Deputy Director Xing

Seeing Stephen Song's wife treat him with such respect, Deputy Director Xing felt extremely pleased. His gaze swept over Shelly Song's beautiful youthful face, and an evil thought suddenly popped into his mind.

He knew that Stephen Song was doomed this time, because his connections in the city had revealed that the ones targeting Stephen were none other than the Nangong Family.

Forget little Riverstone City—even in all of Tianhe State, there are few who can match the Nangong Family. For a deputy director like Stephen Song with no real backing, the Nangong Family could squash him as easily as crushing an ant.

At this thought, the evil seed in Deputy Director Xing's heart began to sprout and rapidly swell. The way he looked at Shelly Song became heated and lecherous.

Seeing this, Ian Song's eyes turned cold—he wished he could smash Deputy Director Xing's ugly face to a pulp. Shelly Song also felt a deep disgust toward him.

"How about this? I have a long-term private room at Sky Crane Tea House. Why don't we go there to talk?" Deputy Director Xing withdrew his gaze and said.

"Alright, we'll do whatever Deputy Director Xing says." Yvonne Yang said flatteringly.

"Here's the plan: you all head to the tea house and wait for me there. I need to take care of a few things first, then I'll come over."

After leaving the Education Bureau, Ian Song finally couldn't hold back and said, "Aunt Yvonne, I don't think Deputy Director Xing is a good person. I'm afraid he has other motives!"

"Mom, Ian's right. Deputy Director Xing is also a deputy director, same rank as Dad, but it was the Anti-Corruption Office that took Dad away. What help can he really offer? I think you shouldn't let him trick you." Shelly Song frowned and analyzed.

Yvonne Yang looked utterly helpless, her tone full of resignation: "I know all that, but what else can I do? We have to try every possible way. Stephen once said Deputy Director Xing has strong backing in the city. As long as we can save Stephen, I'm willing to pay any price!"

By the end, Yvonne Yang's tone had become extremely determined.

With things said to this point, Ian Song couldn't persuade her any further. At the same time, he felt a newfound respect for Aunt Yvonne. After all, it's said that couples scatter when disaster strikes, but she's willing to do anything to save her husband—she's clearly not cold-hearted.

Shelly Song wanted to say more, but Ian Song stopped her with a look.

The three of them took a cab to Sky Crane Tea House. The staff greeted them and led them into a private room—clearly, Deputy Director Xing had already made arrangements.

Because of Stephen's situation, all three were in low spirits, quietly waiting for Deputy Director Xing to arrive.

One hour passed.

Two hours passed.

Deputy Director Xing never showed up. Yvonne Yang grew restless and wanted to call him to hurry him up, but was afraid of offending him.

Ian Song's expression turned cold. It was obvious Deputy Director Xing was deliberately leaving them hanging, making him seem even more suspicious.
