Iris Ying and Star Lord Chen waited outside.
"Chen, do you think this second trial is difficult or not?" Iris Ying frowned.
"No idea. I never tried it myself, and I didn't even know there was a second trial," Star Lord Chen replied.
"If it's tough, that's trouble." Iris Ying raised her eyebrows.
"Relax. He's not ordinary." Star Lord Chen always felt he couldn't see through Evan Yang, as if something covered him.
"I can't see through him either," Iris Ying sighed helplessly.
As for Evan Yang, he was currently resisting attacks from three powerful elders, each with water, fire, and earth attributes.
White Hall Master smiled, "Kid, be careful. My fire isn't simple." With that, flames wrapped around Evan Yang like venomous snakes, while the other two elders unleashed their own attributes, instantly plunging Evan into a world of water, fire, and earth.
Evan Yang smiled, "So I just need to last a quarter-hour?"
"Of course," White Hall Master replied with a smile.
Evan Yang grinned, "Alright, a quarter-hour. Then I'll just stay here in the world you've created."
White Hall Master initially thought Evan Yang was just showing off, but to his surprise, Evan remained perfectly fine in the world of water, fire, and earth—far more terrifying than expected.
After several breaths, Evan Yang still stood there as if nothing had happened, smiling silently at the three elders.
White Hall Master suspected Evan Yang might have some artifact that made him immune. If things went on like this, the quarter-hour would be too easy to pass, so he said, "Everyone, attack up close."
White Hall Master attacked, while the other two elders supported with their attributes. White Hall Master threw a punch containing eighty percent of his strength, striking directly at Evan Yang's fist.
Evan Yang extended his own fist, and as the two collided—boom—he stood firm within the range of their attribute attacks, a faint light radiating from his body, and he withdrew his hand.
White Hall Master was shocked. Evan Yang's punch was powerful, but considering Evan had hunted two solid-stage creatures, he must have real strength. White Hall Master switched attack directions, but Evan quickly blocked them each time.
The other two elders, seeing this, also tried different attacks. Evan Yang was suddenly fighting three at once, feeling the strain; if not for his powerful divine sense monitoring all three, he wouldn't know how long he could last.
Crackling sounds echoed, but since it wasn't a life-or-death fight, no one used full force. That let Evan Yang unknowingly pass the quarter-hour.
During that quarter-hour, Evan Yang was completely unharmed.
"Young and truly gifted. To be completely unharmed after a quarter-hour—you're the first," White Hall Master withdrew his hand and smiled.
"Thank you for going easy on me," Evan Yang smiled.
"Since you've passed both trials, congratulations—you're now a Top Hunter," White Hall Master smiled.
Evan Yang smiled, "Thank you, seniors."
White Hall Master led Evan Yang to another room. Inside was a huge stone covered with all kinds of handprints. White Hall Master said, "Place your hand here. Leave your palmprint, and from now on you'll be a Top Hunter."
Curious, Evan Yang followed White Hall Master's instructions and placed his hand on the stone. Soon, his palmprint appeared on the stone's surface.
"To let others know you're a Top Hunter, just raise your palm to the sky. After a moment, your unique palmprint will appear overhead, and everyone will recognize your status," White Hall Master explained.
Evan Yang examined his hand curiously, then smiled, "Thanks."
"Let's go, those two have been waiting." White Hall Master saw Iris Ying and Star Lord Chen anxiously waiting at the exit, wanting to ask about the results but unable to.
Evan Yang smiled and followed White Hall Master to where Iris Ying and Star Lord Chen were waiting.
When Evan Yang emerged, Star Lord Chen and Iris Ying rushed forward, excited. Iris Ying asked, "How did it go? What happened?"
"Not bad," Evan Yang smiled.
"What do you mean, 'not bad'?" Star Lord Chen asked suspiciously.
"He means he passed!" White Hall Master laughed.
"But how come he's completely unharmed?" Star Lord Chen wondered.
Evan Yang smiled, "You want to know what I'm hiding?"
Star Lord Chen had assumed the second trial would be very difficult, but seeing Evan Yang unscathed made him curious.
"Alright, you can go now. I won't see you off," White Hall Master smiled, then turned and left.
After White Hall Master left, Iris Ying leaned in, "So? Was the second trial hard?"
"One person has to withstand three people's attacks—what do you think?" Evan Yang smiled.
Iris Ying and Star Lord Chen both knew how formidable those three elders were. For Evan Yang to face them alone was truly difficult. The two exchanged doubtful glances, but Evan just smiled again, "It's fine."
"Then you..." Iris Ying wanted to ask if Evan Yang had succeeded.
Evan Yang smiled, "I'm already a Top Hunter."
