Who Do You Think You Are

12/19/2025

Cason Xian spoke respectfully, "Yes, the Grand Elder and one of our members took action, but they were blasted into serious injury. The Supreme Elder seems to have heard of the two opponents' reputations, but even after offering an apology, the other side refused to let us off. Now they're demanding that our Xian Family hand over at least a hundred pieces of seventh-grade Extreme Glaze Silver, ten pieces of eighth-grade Extreme Glaze Silver, and three pieces of ninth-grade Extreme Glaze Silver..."

Joe Di drew in a sharp breath. He had managed to obtain a huge piece of ninth-grade Extreme Glaze Silver, but that had required a stroke of luck. Besides, who else could possess something like his Divine Dao Eye?

"What if you can't hand them over?" Joe Di asked.

"If we can't, the Xian Family will disappear," Cason Xian replied in terror. His fear was genuine, and his eyes held a deep dread.

He had every reason to be afraid. He knew very well that these powerhouses never spoke empty words—if they said the Xian Family would disappear, it would vanish. For those cultivators, erasing the Xian Family was as trivial as letting out a breath.

He was now pleading for Joe Di's help. Deep down, he knew he shouldn't do this, and that it wouldn't solve the problem. If Joe Di went, it might only lead to his death. But it was like a drowning man clutching at straws—even if that straw couldn't save him, he still couldn't let go.

"Did Barnett Xian send you here?" Joe Di asked calmly. Cason Xian's actions clearly showed he valued the family's interests over his own life.

Still, Joe Di didn't mind. He had obtained top-grade Extreme Glaze Silver here, and owed Cason Xian a favor for it.

Cason Xian quickly shook his head. "No, I came on my own. The Grand Elder suspects you are very strong, but never considered asking for your help. Besides, it's only a guess—he isn't certain of your true strength. Brother Di, I know my request is too much. These two people are simply too powerful. If you feel you can't help me, I won't hold it against you at all..."

Joe Di waved his hand. "Lead the way. I'll go take a look."

"Ah..." Cason Xian was only clutching at straws. He had already prepared himself for Joe Di's refusal, but he hadn't expected Joe Di to agree so casually.

Fortunately, he quickly recovered and said with delight, "Yes, yes, Senior Di, please come with me."

Joe Di didn't bother saying much to Cason Xian. Cason had once been a decent cultivator, but the way his address changed from 'Daoist Di' to 'Brother Di' and now to 'Senior Di' showed that he and Joe Di would never truly be friends.

......

Cason Xian led Joe Di to the same guest hall where Joe Di had stayed before. Just a few days ago, the Xian Family had received a mountain of gifts here and arranged the engagement for Moira Xian. Back then, the family was basking in glory—no one dared oppose them. But in just a few days, trouble had come knocking.

"Hahahaha!" As Joe Di reached the entrance, a wild laugh rang out from inside. "Today, I'm bullying your Xian Family with my power—what can you do about it? I'll give you one more day. If you still can't produce the Extreme Glaze Silver we want, don't blame me for turning hostile." Shane Dwan's voice echoed.

Cason Xian's face was deathly pale, but Joe Di waved him back, signaling him to wait outside. Joe Di entered the guest hall with Quinn Fang.

There were only five people in the guest hall. Barnett Xian had blood at the corner of his mouth, yet he was the only member of the Xian Family still able to stand. Winston Xian had lost an arm and was lying on the ground. Besides Winston, there was another cultivator about as strong as Barnett, also gravely injured and lying on the floor, his fate uncertain.

Joe Di only needed to sense the aura to know that the injured cultivator lying on the ground was the same one who had been hiding in Barnett Xian's room during their earlier conversation. To be allowed in Barnett's room, his status must not be lower than Barnett's.

What surprised Joe Di was that he actually recognized one of the supreme powerhouses Cason Xian had mentioned—Jude Wan.

"Daoist Di..." Barnett Xian called out instinctively upon seeing Joe Di enter, shocked and bewildered. How had Joe Di ended up here?

