Tempest, Let Us Die Together

12/7/2025

New York City. Two streaks of light sliced across the sky.

One was a massive yellow beam, like the Cloud Giant—a golden Buddha soaring through the heavens. The other, a slimmer streak of black and gold, looked like the Demon Lord—just a glance was enough to feel its overwhelming, savage power. Purple lightning burst from the Cloud Giant's palm, as if the Buddha himself was spitting out thunder to subdue demons. But if good is strong, evil is stronger: on the battlefield, the Cloud Giant was clearly in trouble, getting chased and pounded by the Demon Lord.

A flash of black arc streaked by—followed by a scream. A giant golden leg was sliced clean off, plummeting down into the gaping hole below. But the giant just roared, his body shrinking in size. At the stump, clouds churned and swelled, and in the blink of an eye, a big puff of vapor filled the gap, morphing into a new leg. He was back to full fighting capacity.

The Cloud Giant wasn’t actually regrowing a limb—it was more like slapping together a makeshift prosthetic by hijacking nature itself. Once the power faded, that fake leg would vanish too.

But right now, the giant was out of options.

Whoosh—yellow in front, black behind. Both beams shot straight down from the sky to the ground. When they were up high, New York City residents could whip out their phones and snap pics of the chaos, but once the fight hit street level, the destruction was off the charts.

Boom, boom, boom—before you could blink, buildings were getting punched through left and right. The giant had shrunk to fifteen meters tall, but every collision still made the ground shake. A cloud of dust blasted through four skyscrapers in one breath, sending debris flying everywhere.

In the chaos, the Cloud Giant forced his eyes wide, tracking the black streak’s every move. Unlike his own flashy style, that black light zipped around like a ghost—silent, deadly, impossible to pin down. He couldn’t spot Jill Young’s exact location, but he could feel a crimson gaze locked onto him, the murderous intent so strong it made his hair stand on end.

That killing intent moved with the black light... Now’s the time!

Poof! The cloud burst. The Cloud Giant, who’d just bulldozed through a bunch of buildings, vanished in a flash—dodging the black light that came straight for his chest. In the next split second, yellow light flared above his old spot, purple lightning surging from his hands like a tidal wave, crashing down on the black light below.

But with a loud bang, the giant immediately sensed something was off in his hand. Wait a sec—this shadow wasn’t the woman, it was her weapon!

Before he could react, his chest took the hit.

Boom! The unlucky skyscraper split open like it’d been gutted by some alien monster, leaving a monstrous hole. A huge plume of dust shot straight out of the building, slammed into the ground, and in a blink, blasted open a crater deep underground.

Waaah! Waaah! Waaah!

Amid the rubble, the Cloud Giant staggered to his feet, surrounded by a chorus of screeching alarms. Turns out he’d crashed into a seven-story underground parking lot. Just by standing there, the Cloud Giant spanned four floors—cars everywhere were smashed and flattened by falling debris, and the alarms screamed nonstop, like machine-gun fire on a battlefield.

Headache!

The surge of electricity had cranked his nerves to eleven, but without the right mindset to control his senses, even "The Divine" was feeling dizzy and in pain.

But that deadly intent was closing in—no time to recover. He looked up, and a black streak shot down the hole he’d just made, aiming straight for his head.

Not a chance!

The golden giant’s palm shot out, blasting up from underground with a gust of wind to meet the attacker head-on.

But with another bang, a stabbing pain shot through his palm, and the giant’s face twisted again. Not right—fooled again! Still not the woman!

Crack! The protective yellow glow around his ankle shattered, and the bones beneath screamed in agony.

Compared to the fifteen-meter-tall giant, Jill Young was like a baby not even a year old. But this baby packed a terrifying punch—the pain started at his ankle and shot up his leg, with nonstop cracking sounds echoing all the way.

No good, can’t stay here. This giant size was killing his flexibility, and his senses couldn’t keep up—he was getting clobbered. He needed to get back up into the sky!

Boom! The ground bulged, and the giant burst through the surface, ready to rocket back into the sky. At the same time, his right hand clenched tight, purple lightning snapping shut like a cage as he tried to grab the black light.

Whatever happens, gotta snatch that woman’s weapon first!

But two strong hands beat him to it, grabbing the Eternal Halberd. It was Jill Young! In a split second, Jill Young slipped right into the purple lightning cage, and not a single spark touched her.

Phantom Slipstream!

Next moment, the black arc bloomed like a flower—and so did The Divine’s right hand.

Skin, muscle, bone, blood, nerves—everything turned to flying dust in an instant. At the same time, the halberd’s shadow pierced through space, stabbing straight at him. Thud, thud, thud—the Cloud Giant grunted as the Eternal Halberd poked seventeen or eighteen holes in his chest, golden blood spraying into the sky.

With a flick of her wrist, Jill Young hooked the Cloud Giant, sending him stumbling. Jill Young soared through the air, pulled back, spun, and struck!

Screech! With a harsh scrape and a clean snap, the Cloud Giant's golden arm was chopped off at the shoulder, tumbling down and flattening a huge chunk of ground.

"Aaaaargh!" The Cloud Giant, like a warrior cutting off his own arm, roared and shot upward. Clouds swirled around his stump to patch up the limb, but his body shrank again—down to twelve meters.

Looking up, toxic clouds churned in the sky—the Infernal Poison Cloud had completely taken over Monica. The thick, sticky poison clouds smothered the storm, keeping it from rampaging like before.

Looking down, all his followers were in total retreat. No backup, no allies, no interference—the world was huge, but he was completely alone.

Down below, New York City residents couldn’t stop coughing, all wheezing like they’d caught a bad case of asthma—side effect of the Infernal Poison Cloud. Only a few citizens were actually affected, but every time the Cloud Giant tried to absorb energy, he ended up sucking in a ton of poison too.

As for himself, his energy was almost gone, and the power of Infinite Tempest was fading fast. Once all that energy ran out, he wouldn’t be able to hold his form, the energy cycle would break down, and the poison he’d been suppressing would go wild. That would trigger a full-on chain reaction—he’d be toast.

You could say The Divine was officially out of options.

But... I’m done with Godshatter Fate Swap. No matter how many times I swap, there won’t be any more chances—just a slow slide into the abyss. Instead of waiting to lose everything and die pathetically, I’ll pour everything I’ve got into one last move. Do or die!

O storm, come! Let’s die together!
