At this moment, Ethan Fenn glanced at the Obsidian Tortoise Temple Master, clearly wanting to speak his mind. After all, he’d been here for several months, and when he first arrived, he was brought directly—his mother, the Freewind Palace Lord, had no idea he was even here.
To be honest, he really wanted to go back and see her. She was his birth mother—even if he carried the Obsidian Tortoise bloodline, she was the one who gave birth to him. As for why he had the Obsidian Tortoise bloodline, he still didn’t know. He’d asked the Temple Master several times, but never got a straight answer.
“If you want to leave, then go. Once your business is done, hurry back. Don’t forget—you’re the Young Lord of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan. The duty of restoring our clan falls on your shoulders.” The Temple Master said solemnly.
“Sect Master Chu, let’s go now—I want to return to Freewind Palace and see my mother!” Ethan said decisively.
After Evan Chu exchanged a few final words with the Temple Master, he and Ethan Fenn left together. In no time, they passed through the Teleportation Gate and returned to the underwater world where they’d first arrived.
“Ethan, if the Mystic Ice Tortoise doesn’t open its mouth, how are we supposed to get out? And with its body so huge, how can we even find its mouth?” Evan asked, realizing this was a pretty critical question.
“You’re worrying for nothing. I’m the Young Lord of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan. I haven’t been here long, but I definitely know how to get in and out of the Mystic Ice Tortoise. Just follow me!” Ethan said, feeling proud for once that Evan had to rely on him.
Soon, Ethan stopped. Suddenly, a white light flared in his hand, and he began chanting in a language Evan had never heard before—the tongue of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan. Instantly, the water around them shook violently, and their bodies surged forward at incredible speed.
In a flash, Evan found himself back on the surface of the sea, with Ethan not far away, grinning at him. “Ethan, did that thing really spit us out? That’s unreal!”
“Totally normal. The Mystic Ice Tortoise is made of heaven-and-earth Mystic Ice. Even if you’re tens of thousands of li deep inside, it can send you out instantly—kind of like a Teleportation Gate. Otherwise, with a body that size, we’d have to swim for days just to escape. Come on, don’t space out. It’s already dived beneath the surface and merged with the sea.” Ethan explained.
Evan Chu didn’t say another word—acting clueless would only make him look foolish. In a flash, he sped to the shore, where Roxanne Lin and Luna were deep in conversation.
Seeing Evan appear, both women were startled. But Luna quickly spotted Ethan Fenn nearby, instantly transformed into a silver-white miniature sword, and darted into Evan’s brow.
Evan was baffled—why did Luna hide inside him as soon as he returned? He asked, “Luna, why’d you slip into my body? Did Roxanne make you mad?”
“Honestly, you’re so dense. I just don’t want other men seeing me in this form. Why’d you bring Ethan Fenn out here? Did you really find the Obsidian Tortoise Clan?” Luna retorted.
Clearly, Luna didn’t know the Mystic Ice Tortoise’s secret either. “The Obsidian Tortoise Clan really exists inside the Mystic Ice Tortoise’s body. That thing is so huge it’s impossible to describe—there’s a whole world inside, with flowers, plants, everything. Isn’t that wild?”
“That’s normal. It’s called a ‘small world.’ True peerless powerhouses can cultivate ‘great worlds’ inside their bodies, worlds as complete and vast as Dragonreach Continent. You’ll understand one day. Ethan’s coming over.” Luna explained.
Evan felt his mind spinning again—another new term: ‘small world’ and ‘great world.’ Clearly, Luna’s homeland was the truly spectacular realm, the kind anyone would dream of reaching.
“Sect Master Chu, you really are fast—vanished in the blink of an eye. By the way, I thought I saw two people here just now, but now there’s only one. And what was that white light earlier?” Ethan asked, his eyes constantly drifting to Roxanne.
“Must’ve been your imagination—there’s only Roxanne here. As for the white light, I didn’t see anything. Oh, I forgot to introduce you: this is Roxanne Lin, one of my women. She’s not an ordinary human—just like you, she’s one of the Four Divine Beast heirs, the Saintess of the Vermilion Bird Temple!” Evan declared.
Ethan was stunned by Roxanne’s beauty. He couldn’t believe Evan’s luck—every woman at his side was a peerless beauty, enough to make anyone jealous.
“The Saintess of the Vermilion Bird Clan? Looks like you really are something! Can you show your true form now?” Ethan asked Evan, though his eyes were clearly on Roxanne.
“Ethan, trying to gauge her strength? I’d advise you not to. You’re only at the second layer of the Saint Martial Realm, while Roxanne’s already broken through to the fifth. She’s about to evolve into a Divine Fire Phoenix.” Evan warned.
A flash of disappointment crossed Ethan’s eyes. He was clearly shocked by Roxanne’s power. How amazing would it be to have a woman like her? Rina Dreamer should’ve been his, but because of her physique, Evan ended up with her instead.
Still, he didn’t blame Evan. After researching the Gold Yin Constitution, he realized it really would’ve killed him. He couldn’t let Rina spend her life as a widow just for a moment’s happiness.
“Let’s head back to the Azure Tide Ruins! You two go wait for me at Frostbane Sect—I’ll go straight to the White Tiger Clan and bring back Ryan Ouyang. Then we’ll head to Cloudcrest Mountain and enter the Divine Battlefield together!” Evan announced.
“Evan, are we traveling together, or are you going ahead? We can’t keep up with your speed!” Roxanne asked.
“You two go together—I won’t be joining you on the road. You can spar and see who’s faster, but don’t let anyone see your true forms. That’d be way too shocking.” Evan instructed.
Ethan glanced at Evan and asked, “Sect Master Chu, since you’ve got a divine dragon bloodline, can’t you transform into a dragon right now?”
That was a pretty silly question. Back at Frostbane Sect, plenty of people had seen Evan’s golden dragon form—what was Ethan thinking at the time?
“Of course I can. Want to see? If you show your Obsidian Tortoise true form, I’ll reveal my Golden Dragon body. Roxanne will show her Vermilion Bird form too. Let’s see whose sacred beast form is the most imposing!” Evan grinned.
“You said it! Watch this!” Ethan replied. A white light erupted from his body, and in an instant, a giant tortoise dozens of meters across appeared before them.
Evan kept his word. After nodding to Roxanne, he activated his bloodline—a thunderous dragon roar split the air as a golden giant dragon soared into the sky. At the same moment, Roxanne let out a clear phoenix cry; her fiery red feathers seemed to dye the heavens crimson, and a colossal Vermilion Bird appeared beside them, its size rivaling the others.