Could it be that Joe Di was in league with the two cultivators causing trouble for the Xian Family?

Joe Di ignored Barnett Xian and looked at Jude Wan with a cold smile. "Old Rooster, fate really brings us together, doesn't it? You're good at running, but you still ended up in my hands."

Joe Di truly hadn't expected to encounter Jude Wan here.

Seeing Joe Di enter, Jude Wan's face turned pale. He knew all too well how strong Joe Di was, and suspected that even with Shane Dwan's help, they weren't a match for him.

"Di... Brother Di... what are you doing here?" Jude Wan was already preparing to flee. If Joe Di made a move, he would run instantly.

Barnett Xian and Winston Xian, lying on the ground with a severed arm, were both stunned. Joe Di looked so young, yet he terrified Jude Wan, that old monster? What was going on?

"Brother Wan, who is this person?" asked the man Joe Di didn't recognize.

This man had sunken eyes, gray hair, and a blood-red gourd hanging at his waist. He exuded a fierce aura. His cultivation seemed weaker than Barnett Xian's, likely only at the peak of Dao Fusion.

"Brother Dwan, his name is Joe Di. I had a little misunderstanding with him before..." Jude Wan introduced Joe Di to his companion, then turned to Joe Di and said, "Daoist Di, this is Shane Dwan. We're just here to buy some Extreme Glaze Silver. Daoist Di, I apologize for our previous conflict. That was my fault. We're all wanderers in the void; it's better to resolve grudges than to deepen them."

Joe Di stretched out his hand, and the Azure Veil Blade appeared in his grip. He said coolly, "Jude Wan, your grandpa here just loves making enemies. If you've got the guts, try running again..."

As he spoke, his domain surged forth, instantly enveloping both Shane Dwan and Jude Wan. Joe Di's target was Jude Wan—if Shane Dwan resisted, Joe Di would abandon him and kill Jude Wan first.

Standing beside Jude Wan, Shane Dwan had planned to act, but sensing Jude Wan's terror and Joe Di's overwhelming domain, he forcibly suppressed his urge to attack.

Shane Dwan knew how ruthless Jude Wan could be, and if even Jude Wan was backing down, it was clear that Joe Di was truly formidable. As Jude Wan said, it's better to resolve grudges than deepen them—he had no feud with Joe Di and didn't want to make one.

Though he was about to reach the peak of Dao Fusion, and Jude Wan hadn't even crossed into Dao Fusion yet, Shane Dwan knew that if he fought Jude Wan, he might suppress him but couldn't kill him. Once Jude Wan broke through, Shane Dwan would no longer be his match.

"Brother Di, wait! I know of an ancient battlefield—the site of the first Creation War. It holds countless opportunities and treasures. If you're willing to let go of our grudge, I promise to take you there. Otherwise, even if you kill me, you'll only vent a little anger. I never really had a feud with you..." Jude Wan pleaded urgently.

He was truly afraid of Joe Di. The vast universe might seem boundless, but in reality, it was small. Once cultivators reached a certain level, they all gathered in the same circles, so running into each other was inevitable. Like this time, when the secret realm in Xianhai appeared with Extreme Glaze Silver, everyone came for it—and naturally, they met again.

Jude Wan knew how terrifying Joe Di was and really didn't want to become mortal enemies with him now, so he lowered himself and sought reconciliation.

"The battlefield of the Creation War?" Joe Di's interest was piqued, and he abandoned his intent to attack. Killing Jude Wan wasn't actually that important to him. A wily old monster like Jude Wan surely knew many things he didn't—if he brought Jude Wan along, he'd gain access to more secrets and opportunities.

With Jude Wan actively seeking peace, Shane Dwan naturally didn't want to fight Joe Di either. He cupped his fists and said, "Seven Veil Shane greets Daoist Di."

Joe Di glanced coldly at Shane Dwan. "What do you think you are? 'Daoist' is not a title for you to use."

As he spoke, the Azure Veil Blade locked the space, and he slashed at Shane Dwan.
