"Uh—wait—stop, just—just hold on—" Shawn Young hurriedly reached out to cup her pretty face, stopping her from going any further.
The beautiful girl’s expression changed at his words. She nervously asked Shawn, "Ah! Sir, are you—are you not satisfied? Did I not do well enough? I—I can improve! Please don’t be upset with me—"
"No, you—you did great, that’s not what I meant. I just think—with a girl as gorgeous as you, you’ve got plenty to be proud of. You don’t need to act like those... you know. Just be yourself! I’ll actually like you even more that way—" Shawn said nervously, voicing his true feelings.
The beautiful girl blinked her big eyes, shook her head gently, and blushed as she said to Shawn, "Be myself? I—I don’t get it! I’ve never even had a real boyfriend, so I don’t know what ‘natural’ is supposed to be—Sir, could you teach me? I’ll try my best to be just how you want!"
"Oh! Well, sure! I just think if you’re more natural, that’s even better. Like, just treat me as your—your boyfriend. Um, maybe we can talk first, get to know each other a bit. Then, then if we go further, it’ll feel better! Because—I don’t want to be strangers with someone I’ve been intimate with—" Shawn tried to explain.
"Oh—Sir, so what do you want me to do? I’m not really sure what you mean!" The beautiful girl clearly didn’t understand.
"Well—since you want to be my woman, then I want to take responsibility for you! I don’t like that whole using-each-other thing! Do you get it?" Shawn cupped her pretty face and spoke earnestly.
"Sir—so you mean—you want me to be your woman? Like, a long-term thing?" The beautiful girl suddenly understood Shawn’s intentions.
"Uh—yeah! That’s exactly what I’m thinking!" Shawn nodded.
"Sir—you're so greedy!" The beautiful girl shot Shawn Young a blushing, playful glare and teased him.
"That's right. I think a girl like you is not only beautiful, but also strong-willed and rare. If your family hadn't gone through such trouble, I would never have had the chance to meet you! You're someone worth cherishing. If you truly trust me, then you should believe I’m the man who can take care of you!" Shawn said, brimming with confidence.
The beautiful girl shivered at his words, her eyes fixed on Shawn for a long moment before she softly said, "Okay! I—I choose to believe you! I hope you really can keep your promise!"
Shawn smiled and reached out his hand to her. "Don’t worry, I’ll keep my promise! Let’s officially introduce ourselves—my name is Shawn Young! I’m a third-year history major at Southern University!"
The beautiful girl shook his hand, speaking softly, "I’m Rainie Bai! Senior in International Trade at Beijing University of Finance and Economics!"
"Oh! I didn’t expect you to be a senior at Beijing University of Finance and Economics! That’s a great school! You’re really impressive, Rainie!" Shawn said with a smile.
"Uh—so you’re also a college student! Why did you come to this place? Can you help me?" Rainie Bai’s heart started to race, and she began to doubt her usually sharp intuition.
"Don’t worry, Rainie! My reason for coming to the Mai Zayan Special Economic Zone is very special! I’m not here to gamble!" Shawn knew Rainie had doubts about him, so he smiled reassuringly.
"But do you have any way to help me—you know why I’m here. My goal is simple—to find my father and bring him home! Because—because my mother passed away! Her last wish was for me to find my father and help him start over!! That’s my only goal now!" Rainie’s eyes shimmered with tears as she spoke.
"Your father lost everything to gambling and is too ashamed to come home. Even if you find him, do you think he’ll willingly go back with you? With his personality, is that really possible? Do you have any way to convince him?" Shawn asked Rainie.
Rainie Bai nodded and said, "I know my father's temperament! He's too ashamed to return home because he lost all his money! So this time, I came here with two plans. First, I wanted to persuade him to come home and start over, but now I realize that's impossible, so I have to go with plan B—"
"Oh? What's plan B?" Shawn asked.
"Let him keep gambling! Win it all back at the tables! I’ve already prepared a million—that’s the money he left for my mom and me!" Rainie said.
"Let him keep gambling!? You really think he can win it back? What if he loses that million too? Have you thought about what’s actually more likely? Besides, a million isn’t much capital in this place!" Shawn challenged her.
Rainie paused at his words, then resolutely said, "If he loses another million but agrees to come home, I can accept that! As long as we go back, we can start over from scratch!"
"But—what if he loses it all and still refuses to go home with you?" Shawn pressed.
Rainie shuddered at his words and said, "I—I’ve done all I can! If he still refuses to go home, then—I won’t go back alive!"
Shawn hadn’t expected her determination to be so strong. He was stunned for a moment, then let out a long sigh and took her hand, speaking seriously: "Don’t worry. With me here, you won’t have to go down that road! And I’ll make sure your father goes home with you!"

Rainie’s expression instantly became excited. She gripped Shawn’s hand tightly and asked, "Really? You—you really have a way?"
Shawn gently stroked her soft, pretty face and smiled, "Yeah, since your father wants to win it all back at the tables, I’ll help him make that wish come true! That’s my promise to you!"
Rainie’s body stiffened as she looked at Shawn in disbelief. "You—you’re confident my father can win?"
Shawn nodded and said, "Yeah, I didn’t know much about casinos before, but now I’ve learned a thing or two. So, I’ll find a way to help your father win!"
Rainie still couldn’t believe it and asked, "You—you’re not going to cheat, are you? I heard if the casino catches you cheating, they’ll beat you to death!"
Shawn smiled and said, "Heh—cheat? I don’t need to cheat; I can win just fine!"
Seeing Rainie’s look of disbelief, Shawn didn’t say anything. He just smiled, picked up a deck of cards from the nightstand, randomly drew two cards, and laid them out in front of Rainie—a heart and a spade. He said, "Tell me what you want these two cards to become, and I’ll make it happen!"
Rainie hesitated and said, "Turn them into two aces! One ace of hearts and one ace of spades! Can you really do that?"
Shawn smiled and nodded, "Just a little trick!" As he spoke, he activated his inner Polaris True Qi, swiftly formed a sword gesture with his right hand, and chanted under his breath. Then he pointed at the two cards—“Whoosh—” a nearly invisible white light shot out, hitting the cards. Instantly, something strange happened—the two cards turned into an ace of hearts and an ace of spades.
