Narrow Path Encounter

2/14/2026

Evan Yang could tell the two men were both formidable, but what really caught his interest was how Iris Storm had ended up being captured. As she struggled, Iris suddenly noticed Evan standing there. Shocked, she immediately shouted, "Stop! Stop!"

One of the two men replied, "We don't stop without orders. Just relax."

"What? Even this is restricted? I want to stop, I have something urgent!" Iris yelled, but the two men ignored her and kept carrying her forward.

Evan stood there, watching curiously. Iris grew anxious and shouted, "Evan Yang, get over here!"

"Why should I come over?" Evan asked. He knew how strong Iris was, but since she was being held at the moment, he couldn't help but be curious.

"Just get over here when I call you! Why do you have to ask so much?" Iris had finally run into Evan, but never imagined it would be in this situation. If they were outside, she would definitely teach him a lesson, but now she didn't want him to leave—if he walked away now, she'd lose her chance to scold him later.

"Hey, you're the one calling me over!" Evan retorted.

"You're a grown man, why do you care so much? Just get over here!" Iris shouted.

Evan walked over, but didn't get too close. The two men weren't fools—one of them sized Evan up and said, "This doesn't concern you. Move along."

"What did she do wrong? Why are you arresting her?" Evan asked.

"Didn't we already tell you? It's none of your business," the other man said.

Iris Storm grew anxious and quickly sent Evan Yang a sound transmission: "Follow me, follow me, don't leave. If you do, I won't let you off next time."

"You? If I want to leave, you can't stop me," Evan replied, feeling annoyed at her tone. Still, remembering her earlier troubles, he felt a bit concerned.

What Evan said and what he thought were two different things—he claimed not to care, but in truth, his divine sense followed her. Seeing Evan getting farther away, Iris cursed, "Not only are you a scoundrel, you're also useless!"

"Go ahead and curse, whatever," Evan sighed.

He watched as the two men brought Iris Storm into a secret chamber, closed the entrance, and then left.

After they left, Evan approached the secret chamber. He examined it and found it was completely sealed and hard to break open. The entrance was locked with a formation—a formation lock is a lock made from an array.

Luckily, Evan understood formations. He studied the lock for a while, then slipped inside.

Before Evan had even passed through the formation, he heard Iris Storm inside shouting, "Let me out, let me out!"

Evan originally wanted to rush in, but reconsidered—she could easily kill him right now. So he stopped at the edge of the formation and saw Iris Storm outside the array frantically shouting.
