance couldn’t bring himself to explain, Desmond had to deliver the news instead.

But as soon as Desmond read the message, he burst out laughing. “Hahaha! Evan Chu, so these are your subordinates? You really know how to train your people!”

“Desmond, why are you dragging this out too? Can’t you just say it straight? Or should I check for myself?”

Evan snatched the message stone and, after reading it, was stunned.

“Uh... how could this... Lance, tell me! What’s going on? How did things turn out like this?”

“Throne, it’s actually not that sudden... Back when you were in seclusion at the Mansfield Family, I got a lot of messages. But as you ordered, unless it was something critical, I let Nathan handle it himself. So, here we are.”

“Hahaha! Evan Chu, you’re something else! Really something! Our mighty vice-Throne of Dragon-Chen managed to... sleep with the Red Lark Throne of the Duskmire Dynasty! Incredible! No bloodshed, and you’ve recruited a whole legion just like that. I’m in awe!”

Desmond was laughing so hard he nearly fell over, while Evan was left speechless—he had no idea what had just happened.

The Red Lark Throne wasn’t just anyone—she was the same Red Lark Nathan had encountered outside the Flowing-Light Dynasty’s base star-region.

Of course, things didn’t start out this way.

At first, the two fought fiercely, neither able to win. But as time passed, people started to notice something strange. Nathan could have taken down the Red Lark Throne in an instant—so why didn’t he?

So Nathan’s commanders began to speculate: maybe the vice-Throne and Red Lark had worked together before, maybe there’d been sparks between them a long time ago?

Yeah! That must be it! Only now, standing on opposite sides, they had no choice but to fight.

But the vice-Throne just couldn’t bring himself to kill Red Lark. He looked so conflicted.

So what now? Should we, the loyal subordinates, step in and help out?

Exactly! That’s what happened.

Anyone got a good idea?

So Nathan’s commanders held an emergency meeting overnight, and—under the leadership of a guy with decent authority but a bit of a screw loose—they came up with a plan that was just ridiculous: make it a done deal!

That day, one of Nathan’s commanders called for a temporary truce—both sides would rest for the night and resume fighting in the morning. Nathan was baffled, but he didn’t object, so he agreed.

But that guy slipped something into Nathan’s dinner—something, uh, special. Then he snuck into the Red Lark Legion’s command tent, claiming to deliver medicine from Nathan, and gave Red Lark the same thing.

After that, word spread: Throne Chu had ordered the Red Lark Legion to be let through, and the top commanders were going to have a private meeting.

And then... well, that was it. The medicine kicked in, and Nathan ended up sleeping with Red Lark.
