Hearing Landon Lu’s mocking words, Shawn Shen’s expression instantly turned cold. He glared at Landon and said, “Who the hell do you think you are? Just a small-time Special Police officer, and you dare provoke me? If you know what’s good for you, you’d better disappear from my sight right now. Otherwise, I’ll show you how to behave!”
"Landon, ignore him. Let’s just go!" Amber Liu came over and grabbed Landon’s arm, clearly not wanting him to get into a fight with Shawn Shen and risk getting the worst of it.
"Alright." Landon nodded.
"Stop right there! Did I say you could leave?" Shawn Shen shouted angrily.
"Oh? Are you planning to treat us to a late-night snack or something?" Landon asked with a smile.
Suddenly, Shawn Shen stepped forward, jabbing a finger at Landon’s nose and cursing, “Kid, you better get clear about your place, or you won’t even know how you’ll die next time!”
Smack!
Without warning, Landon swung his palm and slapped Shawn Shen across the face. Instantly, five bright red finger marks appeared on Shawn’s cheek.
Shawn Shen clutched his cheek in disbelief, staring at Landon and demanding, "You actually hit me?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Landon replied with a smile.
"Bastard! I’ll kill you!"
Shawn Shen roared and lunged at Landon, but Landon simply kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying several meters away.
Landon strode over, looking down at Shawn Shen as he struggled to get up from the ground. Calmly, Landon said, "Remember, I’m not your dad—I’m not here to keep spoiling you. If you keep provoking me over and over, do you really think I have infinite patience?"
"You...!"
Hearing Landon’s words, Shawn was so angry he nearly spat blood.
Landon ignored him and turned to leave.
Inside the flying car.
Amber Liu said worriedly, "Landon, Shawn Shen is from the Shen Clan. Are you sure this won’t cause trouble?"
"What trouble could there be?" Landon chuckled dismissively. "Guys like him—spoiled young masters—care more about their reputation than anything. If he doesn’t have to, he’ll never go around telling people he got beaten up. He’ll probably go out of his way to hide it."
"But he might try to get revenge!"
"What’s there to be afraid of? Guys like him—spoiled young masters—don’t actually have any real tricks up their sleeves!"
"Still, you should be careful these days—just in case you trip up somewhere unexpected!"
Sure enough, over the next few days, nothing happened with the Shen Clan targeting Landon. That put Amber Liu at ease.
However, after work one day, Frank Lu invited her out for dinner.
She hesitated about this, because Frank Lu wasn’t as refined and gentlemanly as he appeared—in fact, he often used work as an excuse to get handsy with her.
What should she do?
Should she go, or not?
If she refused, Frank Lu would definitely make things difficult for her at work. But if she went, he might try something...
Thinking about this, she felt utterly troubled and conflicted.
"Sis Liu, what are you thinking about, so lost in thought?" a voice sounded beside her.
"Oh, it’s you, Landon. The minister wants to treat me to dinner tonight, and I just don’t know if I should go!" Amber Liu said, her face full of worry. Ever since that banquet, she and Landon had grown much closer—before, she’d never have shared this kind of problem, but now she told him without hesitation.
"He’s not inviting you just for dinner—I bet that guy’s got something shady on his mind!" Landon sneered.
"So what should I do? Should I go or not?" Amber asked anxiously.
"Go, of course! If someone’s buying, why not enjoy a free meal?" Landon said with a laugh.
"But what if he tries something?" Amber said, even more worried.
Landon replied, "That’s easy—I’ll keep an eye on things. If he tries anything, I’ll step in and save you!"
"Thank you so much!" Amber said gratefully.
"No problem, that’s what friends are for!" Landon waved it off.
Soon, it was time to get off work. Frank Lu was clearly very cautious—even though he’d invited Amber to dinner, he left first by car.
Only afterward did he send Amber the restaurant’s address.
Amber sent Landon the restaurant’s location.
The restaurant was called Ru Xue, a Japanese-style eatery run by islanders.
With a sweep of his clairvoyant power, Landon spotted Frank Lu kneeling inside a private room.
Amber soon arrived and was led into the same private room as Frank Lu.
At first, Frank Lu acted gentlemanly during dinner, but after a few drinks, he started getting handsy with Amber.
Amber resisted, her face full of disgust.
Growing impatient, Frank Lu activated his hypnosis technique. Instantly, Amber stopped resisting.
"Heh heh!"
Frank Lu leered and reached out to touch Amber’s cheek. Just as his fingers were about to make contact, a figure suddenly appeared out of nowhere—a swift chop to his neck knocked him out cold.
Of course, it was Landon who knocked Frank Lu out. With a thought, he transformed into Frank Lu’s appearance, stowed Frank Lu away in the Divine Temple, and led the hypnotized Amber out of the restaurant.
*Snap!*
Landon snapped his fingers, and Amber woke up.
As soon as she came to, she quickly checked her clothes and body. Finding nothing wrong, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Landon, I really owe you this time—if not for you, that guy would’ve gotten away with it!" Amber said angrily. "By the way, where is he?"
"I’ll make sure he gets what’s coming to him. For now, let me take you home," Landon replied with a smile.
Amber didn’t refuse. She never would have imagined Frank Lu would stoop so low as to hypnotize her—she was still shaken by the experience.
The flying car soon arrived at Amber’s apartment.
After getting out, Amber invited, "Would you like to come in for some tea?"
"No need, I still have to take care of that guy’s business," Landon said apologetically with a smile.
"Right, go ahead then."
Watching Landon drive away, Amber couldn’t help but feel a little empty inside.
Landon drove out to the suburbs, released Frank Lu, hypnotized him to erase all post-work memories, and then stripped him of everything—even his underwear.
Frank Lu woke up after midnight, shivering from the cold.
Dazed, he looked around and realized he was lying naked in the wild—instantly, panic set in.
"Damn it... What the hell happened?"
He tried desperately to remember what had happened, but couldn’t recall a thing.
Now he faced the problem of how to get back to the city—he’d lost everything, and was stark naked. The only option was to walk, but as soon as he entered the city limits, SkyGrid would spot him.
If SkyGrid captured footage of this, his reputation as the Special Police minister would be ruined beyond repair.
Thinking of this, anger surged in his heart. "Damn it, if I ever find out who did this, I’ll make sure they pay!"
