Buzz—

Behind Quinn Shepherd, the Buddha shadow spun a radiant halo, beams of light shooting out in all directions, sweeping away even the eerie mist. All around, the constant thuds of falling bodies echoed—he looked about and saw dried corpses tumbling from the air, so many that barely a spot remained to set his foot!

Besides the desiccated corpses, there were also skeletons—stripped of all flesh, only bones left—still clad in broad robes that looked like official uniforms.

The mist around him vanished, restoring clarity in an instant. Yet the song continued, drifting farther away but still hauntingly beautiful and sorrowful, filled with endless grief.

Quinn withdrew his yuanqi, and the Buddha shadow behind him gradually faded away.

"Why are there so many corpses hidden in this hall? These bodies... they're not ordinary people..."

Quinn examined the scene, frowning slightly. There were far too many bodies here, and none had decayed—something wasn’t right. After all, even the Yong River Dragon King’s corpse outside had already rotted away, leaving only bones. How could these bodies be so well preserved?

"There’s one possibility: these corpses entered after the Great Ruins’ cataclysm. Like me and Lina the Spirit Fox, they must’ve discovered the path to the Yong River Dragon Palace and ventured into this hall."

Quinn’s eye twitched as he looked ahead—there were still layers of thick mist deep within the hall.

"Something in the mist must have killed them, turning them into this!"
