Verbal Onslaught

After being slashed once more, Joe Di appeared even more panicked, swinging his battered blade for another strike.

It was once again the Di Family Seven Blades: First Blade. If the first strike had left a mark on Sam Sang, this second slash only caused his lapel to flutter.

At the same time, Sam Sang's third blade slashed across Joe Di's back, sending another spray of blood into the air.

By now, Joe Di was keenly aware of the gap between himself and Sam Sang. This man's strength wasn't just comparable—it was at least half a tier above his own.

"Kid, is that all you know?" Sam Sang sneered, his long blade whipping up a relentless wave of blade energy as he struck at Joe Di again and again.

Each slash drew fresh blood from Joe Di, yet Sam Sang realized he had overestimated him. As for Joe Di's earlier killing of Zane Bi's men, Sam Sang wasn't surprised. That sudden blade was hard to dodge, but once avoided, Joe Di's threat dropped sharply.

Even though Joe Di was now at Qi Training Level One, his body several times more agile than before, Sam Sang's flurry of strikes still carved bloody lines across him.

"Thud!" Sam Sang's blade sliced across Joe Di's right leg, causing him to stumble and collapse. Sam Sang showed no mercy, his long blade sweeping through the air with a deadly aura toward Joe Di's left leg. He said casually, "Don't worry, Quentin. I'm at least a Xuan-level martial artist—killing an ant like this..."

Though Sam Sang spoke indifferently, he was actually wary of Joe Di—after all, Joe Di only had a short dagger, yet Sam Sang still hadn't managed to kill him.

Seeing Joe Di only taking a beating, Quentin Jia finally relaxed. Lydia Lu and Sam Sang were evenly matched, so it seemed Lydia hadn't encountered Joe Di. If she had, Joe Di wouldn't have lasted until Sam Sang's ambush.
