False Accusations

April was flustered. "When did I ever kick Lila Green in the stomach? Stop making things up! I was just holding onto your leg, I didn't kick your belly at all!"

Lily Evans and Belle entered, seeing the chaos in the room and Lila Green pinned down by two maids. Instantly, Lily's face darkened.

When Lila Green saw Lily, tears streamed down her face as she sobbed pitifully. "Sister Lily, I just wanted to visit you today, but who knew the maid would hold a grudge against me. I only glanced at the jewelry, and she came over and kicked me in the stomach! She even said she wanted to kill my unborn child so the Evans Family would have no descendants! Sister Lily, you have to teach that black-hearted wretch a lesson. When she used to serve me, her hands were never clean, always stealing, and she was so lazy with her work!"

"That's not true, I didn't!" April anxiously knelt at Lily Evans's feet. "Madam, it's not like that! Lila Green wanted to steal the old lady's jewelry, and I was holding her leg to stop her. I swear I didn't kick her in the stomach, nor did I want the Evans Family to be left without heirs! Mrs. Iron was right here watching, she can vouch for me!"

April crawled over on her knees, clutching Mrs. Iron's sleeve. But Mrs. Iron, not wanting to offend Lila Green, covered her eyes and shook her head. "I—I didn't see anything, don't ask me, I know nothing!"

Seeing Mrs. Iron refuse to testify, Lila Green grew even more smug and cried, "Sister Lily, you must be careful with these two maids! April used to steal things, and Belle is even worse! Whenever patrons came to see me, Belle would try to steal my clients! That shameless wretch can't help herself around men—be careful she doesn't climb into your husband's bed!"

Belle was so angry her lips turned purple. "Lila Green, you liar! Who can't walk when they see a man? Watch your mouth or I'll tear it right off!"

Lila Green snorted, "Oh, so now I'm wronging you? Look at you, all dressed up and pretty today—aren't you just trying to seduce the master? Why are you so worked up, did I hit a nerve? Lily, sister, listen to me and kick these two shameless maids out! Otherwise, one day they'll climb into your husband's bed and trample all over you!"

"Madam, the two of us have always served you and the old lady wholeheartedly. We have absolutely no other intentions!" Belle knelt beside April at Lily Evans's feet. Previously, Mrs. Gold had falsely accused Belle of seducing Lucky, and Lily had believed Belle. But as the saying goes, 'If enough people repeat a rumor, it becomes the truth.' Belle was genuinely afraid that if it happened again, even Lily might begin to doubt her.

Lily Evans rubbed her brow, her good mood from visiting the Vegetarian Bistro completely gone. Her face darkened as she asked April to explain what happened.

Lila Green stubbornly refused to admit anything, insisting she was only looking around and hadn't touched a thing. She accused April of kicking her in the stomach to cause her to lose the baby, and of framing her for theft.

Mrs. Iron kept her head down, clearly not wanting to offend anyone. When Lily Evans questioned her, she only replied that she hadn't seen clearly and didn't know what happened.

After hearing everyone's statements, Lily Evans rubbed her brow. "Enough, I understand. Tie her up and throw her out."

Lila Green glared triumphantly at Belle and April. "Did you hear that, you little wretches? Your mistress is going to have you tied up and thrown out!"

Lily Evans pointed at Lila Green from afar and ordered, "Tie her up and throw her out! From now on, she's forbidden to step foot in this house ever again, do you hear me?"
