Did You Ask My Permission

1/18/2026

Divine abilities and weapons turned into dazzling streams of multicolored light, surging toward Ian Song from all directions like a flood.

By the end, Summer Huanlong's tone had grown especially meaningful.

"Why isn’t he dodging?"

If she kept protecting Ian Song, word would get back to the Summers Family and become ammunition for others to attack her mother.

Another replied, "A hundred Sigilforge experts working together could blast even a Sun-Soul into dust. Besides, every direction—even the sky—is sealed off. Unless he can burrow underground, there’s nowhere to run!"

"Sherry, this has nothing to do with you. Step aside," Ian Song ignored Summer Huanlong and spoke gently to Sherry Summers.

"But...!"

Ian Song emphasized, "Don't worry. If I dared to fall out with them, I obviously have something to rely on. Things aren't as bad as you imagine!"

"Evan Chu!"

Xia Qian stared blankly at the swirling energy. Didn’t Evan Chu say he had a way to handle this? Did he really just die like that?

The next moment, a hint of ferocity appeared on his face. "Evan Chu, I advise you to surrender. You have absolutely no chance to escape."

"No chance?" Ian Song smiled dismissively, his gaze slowly sweeping over the surrounding factions. He said lightly, "If you all retreat now, it's not too late. I won't hold it against you!"

His words stunned everyone.

Someone said, "This guy must be crazy—he actually dares to threaten everyone in this situation!"

Another immediately chimed in, "Maybe he's got some heaven-defying trick up his sleeve!" But his tone was full of sarcasm.

"Evan Chu, even now you're still bluffing?" Summer Huanlong sneered. "I'll ask you one last time—will you surrender or not?"

"Sigh."

"Whoa, Evan Chu isn’t dead yet?"

Summer Huanlong snorted disdainfully, then killing intent flashed across his face as he barked, "Enough with the tricks—seize him!"

As soon as he finished speaking, over a hundred Sigilforge warriors around them attacked at once.

Divine abilities and weapons turned into dazzling streams of multicolored light, surging toward Ian Song from all directions like a flood.

Standing at the center of the attack, Ian Song didn’t even flinch, as if he didn’t care about the hundred Sigilforge experts targeting him.

"Why isn’t he dodging?"

One of the watching warriors asked.

Another replied, "A hundred Sigilforge experts working together could blast even a Sun-Soul into dust. Besides, every direction—even the sky—is sealed off. Unless he can burrow underground, there’s nowhere to run!"

"Or maybe he’s just scared stiff!" another warrior added.

Boom!

In the next instant, the combined attack from a hundred Sigilforge experts swallowed Ian Song’s figure whole. Then came a massive explosion—the energy wave alone demolished the inn, forcing the watching warriors to retreat again and again.

"Evan Chu!"

Xia Qian stared blankly at the swirling energy. Didn’t Evan Chu say he had a way to handle this? Did he really just die like that?

"That’s it?"

"Lame."

"Let’s go. I thought there’d be an epic fight, but..."

Just as the warriors watching were about to leave, two miserable screams rang out.

"Ahhh!"

A white blur flashed by—two of the Sigilforge warriors attacking Ian Song were instantly sliced in half.

The white figure flickered again and again, and more screams followed.

"Whoa, Evan Chu isn’t dead yet?"

"How did he get out?"

Everyone stared at that flashing white figure. In just one breath’s time, eight Sigilforge warriors had been split in half or decapitated by him.

"Damn it!"

Summer Huanlong cursed, his face dark. All those who just died were Daxia Merchant Guild elites.

"Hurry up and attack! We can't let that little bastard keep killing!"

The six Sun-Soul experts standing behind Summer Huanlong sprang into action.

They joined forces, unleashing a coordinated strike, planning to kill Ian Song on the spot.

Boom!

The six Sun-Souls worked together seamlessly. One cast a sealing sigil to lock down the space, stopping Ian Song from escaping. Another sent out a giant golden palm, covering the whole area.

The third and fourth unleashed a red and a purple beam, slashing at Ian Song's legs.

The fifth and sixth sent out two tricky finger strikes—not aimed directly at Ian, but hovering at the edge of the sealed space, ready to explode if he tried to break out.

With all six working together, they'd woven a flawless net—giving Ian Song no chance to turn the tables.

But there's always an exception.

Six figures suddenly appeared next to the six Sun-Soul experts—without warning.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The suddenly appearing figures threw a punch—just a plain punch, no flash, no qi. But that ordinary punch blew apart the heads of all six Sun-Souls.

"What the—?"

"It's those mysterious experts with Evan Chu!" Summer Huanlong's face changed.

But for Sun-Soul experts, losing their physical body doesn't mean true death.

The next instant, a beam of light shot out from each of their headless bodies. But before those lights could fully manifest as Sun-Souls, the demon cultivators reached out, grabbed all six Sun-Souls, crushed them, and swallowed them whole.

While everyone was distracted by the demon cultivators, Ian Song quietly slipped out of the kill zone, fixing a cold stare on Summer Huanlong.

Seeing Ian's gaze, Summer Huanlong instinctively retreated toward the center of his allies, panic flashing across his face.
