Sterilization Medicine

It happened to be the day after New Year's, and the Royal Academy of Mathematics was opening for the new semester.

After attending the opening ceremony and teaching her class, Lily Evans returned to the Hayes Family Estate at dusk—only to find someone secretly waiting for her.

The visitor was one of the Blossom Sisters, originally purchased by Madam Lou to entrap Alexander Hayes, now the newly acquired concubine of Marquis Weiyuan.

The young concubine greeted Lily Evans with great respect, kneeling on the floor. "Your servant pays respects to the mistress."

"Rise and speak. What brings you here in secret today?" Lily asked.

The young concubine stood up, sat down properly, then took out a small jar and placed it on the table before Lily. "Mistress, Madam Lou from the Marquis Valor Estate secretly drugged the chicken soup my sister and I drank. We know a bit about medicine, so we discovered it. This is the chicken soup—the medicine inside, we preliminarily identified as Sterilization Medicine, which prevents women from bearing children."

Lily looked at the small jar and sneered, "Madam Lou must be getting desperate now."

The young concubine nodded. "Isn't that so? Lately, the Marquis has been obsessed with having more children. Ever since my sister and I joined the household, he visits us almost every night—if he's not in my room, he's in my sister's—always talking about wanting us to give him more healthy sons. He doesn't visit Madam Lou's rooms at all these days. Of course she's anxious."

Lily nodded, thinking to herself that the Marquis only had one son, and after falling out with her, he must be eager to have more children to rely on in his old age.

Madam Lou is already quite old and hasn't conceived in years—she's clearly unable to have any more children.

Lily Evans grinned, clearly pleased. "Nicely done! Be sure to collect your reward later. Tsk, since Madam Lou likes playing dirty, we'll just have to show her how it's really done."

The young concubine blinked, completely baffled by Lily's words.

Then Lily Evans asked someone to fetch Mrs. Penny and handed her the chicken soup.

Mrs. Penny, heavily pregnant, took one whiff of the chicken soup, wrinkled her nose, and nearly tossed the jar away. "Oh heavens, Your Grace, don't go near this stuff! If a woman with child drinks it, the baby won't stand a chance!"

"That's right, it's the infertility drug Madam Lou slipped to the sisters," Lily explained, filling Mrs. Penny in. Mrs. Penny was so furious she nearly started cursing Madam Lou on the spot.

"Mrs. Penny, do you have any infertility drug meant for men? The kind that makes a man barren but doesn't affect women?" Lily Evans asked, eyes twinkling.

Mrs. Penny blinked in surprise. "Oh, absolutely, I've got just the thing!"

Lily Evans smirked. "If Madam Lou doesn't want Marquis Weiyuan to have any more children, why punish the girls? If someone must suffer, let it be her own husband. Mrs. Penny, fetch the male infertility drug."

Mrs. Penny waddled out with her big belly and soon returned with the medicine, handing it to Lily Evans.

Lily Evans pressed the medicine bottle into the young concubine's hand and winked. "Swap this with Madam Lou's drug. Next time you spot chicken soup laced with the male infertility potion, make sure Marquis Weiyuan has an extra bowl or two."
