Red Dragon Ascends to Slay the Snake Demon

"Just learn my Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art! In this world, there's no technique stronger than my Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art..." Granny Soul immediately launched into her endless sales pitch.

Ryan Ling quickly cut her off: "Enough with the advertising. I know your Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art is awesome, but the snake demon's right here! I don't have time to learn anything, and you charge so many Merit Points—who can afford that?"

"No worries! In a crisis like this, you can just learn half a move to block it, then talk later. I'm super friendly to newbies—we can do installments! If you can't cough up 100,000 Merit Points, just pay 10,000 now and get started!"

Hearing that, Ryan Ling nearly coughed up blood. Granny Soul and the System were a match made in hell—one hustling for cash, the other scheming for Merit Points.

And they always pick the worst times—when Ryan can't possibly say no!

Honestly, they're a total comedy duo!

After smacking down May Wu at Prosperity Tower Banquet Hall, helping Harvey Jin save face for the nation, and crushing Living Buddha Sangji last time, Ryan finally scraped together a little over 10,000 Merit Points. With the Special Item Store reopening soon, he figured it was time to treat himself to something nice.

But Ryan never expected Granny Soul had been eyeing his Merit Points wallet all along.

"Fine, you win! Take your 10,000 Merit Points and just give me the killer move already!" Ryan cut her off, knowing this old lady was way too good at business.

"Alright, cool, you got your 10,000. Call it the down payment for your Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art installment plan. Remember, you still owe me 90,000!" Granny Soul finished, and in a flash, a streak of golden light shot into Ryan's brow.

"Wait, I never agreed to a loan! I only wanted to buy one killer move for 10,000!" Ryan blurted out, stunned.

"Nope! This demon-slaying ultimate only works with the Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art. Even though you just paid 10,000, this time I'll let you experience the power of quasi–first realm Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art. Enjoy it while it lasts—see you!" Granny Soul said, vanishing in a puff of smoke before Ryan could regret it.

That damned old lady!

Ryan cursed her in his heart, but there was nothing he could do.

Now he was stuck—owing the System over a million, Granny Soul 90,000 Merit Points, and running into these two swindlers meant he'd be in debt forever.

Still, even if he got scammed, a line of golden text suddenly appeared inside Ryan's body: "Congratulations, you've learned the demon-slaying ultimate Red Dragon Slash. Trust me, Red Dragon Slash is way better than that trial move. I've temporarily boosted you to quasi–first realm Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art for two hours. Make the most of it—go slay that demon, kid!"

"Damn!" Ryan shot Granny Soul a fierce glare, but he could already feel a massive power surging through his body. The Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art was nuts, and this was just a fraction of the first realm. For a moment, Ryan felt almost invincible.

Power flooded his body, almost overflowing. At that moment, astral winds whipped up around Ryan, the kind only top-tier grandmasters could wield—usually you'd have to be a terrifying master to pull this off.

"No good, I can't hold out much longer!" Yuan Zhenggang shouted from the other end.