"Really? That's great, congratulations!" Iris Ying exclaimed in delight.
Star Lord Chen also smiled, "I knew you could do it."
"Thanks to both of you for your concern. Let's go," Evan Yang said gratefully.
"Yeah, let's go," Iris Ying smiled. Then the three of them exited the teleportation array and arrived outside.
Once outside in the city, Evan Yang asked curiously, "Do you know where the Divine Saint Star is?"
"Yang, you're in such a hurry to go already?" Star Lord Chen said in surprise.
"No choice. I have important business." Evan Yang knew time was tight—no matter what, he had to find the Divine Saint Star and search for the Plane Lord's seal.
"If that's the case, let us escort you," Star Lord Chen said.
"That might be a bit troublesome," Evan Yang said awkwardly.
"What's troublesome about it? Let's go!" Iris Ying laughed.
So Star Lord Chen and Iris Ying accompanied Evan Yang, chatting about the trials along the way.
Finally, they arrived at the outskirts of the Divine Saint Star, which was shrouded in a strange light barrier. Brute force alone couldn't get through. Seeing the barrier, Star Lord Chen smiled, "If you're a Top Hunter, you can enter."
"Thanks again, both of you. See you next time," Evan Yang smiled.
"Come have a proper drink with us next time. We didn't get to last time," Star Lord Chen laughed.
"Definitely. You two head back," Evan Yang smiled.
Star Lord Chen nodded, and Evan Yang walked up to the barrier, trying to enter but was blocked. He frowned, then looked at his palm, recalled what White Hall Master had said, and raised his hand to the sky. Instantly, a palmprint appeared, and Evan Yang passed into the light.
Watching from outside, Star Lord Chen and Iris Ying were full of envy. Even though they were a Star Lord and a squad captain, they'd never been inside—they simply weren't qualified.
"Where exactly is he from, and who is he?" Iris Ying muttered.
"No idea. If he wants to tell us someday, he will. Let's head back," Star Lord Chen said.
"Yeah, let's go," Iris Ying said. The two left the outskirts of the Divine Saint Star.
Meanwhile, inside the Divine Saint Star, Evan Yang found many planets, but it was desolate—his divine sense couldn't detect a single person. "Why is it so deserted?" Evan Yang frowned.
As Evan Yang moved around, lightning fell from the sky, striking him. The lightning wasn't powerful, and its effect was unclear, but Evan noticed it was everywhere around the Divine Saint Star, even inside. "Why all this electricity?" Evan wondered. "It's to keep creatures out. If you don't reveal your true form, at least it proves you're a real human." A voice suddenly spoke.
Evan Yang frowned, "Who are you?" He saw no one, only heard the voice. "Me," the voice replied. Evan looked closely and found a mosquito-like creature near his ear. To his shock, it was the mosquito speaking to him. "You?"
"That's right, it's me," the creature said.
"You are...?" Evan Yang wanted to ask what it was, but didn't finish.
"I'm the Divine Saint Star's great guardian bug—Saint Bug," the creature said.
"Uh... so where did all the humans go?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"Here? There aren't any humans," the creature replied suddenly.
Evan Yang frowned, "That can't be. Isn't the divine incarnation supposed to be here?"
"That? It's just for the humans outside to have something to believe in. The divine incarnation here long ago turned into air, drifting around," the creature laughed.
Evan Yang was stunned. What should he do now? If he couldn't find the divine incarnation, who could tell him about the whereabouts of the Plane Lord? He'd come all this way, becoming a Top Hunter just to enter here—was this place just an empty planet?
Seeing Evan Yang's shocked expression, the creature laughed, "What do you think? Disappointed?"
Evan Yang eyed the creature suspiciously, "Are you lying to me?"
"I'm not lying. The divine incarnation's body is gone, but its soul remains," the creature laughed.
Evan Yang was overjoyed, "Where is it?"
"I can't say," the creature stopped laughing and replied.
"Why not?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.
"The divine incarnation is another form of the deity, extremely important. Though its body is gone, its soul is fragile and vital, so it's scattered throughout the Divine Saint Star. If you're fated, you'll find it. Everything depends on your own search," the creature explained.
Evan Yang asked suspiciously, "So it's all up to fate?"
"Of course. How could anyone just meet a deity?" the creature laughed.
Evan Yang understood now—the divine incarnation's soul was still here, just scattered somewhere around the Divine Saint Star. If he couldn't find it, it was simply fate. And if so, he could forget about finding the Plane Lord. Thinking this, Evan Yang hurriedly asked, "So I can go search now?"
"Yes, you can. Welcome to this world. If you have any questions, I can help you," the creature laughed.
